Got their basic sub sandwich to go and I was not dissatisfied, just not overwhelmed. It was less than I would make at home and certainly not in the Jimmy John's or Jersey Mike's category of an Italian sub. Priced good for a restaurant, I would probably have to think hard when comparing this to a Subway BMT and might go with the Subway. In this case, I was staying at the hotel next door and this place won out over Subway for convenience. When I picked up, staff were attentive and very pleasant. I'd be curious about their in-store menu and might give that a try if I were looking for a family style Italian restaurant. Pizza here is good. If you're ordering anything else though it's very hit or miss. Mostly miss. It's overpriced for the type of things they serve. We went there recently and ordered a calzone and the fettucine. The calzone was mostly dough, and hard as a rock. The fettucine was so dry, there was almost no sauce, just pasta, and the sorry excuse for shrimp was disheartening. We got garlic bread (which was ok but how do you screw that up?) 2 beers and paid about $50 for everything. So not worth it. The waitresses were friendly, and the place is clean. read more

This was our second visit and we were very disappointed. The 1st time my boyfriend had the steak and was blown away how good it was. Not this time. The flavor was good but the steak itself was tough and rough to chew. I had their pizza sole which I really liked. They were completely over staffed but their service didn't show it. Save your money, it isn't worth a free sample. The staff were positive and friendly, a little inattentive but certainly nice. The food was the issue. The pasta was dry, covered in canned marinara sauce of some kind. Pizza was subpar, alfredo could not have been blander if it was in a competition for blandness. The meatballs for the spaghetti looked like dog food but at least the microwave warmed them through. The the chicken parmigiana was a hot mash of soaked through breadcrumbs hiding beneath the same flavorless marinara that adorned the other lifeless dishes. I wish this food could have been at least mediocre, the restaurant is in a great location with a homey interior. Perhaps one day it will be a nice place to grab a bite. Great food! Great staff! Great value! We went there one day and they let us sit on the patio with our dog. They even brought him a throw away bowl filled with water. Took my parents to eat here when they were visiting, bad idea. There were only two other tables occupied and the people sitting at them seemed to be regulars. Th service was lacking and some of our order was messed up but we all got pasta. It was really, really bad. I've had frozen ravioli from costco that was better. The sauce was not fresh and we all scraped it off. I can handle a little slow service or an order goof, those things happen, but the food was really terrible. Great spot for a quick hearty lunch. There are a few pizza options in Yelm, but this one stands up. My wife and I brought our three children in for lunch and everything was clean and the wait staff were attentive and friendly. Prices were fair and the menu had enough options to provide variety without an overwhelming number of choices. Went here with my son and grandsons, yesterday. Not only was the pizza delicious (cashews added an interesting texture and were fantastic with the roasted chicken). I love the crust!! Delicious antipasto salad. Delicious pizza if you can eat regular normal people pizza (with gluten and cheese). Delicious bread and garlic bread, and soups. Only compliant, I've had to change to GF AND DAIRY FREE the last month and a half. The last two pizzas now have had dairy. They did remake my pizza though the second time. First time I just gave it away, where I was. Disappointed when I specifically say NO CHEESE, they cannot fulfill that order. Twice. A little on the $ side too. Great first experience at this small chain. Our server provided some appetizers to allow us to sample their pesto and bruschetta products since we were new to this restaurant. My wife ordered the spinach ravioli and I had the butternut squash ravioli with mushrooms. Both were very good based on West Coast standards. Thus my 4 star rating. After moving here, my wife and I have sampled many different places around town. We were informed that Casa Mia was "the" pizza place. We were misinformed. Overpriced for the quality, to say the least. The service was a little less than acceptable. There was minimal people in the restaurant, and we spoke to three different servers prior to us actually receiving a menu or a request for a drink order. Our order also came out wrong. The staff was more than willing to try and make up for the mistake, which was nice. All in all, the leftovers were better reheated than the meal itself. read more

My family and I love this place. Great food. Thier pizza is one of the best! I recommend getting Gorgonzola sauce on it! Friendly staff everyone is so pleasant to everyone who walks through the door. Tough review to write. I enjoyed my dinner, wife not so much. I would classify their food as "Americanized Italian". I ordered the chicken parm and loved it. Wife ordered the lasagna and ate one bite before turning it down. Problem is the lasagna is far from authentic Italian. The menu mentioned the lasagna was made with meat sauce, but failed to mention it was made with Italian sausage. My wife was quick to point out authentic Italian lasagna does not include meat. We brought her lasagna home and I ate it the next day. It was awesome! So, in respect to my wife's opinion, I gave my review a 4 star instead of 5. Oh, make sure you enjoy LOTS of cheese in your Italian dishes. There was definitely no shortage of cheese in either my chicken parm or the lasagna. read more

