What a hidden gem of a restaurant. Truly authentic Mexican food combined with outstanding service. I had the shrimp tacos $16 for 3 and they were excellent. Noticed the adjoining table had Fajitas and was a bit jealous as the sizzling plate made me a bit jealous. Will definitely come back. Bon appetite.

This is one of my husband's favorite restaurants in all of Houston! (I love it too!) Their chips and salsa are not complimentary, but they are so delicious, you will not find any better anywhere! And its really worth going just for that! My husband loves the Carne Asada Tacos. I'm much more traditional with the crispy beef tacos. They have such great service, and a charming bright dining room! The food is always served in a timely manner. We love this place! They do not disappoint, time after time!

We visited Saturday morning around 10am and Was seated immediately! We ordered the menudo and pozole and both were awesome! I ordered a michelada and it was so good!! Best menudo and miche in Texas‼ definitely coming back and try new items!

Finally had a chance to check out this place- I've passed in on my way home for over a year. The ambiance: open, plenty of seating, modern but warm. Mix of tables and booths. Large windows and a bar along the back. The service: server was helpful, attentive, and answered my out of town friends questions about the food accurately The food: a mixed review FRIED PLANTAINS & CREMA 5/5: sweet, with the edges crispy, balanced with the crema. I'm a fan! STREET TACOS 3/5: comes with 5 mini corn tacos You can choose up to 2 meats. I chose carne asada and barbacoa. Both were dry and over cooked. Rescued with the green and red sauces- I chose to use both. Charro beans were flavorful with large chunks of pork and veggies. SKINNY MARGARITA: 5/5 able to chose to rim the glass with tajin, salt, or sugar. I chose salt and upgraded the tequila to Don Julio Blanco. The drink was fresh and fruity- I liked the orange notes. You can taste the real juice- not a mix. I will try again- but different entree next time!

I'm visiting from California where Mexican food is wayyy better than Texas. This place is the exception! Everything was soo good, so much flavor in each bite leaving you craving for more. Can we talk about the chicharones and guacamole ahhh so good. It's a must try for sure. Service was fast and friendly, there's plenty of parking and the restaurant is so clean and inviting. I would totally recommend trying this place you will thank me.

Wow! This place is great but you wouldn't know it by the outside. It's located in a gas station building and if we hadn't looked on Yelp for a new place to try we would have drove past this place and never given it a second though; so glad we stopped. The food was delicious and our waitress was super friendly!

On the 45 South feeder before you get to the Longhorn. Not your run of the mill Mexican restaurant, so if you're looking for free chips and salsa ($5 here) or cheese enchiladas keep driving. I didn't see cheese enchiladas on the menu so I didn't ask. Got there after 1:00 pm and there was still a bustling lunch crowd but plenty of seating. I ordered the Baja Fish Tacos ($15.) The menu had a good variety of choices. Service was quick.

This is an older building, but I'm not sure how long they have been here. In summary, I was not really impressed with my meal, but this is a super casual place and the prices are right. I started off with their house small frozen margarita. If you just need a basic one, this will do. It's nothing fancy. For comparison, their fresh margaritas start at $12 currently. Their salsa is served at room temp and you receive both a green and a red one. The red one was my fav. It was also the spicier of the two. I ordered their beef fajitas for one which is only $20. Let's see how it compared to my favorite in town which is much more expensive. Beef fajitas- these are your basic beef fajitas with store-bought tortillas. The sizzling skillet comes with 2 types of grilled onions, tomato, and grilled bell pepper slices. The beef is tender, I'll give them that, but the quality is low. You receive a lot of Pico de Gallo, not much guacamole, and an avg amount of rice and beans. The grilled onions were not grilled very long at all. I noticed a couple of the slices of beef were not cut against the grain, so they were a bit more chewy. Overall, service was average. They never asked me if I wanted a 2nd margarita until after I sat around for 10 mins and then even asked for the check. By then, its way too late to ask a customer if they want a 2nd drink, I guess that's how low key they are. At the end of the meal my glass of water was nearly empty too, but no server was to be found at the bar. In fact, they didn't really even man the bar most of the time with the 4 customers sitting there, including me.

Ordered friend shrimp and oysters with grits and fried okra. Loved the grits and fried okra but the fried shrimp seemed like it was frozen as the crust fell off when I picked it up. It was tasty and I ate it so it was Goode! Also, ordered an iced tea that was fresh and clean tasting so their equipment is well maintained. You can tell if any restaurants do not clean their dispensers as the tea tastes bitter or is milky looking. Why do I know this? You ask? Because my Dad was a coffee/tea delivery man and when I was a child he use to take me on Saturdays to run his route. We visited several Luby's Cafeteria's where he made sure the dispensers were clean and that they were making the tea properly. He showed me how he used the brushes to clean the tubes, dispenser handle and used special cleaning material on the inside. It makes a difference if your tea dispenser is clean... have I convinced you yet? Wow that was a rant! The bottom line is they have great iced tea!

We entered to a friendly staff who sat us immediately. The vibe is very modern with some Mexican influence. We were with another couple and I think they were under the impression that this would be Tex-Mex, but it is not. For drinks I got a Mezcalina, my wife got a normal margarita normally I don't love Mezcal, but was feeling adventurous and this drink did not disappoint, it exploded with flavor and was my favorite drink I have had here. The bar program might be the best of any restaurant in the area, as it should be since they have a speakeasy as well. In my previous trip they brought us complimentary chips and salsa, but the time they brought Mexican hummus and pita. I was initially disappointed, but this was one of the more unique complimentary dishes I have had, and loved it. For starters, we got the TOSTADA CHUTORO, which was a tostada with raw fish and caviar. There were two, and although smaller bites to share, the flavor once again really shined through. I would say this is similar to a ceviche dish with really fresh fish and bright flavors.
