I visited here after hearing they are supposed to be pretty good. I sat in the bar area since I was dining alone. This is an older building, but I'm not sure how long they have been here. In summary, I was not really impressed with my meal, but this is a super casual place and the prices are right. I started off with their house small frozen margarita. If you just need a basic one, this will do. It's nothing fancy. For comparison, their fresh margaritas start at $12 currently. Their salsa is served at room temp and you receive both a green and a red one. The red one was my fav. It was also the spicier of the two. I ordered their beef fajitas for one which is only $20. Let's see how it compared to my favorite in town which is much more expensive. Beef fajitas- these are your basic beef fajitas with store-bought tortillas. The sizzling skillet comes with 2 types of grilled onions, tomato, and grilled bell pepper slices. The beef is tender, I'll give them that, but the quality is low. You receive a lot of Pico de Gallo, not much guacamole, and an avg amount of rice and beans. The grilled onions were not grilled very long at all. I noticed a couple of the slices of beef were not cut against the grain, so they were a bit more chewy. Overall, service was average. They never asked me if I wanted a 2nd margarita until after I sat around for 10 mins and then even asked for the check. By then, its way too late to ask a customer if they want a 2nd drink, I guess that's how low key they are. At the end of the meal my glass of water was nearly empty too, but no server was to be found at the bar. In fact, they didn't really even man the bar most of the time with the 4 customers sitting there, including me. read more

Stop by for a late lunch with the family and was really impressed with how clean everything was right of the bat. The service was wonderful, everyone was attentive and friendly. The salsa was great and the chips were fresh. They have two types of queso which all us Texans can appreciate I got the mole enchiladas and my husband has the grande burrito. The mole was pretty good, I personally enjoy a little more heat in mine however I really did enjoy it. My husband liked his burrito a lot and the charro beans. All and all a great experience. I don't normally leave reviews, but this was beyond unacceptable. I came in hoping for a decent meal, but instead got a side of roach sightings. Yes, actual cockroaches. I saw one crawling along the wall near our booth and another near the kitchen entrance. Totally lost my appetite. The staff didn't seem surprised or concerned when I mentioned it either. If roaches are visible in the dining area, I can't even imagine what's happening behind the scenes. Skip this place unless you're in the mood for disappointment (and a possible health risk). This place is right next to 45 on the feeder road and after driving past it for years now, I have decided to give it a try. I went during a non busy time, only 2 other tables were there. Overall service is good. The bussers and server are constantly checking in on you to make sure everything is fine and that you have everything you need. The food is very tasty, I ordered the fajita Medina which was a very generous portion. I wish they would've added just a bit more meat, but overall good flavor and the meat was cooked perfectly. It's a nice quiet place to enjoy a meal and will need to try it out during a busier time. read more

We saw all the great reviews and we were in the neighborhood. everything we tried was very good. My wife enjoyed and shared some ground beef enchiladas. Both of us ordered off their extensive lunch menu. I went with the succulent and tender beef fajita plate, it came with tortillas, rice and beans, both of us went with refried beans 'cause our grandbaby loves them.....just like me. My plate came with guacamole, pico de gallo and lots of grilled bell peppers and onions. Prices were very reasonable and the service was exemplary. Without saying, I have always enjoyed the food here. Having all that cheese on top makes it really delicious. The pinto beans were cooked perfectly as was the rice. The red salsa may be a little spicy if you're not used to it, but it was very good. The green salsa was awesome and I really like thin chips. The waiter was efficient and so was his helper. They made sure I had enough salsa and drinks. The decor is real Mexican and it's not a very large place. I would consider it almost a hole in the wall. Exactly the kind of places I like to eat at. Hubby pointed out this restaurant as we were driving by it yesterday, so I looked it up here on Yelp and the pictures of enchiladas looked so good I couldn't wait long to try. It definitely did not disappoint!! The gravy had so much flavor, meat is tender. Serving is huge, which means I get to eat it again, yum! Also their pozole has very good flavor and tender meat as well. The menu is big, so much to chose from. Can't wait to come back and try more, might have found our go to spot for Mexican super cute place & was informed their is live music on the weekend! read more

