This is a great place to take a group for lunch. Made reservations a couple weeks ago, arrived early yesterday before they opened. A server saw us with our classic cars standing outside and invited us in. Tables already set up, waters poured, drinks ordered and delivered. Newish menu easy to read the categories, lunch specials on the back. One server for thirteen of us, efficient, got special requests on food correct, and used a rolling cart to bring most of the orders out. Hot food, free tortilla chips and dips and replacements. The creamy chicken dish, burritos and tamale were excellent. Nothing fancy on taco salad, sauces for the combinations, but still basic and pretty good. Love the fun decor.

Are there better options for Mexican food in the Treasure Valley? Yes. Is it the tastiest Mexican food I've ever had? No. Would I still come back though? Yeah! I've been to this location a couple times and in my experience, it's good.. maybe not great but still good. I appreciate that they have actual Mexicans working here both at the front of the house and in the kitchen ... that might not be a big deal to some but not every Mexican restaurant around here does and those ones have menus that tend to really lack in the authenticity and flavor department more often than not lol the staff that I've met here are very kind as well. I also really appreciate the healthier menu options and not just taco salad or some fajitas. Not that there's anything wrong with taco salad or fajitas.. taco salads and fajitas are delicious but that can get old pretty fast when that's all you order from similar establishments ! I got the Skinny enchiladas this time which have shredded chicken in corn tortillas topped with a light sour cream sauce, cilantro and BIG avocado slices. It's $15 and on the small side so not the best bang for your buck but I'm on a weight loss journey and doing Semiglutide injections.. and I'm not being lazy expecting the weight to just fall off me without changes to diet or exercise routine.. I'm trying to help the shots work for me by making healthier choices even when I'm on the go and eating out and this meal happened to fit into my day and my lifestyle. The dish normally comes with chips and salsa but I asked them not give me any as that just adds carbs and calories, ect and on these shots I tend to get full alot faster so I really wouldn't need them to get full anyways. It's not somewhere I'd go to often but it is close to one of my workplaces and I'll for sure return when I get a craving for enchiladas again!

This is what they call a tostada.

It's ok. Tried it on recommendation but it's basic. No fresh flavors. We won't go back. The service was very good though.

    Caldo de Res

Our taste buds really enjoyed El Gallo. The food we ordered was tasty and came out hot...Caldo de Res, Carne Borracha, and two tacos. The rice and beans are average. The staff were exceptional and the restaurant is clean. We would visit here again.

Wow, I really don't understand the good reviews. Ordered the carnitas through Uber Eats. Carnitas are normally roasted and/or fried pork chunks nicely seasoned with spices. What I got looked, smelled, and tasted like canned tuna. I'm not exaggerating at all, if I was to blind-taste this I would 100% bet money that it was canned tuna packed in water. I like tuna, when I'm in the mood for it and don't have to pay 20 bucks a plate for it. The refried beans were decent, and the guacamole was not very fresh. The rice tasted like they just dumped an entire container of cumin in it and called it a day. Flour tortillas were chewy. I'm really having trouble understanding all the good reviews. Maybe they were having a bad night? Either way I'm not doing this again. Edited to add at the request of my husband: he is full blooded Mexican, and spit the food out when I gave him some to try.

The food was great and inexpensive and the service was welcoming and nice especially the busser I'm pretty sure his name was Marcus great experience overall

I like all the meats, except "tongue".

This time I tried the Lucky Irish Steakburger with fries. This burger has Swiss Cheese and grilled onions on rye bread. Very good. There were five men in our party, and she offered separate checks, which I really appreciated. I'm sure I'll be back.

It's a nice sports bar theme, but also welcoming and cozy. Once we sat down, a server came over immediately with menus. It seemed like she was the only server though, which made me feel badly for her...she never stopped moving the entire time we were there with taking orders, serving, refilling drinks, taking payments, etc. We had a party of four - I ordered the "Hail Mary" (2 patties, onion rings, bbq sauce, bacon, American cheese and pickles), hubby had the double steak burger and my friends ordered "The Big Hurt" and "Bullet Work". Bonus points for having multiple fries options (regular, garlic, French fry dippers and sweet potato), but unfortunately for me, they were out of sweet potato. Food came out relatively quickly and everything looked pretty delicious. My burger was bigger than I expected, which I appreciated. The onion ring was the perfect size for the patty and the drizzle of BBQ sauce was enough to flavor the burger without drowning it. The only downside was that the bacon wasn't crispy enough and the cheese was barely melted. The patties had some nice, crispy edges and the bun was soft even though it was toasted. It might have been bumped up a notch with some mayo on the bun, an extra slice of cheese and lettuce, but overall, it was a nice, very filling, burger. The fries were perfectly seasoned, slightly battered and the fry sauce was a great compliment. Everyone finished their meals and raved about how much they liked their burgers. Due to the one server taking care of so many tables, we didn't see her again until it was time for the check. Thankfully the water glasses were enormous and I luckily made it through dinner with just enough to drink. We would definitely visit again to check out all the great options on this menu!

