We walked in on a very busy day! All the indoor tables were full. Police Explorers (a lot of them) were just leaving as we walked in! The staff couldn't clear an area fast enough so we could be seated... smiling and genuinely friendly as they did. The restaurant was busy but not so busy that we couldn't hear eachother talk. We both ordered the enchilada plate. The food was Excellent! Thank you Joslyn for the great service!

Lazy Tuesday or rather taco Tuesday? Nope! Went to Casa Moreno downtown Covina for dinner( no cook food at home). We're able to get a table for 5, surprised( usually they're crowded)! Kids ordered nachos to start with - omg! Soooo good! And dinner serve after. I ordered the fish( pescado al mojo de ajo) yummy! Totally recommended‼ Food100% Service100% Ambiance100%

Love this place. It's in downtown Covina, cute restaurant, indoor and outdoor seating. Servers are always so nice. Hadn't gone in for a while and stopped in this weekend. I was craving their mole. Idk what they put in it but it is delicious! You have to try it! We started with their guac and forgot to take a pic cause we dug in the second it got to our table Til next time.

Search for the Delicious: Casa Moreno, Covina Sometimes you just need a little Saturday comfort food, and for us, that meant heading to Casa Moreno in Covina -- a family-run gem that's been serving up amazing flavors for nearly 30 years. I kicked things off with a steaming bowl of their legendary Caldo Tlalpeño -- rich, flavorful broth loaded with rice, shredded chicken, pico de gallo, and avocado, all paired with their house-made corn tortillas. I raved about it so much during the drive from Rancho Cucamonga that Robin ordered a cup too -- and on the way home, she declared it "one of the best soups she's ever had." Of course, I couldn't resist a carnitas soft taco on the side -- melt-in-your-mouth perfection. I also highly recommend their Enchiladas Suizas, Calabacitas, and Arroz con Pollo. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Robin went with her usual -- she loves their Chalupas: four mini grilled corn tortillas topped with red and green salsa, cheese, and tender shredded beef. Simple, favorable, and a little Casa Moreno salsa on top, and you've got magic. As always, the service was exceptional -- warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. It was great to catch up with Susan and enjoy yet another unforgettable meal at a place that feels like home - cozy and welcoming. Pro Tip on Parking Street parking is available, plus a lot behind the restaurant, another lot across the street, and a parking structure nearby on College Avenue -- so no stress there. If you're ever craving authentic flavors and hometown hospitality, Casa Moreno is the place. And while Downtown Covina has plenty of unique dining and shopping spots, I'd start right here every single time.

This amazing place offerings is out of this world. Surprised I have never know of this place. The menu was so exciting. So many traditional Mexican cuisine that is normally not available unless you are in the country of origin. Los compadre tacos was the star of the plate. The tacos was savory with beautiful combination of textures from the chorizo and chicharrones with the wonderful salsa verde with perfect spice. Our service was a bit chaotic because we didn't know who our server was but they were attentive.

Located in the downtown Covina strip! Was excited to try this place as pictures of the food looked authentic! Unfortunately food wasn't what I expected. It wasn't terrible but definitely lacked. I ordered the alambre and the meat was very dry and bacon burnt. The chicken milanesa just tasted like a Dino nugget. Service also lacked! Sat outside and our server never checked up on us. I ordered flour tortillas and they brought me corn. Additionally wanted to ask for salsa on the side and got tired of waiting so just grabbed some Tapatío from a nearby table. The only thing that was bomb was the salsa they bring out with the chips!

Got here during rush hour. Got seated promptly, sat down got our menus, salsa and chips are on point freshly made, Susan took care of us and came back and asked if we wanted some drinks. She proceeded to get the drinks and was not long at all. The ambiance is more intimate and there is also a bar area with stools for additional seating. There are also tables in the middle space for additional seating and for large groups. Outdoor seating also available. Parking is not an issue since it is a 2 hour parking limit on some of the parking spots. We ordered caldo tlalpeno and a pescado al mojo de ajo. Two beers. Food is great. Definitely worth trying out. If you are in the area. Will be back soon. Thanks Susan for the superb customer service.