I have driven by Casa Medina for years (probably over 100 times) and never stopped in to try it out.... Don't make the same mistake. I visited there today and found the food fantastic, the service excellent and it was great to see the family owned and family focus. The red salsa and verde salsa were both tasty and the red salsa has a little kick as a warning for the heat challenged. Guacamole and con queso were good and the drinks were reasonable. I ordered a Coke and the glass was like 32 ounces . The margarita was a good size and only $6. Nicely decorated as well. Between the two of us we ordered a mixed appetizer dish and a combo plate to try a little of everything. The Appetizer Mixto came with Flautas, chicken empanadas, steak fajita nachos, chicken quesadilla, guacamole, pica, etc., and was excellent. Honestly, it was so much food that I took 3/4 home. All tasty and at a good price. The meal we ordered was the Casa Medina Special (seems apropos). It included: One Taco al Carbon, (1) Flauta, (1) Chile Relleno, Cheese Enchilada, Guacamole Salad & Sour Cream All were delicious and again we brought 1/2 the meal home. My one regret is that we came around 4:00 pm on a Saturday... only to find out that the music started at 6:00 pm. I would have love to have stayed. If I had one constructive feedback area it would be that although decorated with authentic Mexican items and wall art the booths and tables are a little run down. However, that would not stop me from enjoying this gem. Last comment-everyone there was attentive and smiling. How refreshing! I think 6 of the staff said thank you and goodbye when we left. Do NOT get their Caldo de Pollo!! It's the worst food experience that I've ever had!! The broth was watery, had no flavor or depth and was like drinking salt water. I knew at just looking at the "broth" that it was going to be bad. If you want salt water with tasteless veggies and a lot of bones, well then this is your cup of tea. read more

A cute little hole in the wall place! I drove past it and I immediately thought to myself that place has to be good. We gave it a try and it was great. The service was fantastic and the lady even changed the channel for us so we wouldn't miss the Texans game. I'm not really a fan of chips and salsa since usually the salsas aren't spicy and have no flavor. Their salsa has FLAVOR AND SPICE. their horchata wasn't overly sweet and didn't leave a powdery taste/feeling like most Mexican restaurants. This place is definitely authentic and ordered the fajitas poblanos for 2 which were amazingly good and piping hot sizzling when they came out. The beef was tender and flavorful along with the chicken! Would recommend this place and fast service! Pricing was reasonable compared to other restaurants. Was enjoying the salsa and queso until I got a chip that tasted so horrible of old grease, I had to spit it out. I ordered the Rico plate. The queso chip was stale. The taco lacked flavor. If you judge this restaurant by its somewhat difficult way to get into, parking lot, and dilapidated neighborhood, like we did, you'll miss some great food. We had lunch there on a Sunday afternoon. The staff greeted us on arrival, led us to a table and had chips, salsa, and our drinks immediately after sitting down. The food was delicious authentic Tex Mex hot and fresh. Servers are nice and workers are very friendly wonderful people but I did not enjoy the food at all.. the horchata really lacked flavor and did not taste homemade or from scratch. I ordered the chile relleno. Unfortunately I did not take pictures of my meal and i'm writing this from my home after the biggest stomach ache ever. The chile relleno batter was very greasy and the cheese inside of the chile wasn't melted. In fact, the beans, rice and even the plate were hot but the chile itself was not. I'm kinda new to the Woodlands area and can't seem to find a Mexican restaurant I really like. I had a Chicken Enchiladas, Cheese Enchiladas, rice and beans. It was good, but not the best I've had. The restaurant is very clean. The staff is very friendly, which will make me go back. The prices are very reasonable. I did love the chips and salsa. Fantastic service and friendly faces. The margarita selection is impressive. I do t think I would get the avocado margarita again, but it was a tasty novelty. The Mexican flag was a good deal however. The carne guisada was sooo tender. But maybe a little more flavor. The stand out was the fajita stuffed jalapeños. Such a tasty and well made appetizer. Their margaritas were tasty, and had a punch. I had the fajita combo, beef with shrimp topping. It was good, but nothing special for the price.