I was raised in Grays Harbor, and used to eat at the Hoquiam Casa Mia on a regular basis. Later in life dined at Casa Mia in Lacey rather frequently. A few years back was living in Yelm, and I rediscovered the place here. Have had hit or miss experiences, but really feel like they have turned the place around. At least the last time I took my wife, was about a week ago. The day the Rodeo was going on. The restaurant was packed. We let the waitress' know we were just going to place a to-go order. We had a few different gals drop by our table to ensure that we were being taken care of, while we were awaiting our order. This is always preferred to being ignored. I prefer their white sauce, personally... and have been meat free for a year now... So my ordering options have drastically diminished over the years. I just wanted a cheese pizza, but we ended up with an order of Garlic Bread & white sauce & salads as well. *We were at the tail end of a move, had been at it all day, and frankly starving and ready to go pass out at our new house. I did order the Cheese with white sauce, I heard the chef announce it as such in the kitchen... but the pizza guy still managed to make it with red sauce... The minute I opened the box, I realized the sauce wasn't right... and let the waitress know. She apologized, asked if we'd still eat it? Of coarse! We said... and she put back in the order for our cheese with WHITE SAUCE. Needless to say, I was quite pleased with the error in my favor. I didn't mind the mistake, because the waitress was so graceful at handling this potentially hazardous situation. Not to mention the staff immediately prepared the pizza, rather then making us wait for any other orders to go through. They prioritized that order, and it was the next pie to come out of the kitchen. I was actually just having a debate with the wife, about whether we should do Papa Murphy's or Casa Mia. And noticed several ratings that reflected poor wait staff... and at least my last experience was such a stark contrast to that, that I felt the need to put in a good word, as maybe it's time to give them another chance! Namaste BTW, we are a family of artists & yogis & body workers. So sometimes find ourselves being treated as second class citizens in establishments that expect their patrons to dress a certain way etc. Since we have a pair of young children, and generally maintain a pure organic sustainable diet... Their strada susina pizza is my favorite and I sure wish I could afford to eat there more often. The strada susina pizza has tomato and gorgonzola parmesan sauces with roast chicken, cashews, onions and fresh basil. It's absolutely fantastic. And a nice bowl of spumoni is the perfect finisher, if you have room for it. read more

At least from the dishes we got, you could tell that none of it was origionally made in the restaurant. Definitely frozen food heated up, lasagna was pre frozen, you could tell. Our kids pasta, although coming out soooo fast (literally our server walked back after taking the order, and came right back with the pasta) you could tell why it came out so fast. No thought to it, water dunked pasta, spoonful of luke warm sauce, and a pinch of cheese. This is basically a failed attempt to mimic Olive Garden. Would maybe come back for a quick bite, but definitely not the place for us to frequent often and definitely not bringing family in for a nice dinner. read more

I recently dined at Casa Mia for the first time in a few years, and the experience was about the same as the last time I ate there. Casa Mia serves good pizza, really. If you go to Casa Mia, I suggest this is what you order. They won a few awards for pizza back in 2003 or 2004, and I could see why; the char-grilling on the dough is awesome. That's about all I can say about Casa Mia that makes it stand out from other restaurants. The other dishes are mediocre. While my husband likes the salad, I think that it's reminiscent of what a Denny's-type chain would serve: loads of shredded cheese, head lettuce, and olives. The pasta still is over-cooked, and this may be my biggest complaint of anything. I worked at a very good Italian restaurant before I was married, and I do understand that it's important to pre par-boil pasta before a busy dinner shift. Once an order comes in, the chef will drop an order of whatever pasta has been ordered to reheat and finish it, and then it will be tossed with a small portion of the sauce that it is to be served with. Every time that I have ever ordered pasta at Casa Mia I have been given soggy, overcooked pasta that has not been tossed or pan-flashed with any sauce; the sauce is just poured over it. This is not Italian. The atmosphere is still what I call "Modern American Cafeteria," because you can hear what everyone else is saying. I do like the wait staff, although we have been slightly ignored on busy nights. I will not be back because anything that is made well at Casa Mia is something I can make myself. I have been making bread, pizza dough, and my own sauces for close to twenty years, and I have been making my own pasta for three. If the food was so good that I could not replicate it I would spend the money, but it's not. read more

I'm giving this two stars, and only two stars. And this is why... my boyfriend and I went to Casa Mia last night for our first time together. I will start off by saying the service was fast, the staff was great, but the food was just awful. I ordered the Onion soup, the Calzone, and a glass of sprite. My boyfriend ordered the Casa Mia garlic bread, also ordered the calzone, and a glass of sprite. First off the Sprite was flat, the ice in it was bad... had a weird freezer taste to it. The onion soup was just straight up gross. The soup had a rubber smell and taste to it. There was a huge chunk of rubbery cheese in the middle of the soup, I just couldn't eat it. My boyfriend said the same thing about the soup and the sprite. The garlic bread my boyfriend had ordered wasn't bad, but wasn't to die for. I could make the same garlic bread at home, along with the sauce that came with it. Definitely not worth the $6 we paid for it. After all that my boyfriend asked if I wanted to leave because the food was so awful, I said no let's wait to see what our calzones are like. So about 10 minutes go by, we get our calzones... and man... I was still disappointed. My boyfriend and I didn't even eat a full piece of it . There was too much sauce, cheese, and meat. The ranch we asked for made it better, but still couldn't get through a whole piece. I said well maybe this will be better in the morning, I'll take some and eat it for lunch tomorrow. Here I am at work trying to eat my calzone I got from Casa Mia the night before , and it's just bad . There's so much sauce still that it's not even Edible anymore.
