    33. Nachos Supremos with extra lettuce

First off went on a Saturday evening around 6:30 pm and the place was busy but I was able to wait less than 10 mins and get a table. The service was stellar as my server kept checking on me and got my order right. The portions are on the larger side (at least for the nachos supremos. My waiter refilled my drink a few times without having to ask and brought me extra napkins. The ambiance was really fun! They came out a few times and sang happy birthday to a few tables during the time I was there and everyone joined in! Yelp won't allow me to pist a video but I got one of everyone singing and having a good time. I also included a photo of a different time I went and the result was still the same, great service, large portions and friendly staff.

Dinner today at Casa Real in Sandusky, Ohio was really good! I got #34 the Chimichangas and my husband got #25 the Burrito Tipicos. Both entrees were very good, as well as, the chips and salsa. We ended our meal with the Sopapilla & Ice Cream which was delicious! And to top it all off, service was stellar!

Casa Real is a typical Tex-Mex place that caters to the tourist / locals crowd. It's cramped but cozy enough with lots of eye challenging colors. The service was fast and friendly but didn't include a check back until I was done eating. So why only 3 stars? Now, 2 soft chicken tacos for $4.99 seemed like a decent deal until I got them. For some reason, they were both made totally different. Now, the chicken on both were really juicy and tender, but one had a little lettuce, a small piece of cactus, and a tablespoon's worth of cheese. The other had hardly any lettuce, lots of crumbled white cheese, and nothing else. There was no onion or cilantro. Yup, not Mexican at all. I got Taco Bell'd and they got 3 stars.

So I'm entirely conflicted about a rating for this establishment. We initially came here 10 years ago with only two children and I left a review through tripadvisor. I rated them very high due to their prices and vegetarian options. However, I was not as fortunate this time. Perhaps it was only because of our waiter, but this experience stunk. I came with my husband and four children with high hopes. It already started off rough when we were seated and our waiter did not bring us chips and salsa even after we ordered a half pitcher of margaritas as well as waters for the children. When I asked him for some, he asked us if we needed "more"? What? I told him we didn't receive any to begin with. Upon ordering, I inquired if the rice and beans were vegetarian or were they made with chicken stock and lard. He responded they were not vegetarian. Interesting considering they have a separate vegetarian section. I asked a different associate the same question and she promptly went into the kitchen in order to inquire. She informed me the rice was not, but the beans were. Why couldn't our own server do this? I then ordered a wet vegetarian burrito for myself as well as a cheese enchilada kids meal for my son. Both arrived with meat. Wtf. The other members of my family ordered shrimp tacos, shrimp burritos, steak street tacos, and a cheese quesadilla kids meal. Their meals were all perfect and they had no complaints. My correctly made meal was pretty small, actually. Not worth $12, for sure. And I did not trust the beans as a veg head as I tasted an off taste. We then ordered two fried ice cream dishes which were adaquate. The worst part being when I received the check. There were two $1 discrepancies from the stated menu, which were corrected once I had to point them out. Based on this recent experience I'm unsure if I would return. Fond memories, but I personally had a poor experience.

Use Yelp app to get here and it was worth it. Lightning speed service and all food was hot and fresh. Still not on my top five (5) true Mexican restaurants but falls on my personal top 10 list. Would definitely recommended and come back again. The chips and salsa, though not spicy at all, was pretty decent. Loved my tacos in corn tortillas. Ratio of price to portions is low which always is a good factor. The average rating out of a group of 5 was 4 .

We were looking for an outdoor eating place and friends recommended Casa Real. Looks nothing special from the outside, but service and food made this a great stop. Our server was wonderful and got us everything timely, and sometimes before we even knew we needed it, like refill on water. They provided us chips and salsa while we waited to order and it was good. I only looked at the lunch menu, and it was extensive. I chose the two chicken enchiladas with rice along with a Modelo beer. The enchiladas were full of chicken and the sauce was good. The rice was cooked perfectly. Others in our group were happy with their meals as well.

Stopped on our way to Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk for the annual Night Under Fire event. Service was decent and so was the food. Portions were fair for the price.

The fact they put Real in the name made me laugh as I really haven't found too much legit or Real Mexican food in this state but to be fair as well as honest this is actually very good for what it is and also the reason I've been here more than once. Of the few times I've been here the service has been steady and as for what I've ordered it's all about the Ohio Special as it comes with a chilli relleno, a tamale, a chimichanga, and an enchilada all of which have the red sauce on them as well as that queso that seems to be the thing to put on top around here. The whole plate is pretty good as well as filling so much so that I find myself bringing some home to enjoy later on as for the other item I've gotta here the beef quesadillas they were yummy as well a little bit salty but definitely not bad but I think I'll stick with the Ohio special it's more my style. As for other things here only time will tell if I decide to try them a for my friends who have came here with me they Aaliyah have enjoyed what they have ordered as well. Overall decent Mexican food with some chips and salsa and you know I'm always down for that goodness so it's for the reasons listed here that I'm sure I'll be back here again at some point!

In town for a soccer tournament and looked this place up! It did not disappoint. Super authentic Mexican food. Delicious. My shrimp tacos were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Staff was friendly and quick. Cute little place. Will be back!

Good food honestly priced. Attentive but not hovering service. They seem genuinely happy to see you. This is our go-to for Mexican food.

This is a good example of a family-oriented Mexican restaurant. Good food, good prices and excellent customer service.

I've had enchiladas and their burritos. Food is decent. Their flan isn't that good. Service here is always exceptional.

Think snack bar at the roller rink or high school football game. Granted the menu is far from a snack bar and I do give them credit for aiming high with some pretty aspirational dishes. While other reviews suggest table service, that was not our experience. You ordered at the counter, given a pager, and fetched your food when the devices beeped incessantly. You buss your own table too. My wife ordered the lobster roll, which was rather competitively priced. Unfortunately, it was primarily filled with lettuce and tomatoes, with an OK amount lobster meat. She didn't care for the celery and green onion mixed in, not traditional lobster roll ingredients. I had the perch tacos, a first for me. Again, novel idea but lacking on execution. A few thin fish strips in each taco were more breading than fish. My wife couldn't have more than one sip of her cocktail and my IPA was warm. Anything waterside will have a natural appeal but the furniture and seating area is nothing more than a sidewalk. $61 for a serve yourself concession stand experience is more fitting for a stadium or sports arena.