This is a good stop if you want Mexican cuisine in covina. The food is good but not great. Which is fine, the atmosphere makes up for it for sure. It feels like a Mexican cantina. They have a full bar and plenty of televisions to ensure you wont miss the games. Staff is attentive and very pleasant. If you are in the area and thinking about dropping in, I wouldn't hesitate.

Enchiladas Suizas so good I've already came back!

Exceeding expectations, good service, great food. I've already came back and plan to be back again soon. Really cute patio in down town Covina.

The owner Monica is awesome! So friendly and inviting! This is a cozy Mexican restaurant that feels like your at a tias house waiting for the good food to come out! But first stop by my boy Tony he takes care of you! The happy hour menu is awesome $5 draft and $8 margaritas! Been coming to this place and it never fails ! Come check them out!

Hospitality here is unmatched, great ambiance too. I've been here numerous times and all of the staff have treated me very well. I want to give out a shout out to the sisters, Caitlin and Breanna for always getting down my order correctly and always giving me the best recommendations when I can't pick one meal to eat because they are all so delicious! I would recommend you try their "Casa" drink and their asada nachos if you haven't had Casa Moreno yet.

Welcome Home We escaped the storm in Hawai'i and after a fun filled Spring Break week at Disneyland, my son's one and only request was to eat at Casa Moreno!! Thankfully we were able to detour from Anaheim on our way to LAX. Special shout out to the dedicated staff who graciously accommodated us and allowed us to sneak in a bit early in order to fulfill our cravings and still make our flight on time. I grew up going to Casa Moreno since the original spot in 1995, you can say it's home for me. My kids have therefore grown up visiting it every chance we get when visiting our family in the area. We generally all share and pass our plates around in true family style because we can never decide which all-star traditional plates to order. This time, the kid's quesadilla, 3 Amigos, Steak Fajitas, Chicken Flautas and Machaca made the cut. The look on my son's face when the sizzling platter was headed his way was just as magical as seeing him hug Chip and Dale. Every single bite warmed our hearts and filled our homemade food starved bodies. Casa Moreno is undeniably the greatest Mexican food that Los Angeles has had to offer for over 30 years. Their traditions span throughout three generations and the second you crunch those warm chips covered in their "Chilanga" salsa, you'll be hooked. The best part is that my local family is always there and pleased to come sit with us. We are all unfortunately spread apart across the country but Casa Moreno will always be the place that brings us together. Our shared experiences and memories there always make it HOME. Thank you Casa Moreno for all the sacrifices and hard work to stay around this long, it is very much appreciated by this LA girl living in Hawai'i.

This restaurant is in a strip mall with: DD's, Yoshinoya and Smart and Final on Azusa. We ordered these quesobirria tacos x4 $5 each,1 consome to share $1.50, and their surf & turf burrito $16. Did we expect the tacos to be better than the ones at Disney's DCA at a 10 rating? Especially since these were soft not fried like DCA's. No, but tell you what, these were an 8 since we are comparing. NOW, the next day, I heated up the leftover 2 tacos in my air fryer at 425 for 6 min. Guess what? They are a 10 out of 10, just like DCA's!!!! Fuego can you fry these up? I My husband and I shared the surf and turf burrito. It was large enough to share! Heavy, packed with moist rice, melted cheese, birria and shrimp. Only modification we ask for was no pico and no chipotle crema. The shrimp was freshly cooked on the plancha and to perfection (had a snap). I was worried at first, no one wants rubbery shrimp. This was by far our most favorite item, and probably the best burrito i've ever had!!!! My husband said he'll buy me my own next time. Sorry, I don't have a photo. We gobbled that up so quick. So now I'm thinking we should order burritos to eat now and order the tacos to take home for next day air fryer meals. Now we can skip on them at DCA and enjoy other things we love to eat at Disney .