I've been coming here ever since I've moved to Idaho, which was before I started posting reviews…read more One of the reasons I started posting reviews online was because I wanted small, but unique gem places (like this one) to get noticed, especially when you've consistently been receiving A1 service. First off, this bar is connected to Westy's Garden Lanes (a bowling alley), but this review is solely on the bar. This is a Pittsburgh Steelers bar. I was completely surprised when I heard about this place being a Steelers bar, especially all the way out here in Idaho. I was shocked the first time I can here when the Steelers were playing, the whole bar was filled with people wearing Steelers jerseys watching the game. I felt right at home, and if you're a Steelers fan, the people here will welcome you in with open arms. Inside the bar they have at least 8 or so HD TVs mounted above the tables that usually have the other NFL games on (or baseball, basketball, etc), and 1 big projector that displays the main game (Steelers on most NFL weekends) with a sound system that plays the audio from the main projector throughout the bar. They've actually remodeled the place and expanded it since I've been coming here. Once you walk past the projector screen, there's now a second room with pool tables, and additional TVs. Not only is this a Steelers bar, but it's also a Cleveland Browns bar as well. Browns fans do come and watch the Browns here (you just HAVE to respect their dedication & loyalty lol). As for the food, I have always enjoyed it. I'm not picky about my food, so I pretty much enjoy eating out anywhere, so perhaps SOME might say the food is greasy, but to me it's actually quite good. It's a very simple menu, I usually get the Widow Burger, which is pretty big and surprisingly fresh. Sometimes I also order just a large fry to nibble on while sipping some IPA beer, and the fries are crispy and fresh. Having said all of this, I primarily wanted to write this review on the service here. There's a gentleman with glasses and short spiky hair (I believe people call him Mike?) that is a bartender and server, and he really busts his butt running around on Steelers' game days. With the amount of people that attend the games, I'm surprised how well he remembers what you ordered to drink and when you need a refill. There are additional servers that help him out, which are also fantastic, but this guy really is great. The combination of the great service and friendly people here really make you feel welcome. I really wanted to keep this review short, sweet, and to the point, but it gets hard when you've really enjoyed coming here. I try to come down here every Steelers game, because watching the game with other fans is way better than at home. The food is surprisingly good (for me at least), the atmosphere is great, and the service is fantastic. The best part? THIS IS A STEELERS BAR...All the way out here in IDAHO... AWESOME 5 stars ALL DAY LONG FAM.

I have to say that while the fresh-cut fries were okay though the portion was a bit small, the hamburger was absolutely horrible. I hate to waste food though I had to actually throw out most of it as both the burger and bun were badly burned--and the bacon for which I paid extra--was cold and seemed to have been cooked many hours before as it was also seriously overcooked, dry, and almost inedible especially as the entire sandwich tasted like other things that must have been on the grill or the grill was overdue to be cleaned as there was a strong, "off" smell. They forgot the pickle that I requested so the photo provided shows a pickle and some ketchup I added at home trying to save it though the bun was clearly black as was the burned and completely dried out burger. I was fine with waiting extra time as they were presumably slammed with orders from bowlers but they also had to replate it was they did not package it for "to go" though that was on the ticket--apparently the kitchen did not see it so that added even more time.

And with the view by the patio, how can it not be the most perfect setting to enjoy my birthday dinner. We just stuck with water since it was on the warmer side today. We just went straight in for dinner. As much as the appetizers sounded lovely, I was ready for the main event. So for dinner tonight I ordered the charboiled salmon with seasonal veggies in place of the salad. My salmon was plated beautifully with nice char marks on it. The veggies were a variety of squash and were sautéed nicely. And you can tell visually that they were seasoned nicely with spices and herbs. I dug right into my salmon. My first couple bites were delicious. I did spread some of the sun dried tomato butter on my salmon. The butter was fantastic! It added a nice flavor element to the salmon. After I ate about a a fourth of my salmon, I noticed that it was not cooked all the way through in the middle. With my new kidney, I can't have rare or undercooked fish. My immune system can't handle a parasite if the fish were to potentially contain any. I shouldn't have assumed that it was going to be cooked all the way since our server didn't ask how well I wanted it cooked. I did have to send it back and have another one remade. While my new fish was being prepared, my server gave me a small salad plate to transfer my veggies to. I got to work on them so I wasn't staring at my family eat. The veggies were cooked perfectly. They weren't overly soft or still raw. It had a nice bite to them while still being tender. Unfortunately, they were overly seasoned and was on the saltier side. I was hungry so I polished them off. But I did have to drink a good amount of water to help with the saltiness. Thank goodness the portion was on the daintier side. As hungry as I was, it would have been bad if it was a bigger portion. All that salt would not be good on my new kidney. My second round of salmon came out. Was it as pretty as my first plate, no but it will do. I'm sure they set the flame on high, let it sit on the grill for a while and then flipped it to cook the other side. I have cooked salmon well done plenty of times and have it come out tender. When you cook for a living, having cooking times for your dishes should be down to a science in your kitchen. Unfortunately, the salmon was super dry and flavorless. As hungry as I was, I ate it. The butter did help with the dryness of the salmon. But I shouldn't have to rely on butter to make the dish edible. For my birthday, I got a free dessert. I chose the gluten free carrot cake. My cousin eats a gluten free diet so I thought this cake would be perfect for all of us. I enjoyed the cake very much! The cake was moist. The spices in the cake were fragrant and very noticeable in each bite. I loved the frosting on the cake. Since the cake wasn't overly sweet, the frosting added a nice sweetness to it. I enjoyed the cake very much! Our server did a mid job. There were times when she would be gone for long periods of time and we had to wait for her. The patio was perfect with its stunning view. Dinner was ok but dessert was fabulous. Overall it was a decent experience. I do look forward to coming back and enjoying the outdoor patio with my husband for a date night. I just know now to make sure I vocalize everything to my server so I don't end up with dry salmon again. I do want to come back and have a better experience.
