This spot is small and intimate with only a few tables, and the vibes were great. Feels lively but still cozy. Service was amazing. Super attentive, checking in often without being too much. 9.5/10. The loud music makes it tough to hear other tables, but since the seating is close and intimate, you can still easily hear the people you're with, which I actually liked. Food was elevated across the board. The tostada de toro was the standout. So fresh, perfectly balanced, creamy from the avocado with a nice crunch from the shell and sesame seeds. 9.5/10. Everything else was solid and flavorful, just not as memorable. Around 7.5/10 across those dishes. Drinks were good too. The daiquiri had a fun bubble gum flavor that I actually liked. 8/10. The corn sour was interesting with the mezcal base and surprisingly worked. 7/10. Loved that the drinks were strong. Overall, a really solid Michelin experience with great vibes and standout bites.

TLDR: 500% YES. JUST BOOK IT. Dry-aged Toro... never have I ever had that before and I feel like I've been missing out a little. Uni Aguachile was also phenomenal. Honestly, just order one of each from the menu bc you really can't go wrong with whatever is on the menu! We definitely ordered quite a bit for the two of us (and there are some dishes that I forgot to take pics of). The Arroz a La Tumbada De Hongos was like a warm hug in your belly. No other way to describe this comforting feeling lol. And you really can't go wrong with getting their pork belly either. Their menu is small enough that I know you'll be able to eat thru the entire thing. I have faith in you. Also, for a Michelin-started restaurant, everything here was surprisingly reasonably priced!! We were expecting to take a second mortgage on our house, but we didn't have to! Just our first born. Jk jk.

Excellent restaurant, and amazing dining experience overall. My boyfriend and I came in and sat at the chefs counter for dinner for our anniversary and had the best time. The food is spectacular and the service is just as great, the servers are attentive, helpful and very friendly to chat with. The tuna tostada is a must order, though every bite was fantastic. The cocktails are unique and delicious as well. We cannot wait to return and try more dishes.

This use to be ProsperOats but Mezcaleria Alma did amazing job transforming this limited space into cozy but modern eatery. A Intimate, rustic-chic, with a chef's counter and bar seating. Definitely a place to interact. We were gifted to come and experience this restaurant. Originally, our first visit was to Alteño and did enjoy the offering that was presented in unique way. One thing that stood out was the dry aging Toro on display at the mezcaleria. We have tried most of their flag ship offerings. Two things that stood out for me was the tostada de toro and Costilla de res. Of course, I had check Yelp photos and reviews before coming and those two stood out. We did order few other dishes. All of them were delicious in very unique way. Very different. Servers were very professional, changed out the utensils between meals and always within reach if you had questions. $150 later, we were happy!

Mezcaleria Alma is absolutely AMAZING!! Tonight my beautiful wife and I came here for date night and Chef Jorge totally showed us the love!! Every plate we tried was beautiful and tasted absolutely delicious! I can totally understand why this place made the NYT top restaurants in the US list. The service is phenomenal, the food is phenomenal and the final bill was totally reasonable. Go here if you want a beautiful dining experience with someone special!

Great experience. Amazing flavors in combinations you wouldn't make at home. The service is top notch! Looking forward to trying the other Curiel restaurants in Denver!

Wow. Seriously wow. I've never said this before, but if there was a 6 star option on Yelp, Mezcaleria Alma would get it. Everything is perfection from the delicious food, the outstanding service, and the beautiful decor. I know this sounds like hyperbole but dining here was an experience I'll never forget. Let's start with the food. Everything was perfection. Our favorite was the aguachile de erizo (scallops and uni). The Santa Barbara uni is to die for. I'm not even a fan of uni nor scallops but the dish was so good especially with the aguachile. Do not skip that dish especially if you like a little bit of spicy. The Tostada del Toro was next up. This is the dish that everyone gets here and for good reason. First off, look at all those chives. The tostada shell was amazing with a nice charred taste to it and the aged toro (aged 3-6 days) was so flavorful and melted in the mouth. The burrata con huitlacoche was the most unique burrata dish I have ever had. The combination of the toasted bread, savory burrata, sweet nut crunch, and the unique taste of huitlacoche (Mexican caviar) was so well-done and just all fit so well together. Last but not least, the tres leches. Hands down, the best dessert I have ever had. Not too sweet and just heavenly. Do not skip this. I'm pretty sure I said "wow" after every bite. Second, drinks. I love mezcal. If you are a fan of mezcal or tequila, this place is a must go. I was given a free birthday shot with a side of crickets (I hate bugs but try it, it's actually really good), orange, and wormsalt. We got the Stinger and Colada. I was warned that the Stinger is a love it or hate it drink. I personally enjoyed it but it is very in your face with the herbal taste. The Colada is much easier. Last but not least, the service. Jorge, the sous chef, deserves 6 stars alone. He really elevated our experience which was already great to next level. He took care of us professionally while also being very personable. I would highly recommend getting a seat at the chef's table if you can. If you are celebrating an occasion, trying to impress a date, or just want a phenomenal meal, I can't recommend Mezcaleria Alma enough. I'll be back soon!

