We came here one night on a whim because no one wanted to make dinner. We walked in around 6 on a weeknight and were sat right away. We ordered the artichoke dip as an appetizer, which was actually really good. I had the spinach ravioli with pesto cream sauce and my wife had the pesto chicken ravioli. We loved both dishes, the only thing I would say here is my dish was extremely heavy on sauce. I mean I LOVE sauce, but there was a lot. Our daughter ordered buttered noodles with a side of meatballs. She said the meatballs were amazing! The service overall was rather good, we didn't wait to long to order and our waitress was pretty attentive. For being in a smaller town like Roy, I was rather pleased with this establishment!

The Good: Outdoor seating available in front or on thier fenced in patio area. Salads are made fresh (ranch is delicious!) House made meat/marinara sauce is very good. Steak is good if you like baked steaks like my husband. Cannelloni is meat filled vs cheese and is incredibly filling and tasty. Meatballs The Bad: Wine-They only have house wine and it is boxed Peter Vella wine. The So-So: White/Alfredo/cream sauce is quite plain & lacking in the garlic dept. Service-Not friendly, not rude, a bit slow

We called the day of, and they were booked out until 7:45. Which makes sense considering how small the restaurant is. I'll start off by saying that the food was the highlight of the night for sure. But, the service wasn't the best from what I've heard from others. We ordered a bottle of wine, which took about 10-15 minutes to be served to us after the order was taken. Then when we were putting our appetizer order in, the server told us to wait while he handled something else. But, I've heard from close friends that the service is amazing, so maybe it was just an off-night for them. Anywho, we ordered the arancini, arugula and Gorgonzola salad, and the caprese. My favorite was the caprese. The tomato's were nice and juicy and tasted amazingly fresh. Mozzarella and basil also delicious. It was a nice refreshing appetizer. The arancini is a pretty heavy dish which makes sense since it's risotto stuffed with bolognese and cheese. I wish it was hotter, but the flavors were yummy. I ordered the bucatini that was on their specials menu. It was served with a sauce similar to Alfredo but a lot lighter than I expected. It also came with zucchini, mushrooms, and a prosciutto-like meat. It was my first time trying bucatini, and I was definitely not disappointed by it! They had great specials that night, so we were very fortunate to have caught them serving these dishes. We finished the night off with tiramisu, and it was delicious. Overall, I would definitely come back and hope for better service. But the food is something I would come back to regardless.

We were quickly seated for our reservation, and our server was friendly & attentive. We started off with a delectable appetizer special of burrata with heirloom tomatoes, pesto and olive tapenade. The tangy tapenade really complimented the creamy burrata. We were also served the softest french bread, which sopped up the pesto so nicely. We were lucky enough to get a bite of all 4 dinner entrees on the table. I ordered one of the daily specials, the Saltimbocca. The chicken/prosciutto combo was so flavorful in the white wine sauce. The portion was plentiful, I could have taken a doggy bag, but devoured it bite by bite. I was thankful to have made this choice - score! Hubs ordered the Diavola pizza, with crisp pepperoni and pickled serranos. Either the serranos or red pepper sauce gave it quite the kick, not overly, but deliciously. It was perfectly crispy! Family ordered Carbonara and the lamb ragu. Both great portions, very flavorful! Our dinners came with a salad, which was a perfectly lightly dressed compliment to the appetizer and mains. We drove quite awhile in 5:00 traffic to get here, but it was well worth it. We savoured every bite!

No reservation at peak dinner time (5:30) on a Wednesday, the host (and manager?) found a spot for us promptly anyway and he was super kind and our server for the night. Preschooler was asleep in my arms, but we made it work. We ordered: 1 rose cider (sweet but not too sweet), 1 pulpo (grilled octopus!) starter, 1 boscaiola pasta for the preschooler (boxed leftovers), 1 spring ravioli (more Italian name), and 1 rabbit with polenta entree. Each main came with salad and meal started with bread and whipped butter. We were offered a kid menu option of pasta with alfredo, marinara, or bolognese sauce, but opted for normal menu so we could bring back leftovers. We loved the pulpo and the salads (they offered to box up the preschoolers salad since she was still sleeping). Kid enjoyed the bread. Bit of a wait for mains but nothing out of the ordinary. All the dishes we ordered were delicious. Boscaiola was a hit with the kiddo since she loves pasta and sauce and mushrooms and cheese. Husband thought his main was really good. I was so full after eating all of my ravioli. Really impressed with the quality of food and the level of service. A busy place, but as mentioned, we were luckily seated right away. We're thrilled to have finally made it here after our old Italian standby in proctor shutdown and we can't wait to come back! Definitely recommend. Parking: you can find it, not plentiful but not bad either. Kid friendly: sort of! If your kid likes pizza or pasta!

