I hadn't heard of this restaurant until a friend suggested it as a place to meet up for dinner, and I'm so glad they did. We went on a Friday night and it was incredibly busy--which I always take as a good sign. Even with the crowd, they had us seated within ten minutes and quickly got menus in our hands. The menu had so many great options that it was almost overwhelming (in the best way). I ended up ordering a chicken chimichanga and an enchilada, and both were absolutely delicious--so good that I've already asked my friend if she wants to go back again tonight. We also ordered drinks, and those were just as enjoyable. The staff took great care of us, checking in and making sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. Overall, such a great experience and definitely a spot I'll be coming back to. Tons of places to sit whether you're a small party or a big one. On a good note the service was excellent and the place was clean. Sad to say this was the worst fajitas I have ever had. I have tried fajitas all over the US, Mexico and Costa Rica, not good. When the fajitas came out all you could see was onions and onions and more onions, a small amount of green bell pepper cut up really small, that was it besides the scant amount of small pieces of chicken. No taste to the meal, it was very bland. The extra hot salsa she brought me was very good, arbol pepper sauce. Kind of a smokey flavor with lots of bite, it was very good. Today my husband and I drove to Nampa to try out Casa Robles. What a wonderful surprise this restaurant was. It's in a strip mall on Greenhurst. We got there about 11:30 and the restaurant had quite a few tables filled already but they got us into a booth right away. The menu was terrific and I went with my standard Chili Verde burrito because that is how I judge all Mexican restaurants. The plate was full (photo taken when I was finally able to get to my camera). I couldn't believe how wonderful and tender the pork was. It was a huge burrito with rice and beans on the side. I'm not ashamed to say I finished it all (see third photo). My husband had the three enchilada plate and he loved it. We've been visiting Casa Robles since it opened, after being long-time fans of Chapala's on 12th. While we loved Chapala's, the move to Casa Robles made sense since it's closer. Initially, the food didn't quite meet our expectations, but we gave it another chance, and things seemed to improve. However, in recent take-out orders, we've encountered some consistency issues. On multiple occasions, something has been missing from our order, and the quality of the food has varied drastically. For example, we ordered a dish tonight that I had enjoyed at the restaurant a couple of weeks ago. Tonight, however, it lacked the meat I remembered and was overloaded with green peppers (which weren't part of the dish last time). It also seemed to have very few other ingredients. We've had similar issues with the chicken taco salad and a couple other menu items a few times as well. I'm unsure if this inconsistency is due to changes in kitchen staff or something else, but it's been noticeable. When Casa Robles gets it right, the food is fantastic! Unfortunately, the inconsistency has been a recurring problem. Because of this, we will return to Chapala's, where our favorite dishes are more reliably consistent, despite the occasional off day. I don't usually leave reviews, let alone lower reviews, especially since the owner is such a nice guy, but I think it's important to provide feedback on the quality and consistency. The portion sizes, ingredients, and overall consistency could use some quality control. With dining out being a rare treat these days, it's crucial to have that dependable experience. The take-out side of the business seems to need more attention, and perhaps it's not their main focus?? We've noticed errors or missing items in our take-out orders almost every time, so I would advise always double-checking when you order. Service inside the restaurant is always great, but take-out could use some work. We hope Casa Robles can iron out these issues, as we do love the place when they nail it and know how tough the restaurant business can be, hubby owned one in Boise years ago, so we get it! Hadn't been here in about a year but tried it last night. Noticed there prices had increased which is understandable, but at the same time there's been a major shrinkflation. Before I was never able to finish a Casa Burrito. Last night it appeared to be about Hal the size of what it used to be. In addition, their menu says "choice of meat" but now the charge for carne asada with no mention of the $2 charge for it. Probably wont be back and will stick to Dos Caminos read more

I always judge a Mexican restaurant by their salsa, and this one by far has the best! First time going to this place a couple of weeks ago. And wow! What a surprise we had with this little gem. Authentic six dimensional flavors! Not the blah boring usual serving of flat Mexican food. This place will charm your taste buds and coax you into returning again and again. Very good Mexican food! Large menu, great salsa, lots of seating available. We came in for lunch on a Sunday. Early enough to beat the crowd. So we didn't have to wait to be seated. The table was clean, but one of the hostesses was swatting flies as we were seated. I know, it's that time of year and kind of unavoidable, but not what I want to see when I'm being seated. At least she had a towel and disinfectant with her that she was using. We were brought chips and salsa quickly. At the same time asked for our drink order. Hubby got Dr Pepper and I ordered a Michelada, with Modelo Especial. I watched as the waiter poured a bottle of Corona into the glass. Definitely a language barrier, but I didn't complain and it was still very good. I got a combo with a chili relleno and cheese enchilada. Hubby got a Platter with a chimichanga, enchilada, and carne asada. He got pork in both the chimichanga and enchilada and both were very good. The carne asada was literally a few pieces of grilled steak. Not much seasoning, but cooked well and very tender. Hubby coated it in some of my enchilada sauce and it was exactly what it needed. My dish wad good. Love the Spanish rice! My cheese enchilada had a tortilla that needed to be cooked a bit and a lot of what looked like pre-shredded unmelted cheese. A first for me. I only order cheese enchiladas and have never had one that didn't have cheese oozing out. We'd definitely go back. Overall the food and service were good. I got the banderas, 3 different filings .. they were pretty good, shredded beef was a bit salty and the shrimp one had way too much pico in it.. but the beans and rice were way above average. Great little family owned Mexican restaurant next to a lot of neighborhoods. The service was great, we were greeted at the door and got seated quickly. I noticed the restaurant was very clean, and all the tables were occupied or wiped down and ready for the next guests. The waitress Betty was really friendly and made sure we were taken care of with refreshments right away. After reviewing the menu I still wasn't sure what I wanted, so with the recommendation of Betty I went with the Burrito Blanco. The food came out quickly and it was just the right temperature. This burrito was large and hit the spot. It was super flavorful and the cilantro gave it the perfect amount of freshness, while the Queso added a nice savory aspect. Overall my experience was awesome, and I loved the kick in the table salsa. Would definitely recommend Casa Robles to anyone looking for a great Mexican restaurant in Nampa! read more

Just a refreshing change to the streamline Mexican restaurants in the area. Everything tastes so fresh and not canned. Service was great and the atmosphere was conformable. We arrived a little pre-dinner, so we got right in, but by time we left, a line was beginning to form. Acceptable considering it was Friday night.