We got served some good old fashioned chips and salsa, always a favorite. I think I saw a piece of mango floating in it but I could be wrong, as it did not taste sweet. Tasted quite peppery so maybe it was a bell pepper. I have no idea. Salsa did have a different taste than the usual onion, garlic, tomato, cilantro so I'm unsure what they do here. Chips were fine, not hot and fresh but had a nice crunch to them. Most Mexican restaurants I've been to have this similar combination option and I saw their menu had a combo with three items: one enchilada, one chile relleno and one crunchy taco. I thought, awesome, I get to try one of each and see how I like 'em. I normally get a taquito with my meal so I asked the waiter if it was ok to order this combo with a taquito or flauta in place of the crunchy taco. He said no. Not, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience but we don't allow substitutions, thank you for understanding, etc." Just, no. Ok...? Never been to a place that cared much about me subbing a taco for a taquito, unless the plates are preassembled with a crunchy taco, which doesn't make any sense. Thought that was a little off-putting but onward... We ordered the potato taquito appetizer that was listed on their menu. Plate arrives and it's huge - which made sense since it cost $18 - but they were all visibly beef taquitos. I happened to be dining with my vegetarian friend, hence the ordering of potato taquitos, so we kindly informed the waiter that we ordered potato and these were all beef taquitos. Waiter confusingly indicated that these were potato taquitos and we kind of glanced at each other like... uhhh, there's clearly shredded beef in there sticking out, so we pointed it out. Waiter looks again, points to one specific taquito on the plate and says, "Well, that one is potato." The waiter eventually clarified that the taquitos were actually beef with potato. I politely informed him that since my friend is vegetarian and the menu didn't specify beef in the taquitos, we couldn't accept or eat the dish. The waiter was pushy about it and suggested we just take them home and eat the leftovers. Dude no. I ordered potato taquitos and we're only two people, and this was a massive plate of around 15 taquitos. I don't have an air fryer or oven at home, either, so I really have no proper way of reheating and I'm just one person. Either way, none of this was something I felt was worth arguing over. Just take the friggin taquitos back. We sat there uncomfortably for a bit and waited for our main meals to arrive. Got my combo, and it was honestly pretty good. Flavors were fresh and vibrant, even the taco was good although I was bitter it was a half-moon fried piece of tortilla with beef instead of a rolled fried piece of tortilla with beef. :( It's a joke, chill. We finished and the waiter brought out the bill. We quickly left our cards for payment and in clear view for the waiter to pick up so we could leave and digest by walking at the mall or something, but he never came. He walked by a few times, cards were sticking out... still nothing. After 30 minutes, my friend says she thinks we have to pay at the front. Would've been nice to know about 30 minutes ago. Paid at the front, left, and I won't be coming back. Food was actually pretty good but it unfortunately did not outweigh the lack of service and overall experience of eating here. Parking was good, at least.

I confronted Jorge about letting those other groups in ahead of everyone else. His response was that he knew them personally and that they were friends of the restaurant owners. That explanation only made the situation worse. My wife had just finished a 14-hour hospital shift, and we came here hoping to enjoy the game together. Instead, we spent three hours waiting only to be treated as though our time didn't matter. What was most shocking was Jorge's attitude. He literally told me, "They won't do anything to me if you post this. I'm friends with the owner." If that's the mindset of management, it's no surprise customers are treated this way. It truly felt like only friends and family received special treatment while everyone else was left waiting without honesty or respect. I have no issue waiting when things are busy, but I do expect transparency, fairness, and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience showed none of those qualities.

It's enduring and hilarious at the same time. The food is amazing and savory down to the chips and salsa. They have special fresh strawberries if you order a strawberry cocktail. There's something about this restaurant that rents a space in your memory. I'll be back.

I also don't appreciate the poor attitude that two of the bartenders have been displaying lately. They have favorites and it shows a lot. I understand that when it's time to close it's time to close and go. But if you're serving other people and treating those same people nicer because they're your favorites, well that's not cool. In the end we're all patrons. We all support when consuming. But above all, it's the poor attitude that I will never pay for. I used to like coming here often. I probably will never again. I also know that occasionally in the bar they overcharge for cocktails thinking customers will not notice because they've been drinking and bartenders refuse to adjust the check. This is terrible and now you know.