The upstairs is small and intimate, which gives the whole place a cozy, unique feel. Our waiter this time was a young gentleman who was incredibly friendly and did a great job! Three of us ordered Coors Lights in bottles, and he brought them out ice cold with a chilled glass to pour them into. When we ordered a second round, he let us know he had just put some more in the freezer, so it would be a few minutes. That little extra step made a difference...we'd much rather wait a few minutes for an ice-cold beer than have it brought out warm! I ordered the spaghetti with their house-made Bolognese sauce and added a meatball, and WOW. The sauce had the perfect combination of slight sweetness, a little spice from the sausage, and that tangy tomato flavor. So good! And I'm usually not a huge fan of restaurant meatballs because they can be tough or rubbery, but this one was soft, juicy, and packed with flavor. Sean got the lasagna and absolutely loved it! Our friends who invited us out ordered the steak and spaghetti Bolognese, and everyone was happy with their meals. The steak was cooked exactly how it was requested, and the quality of the food for the price was really good. Overall, Pellegrino's is just a great little place. Warm, inviting atmosphere, friendly service, delicious food, and a fun, intimate setting that feels a little different from your typical Italian restaurant. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a place to enjoy a good meal with friends. We'll definitely be back!

Right away there was confusion at check-in--they called for a party of 9 with no name, and the host was rude when we responded using the first name instead of the last. After being seated, it took about 10 minutes just to get drinks, and then another 30 minutes before our server took our food order. During that time, we weren't asked about appetizers or offered any drink refills. About an hour later, the server came back and told us the kitchen was backed up and they were "just now making our food," which honestly felt like our order may have been forgotten. At that point, all of our drinks were empty and I had to ask for refills. While we were still waiting, another server came to the table asking how one of our steaks was cooked, which added to the confusion. Our food finally arrived after about an hour and a half. Unfortunately, the issues didn't stop there: My spaghetti and meatballs was incorrect, but I kept it since I didn't want to wait again with a toddler. My sister's husband's meal was never even put in--the server admitted this. My sister's fish and chips came out cold. No one checked back to see how the food was. Drinks were left empty again with no refills offered. We were never asked about dessert. Plates were never cleared, even after I stacked empties at the end of the table to help. Every time we needed something, we had to flag someone down. To make matters worse, the checks came out incorrect with items swapped between them. I've worked as a server/bartender for four years, and my niece is also a server, so we completely understand how busy and stressful things can get. But this experience missed the mark on multiple levels. Even when things go wrong, basic service--like keeping drinks filled and checking on guests--should still be happening. This was easily the worst restaurant experience I've had. It was especially disappointing because we're an easy group and typically tip very well. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

We usually try to eat here whenever we're visiting the gorgeous place called Gig Harbor, and yet, this Yelp elite had not reviewed it before. The food is out of this world excellent! In fact, it's just like being in Naples or Gaeta, etc. Chef Michele "Mike" Simone and his wife, Azusa run a tight ship here, and it reflects not only in the food but also in how the place is usually packed with families and locals and tourists. Simone also comes out often and goes from table to table, talking to his happy customers and checking in... it is a joy to see and makes it feel homey. The owner came out to chat with customers and many in the restaurant knew him, there were many regulars. The flavors were what you'd think they'd be, pretty standard dishes. I was excited for the Caesar but found it to be too mild. I wanted more funk. The soup was basic, probably wouldn't order it again. The lamb chops were grilled after being cut which I believe is the cause of it being overcooked and a little dry. Grilling an entire rack will keep the juices inside. The veal Marsala was my favorite dish we ordered. Also not life changing but good. Overall, I would go back for a fun, loving atmosphere and decent food.

I honestly love both, so I can never decide which one I want--which is why I just rotate! We also really love the taproom side and all of the beer options they have.