Definitely need a reservation but was able to sneak in for an hour earlier in night before rush. Wow is all I can say! Everything was perfect from flavor to presentation! Very reasonably priced for how good this place is! Cant wait to come back and try happy hour next door next time! Highly recommend!

I have only been here two other times but it's been quite a while so I was excited to get back. We had a wonderful time and the food was phenomenal. My only dislike was the Aguachile with Uni, but I think I've just determined that I don't like Uni, as personal preference. I'm sure if you like uni - you'll like this dish. Service was top notch. The beet spritz was so refreshing and spirit forward. I loved it! The ambience is super cute even though it's all high tops which isn't my favorite since I'm short and my feet dangle. I was really looking forward to the tres leches and I have to say I was a little disappointed. Even though the cake was soaked in milk, I could tell the cake was a bit dry. But all the other dishes we got were 10/10! Will be back

I've been trying to get a reservation here for a few months and finally got in last night. After being highly recommended by multiple people, this place did not let me down. We split a few things, including the tuna crudo, burrata, and the short rib. My favorites were the tuna crudo and the short rib. I also ordered the corn sour, which was awesome-very similar to the corn margarita they have at their sister restaurant next-door. Our server was also great. The service was very friendly and she was always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant is small inside, but really cute. Love the set up of the bar in the kitchen facing the tables. Will definitely be back.

Wow! This place was incredible! Honestly, just try one of everything. We arrived early to our reservation and the host kindly asked us to wait outside and turned on the heater outside. We were offered drinks while we waited and had a chance to enjoy them outside while we waited for our table. Once at our table, our server was amazing and happy to explain the menu style and make recommendations. We ordered and put appetizers came out in a timely manner. I didn't get a picture of the tostada but I highly recommend it! It was such a stand out. The pork belly was also great. It came with 2 fresh tortillas to make tacos - they were so good! They only had one dessert, but it was so rich that it's all you could need. The music was amazing! It reminded me of the songs I would listen to on Saturday mornings back home. It was so fun and it was loud to where you could dance in your seat a bit Overall, the vibes in here were just incredible and just so good!! Can't wait to come back!

    Costillal de Res
    Aurie J.

If I could give 3 1/2 stars I would. First impressions were that it was a cute spot, the staff were nice but not overly friendly. The drinks were fantastic, the Colada was superb! Most of the food however was just ok. I'll start with the highlight of my dinner which was the Crudo de Kanpachi the roasted corn was such a lovely accompaniment to the dish it was a well balanced, fresh and flavorful dish. Now to my woes, I had been looking forward to the most talked about dish the Tostada de Toro but I felt like the spicy oil on top overpowered the dish and I really wanted the fatty tuna to shine more. The Flautas de Pollo were flat and underwhelming, the best part of the dish were the pickled onions, but it wasn't enough to save the dish. The Costillal de Res was under seasoned and underwhelming, the fresh tortillas were lovely though. I really had high expectations that weren't fully met but over all I don't regret trying Mezcaleria Alma it was still a nice experience for the mezcal and drinks!

    Negroni! Delightful!
    Erin S.

Once again, an amazing meal was had at the hands of chef Johnny Curiel. Mezcaleria Alma serves up a different selection of food, this time to pay homage to Mexico City. It is simply, exquisite here! After perusing the cocktail menu, I landed on the Negroni. Perfection! For food, we selected a few things from the "Garnachas". We started with the Mollete De Mejillones which was divine. Not at all fishy and the fried sourdough bread-omg, so good! Literally could eat this every day! Next, was the Burrata Con Huitlacoche. Again, with the fried sourdough bread! So good! The bread paired with the fresh heirloom tomatoes with burrata...literally chef's kiss. I had to try the Flautas De Pollo as my "main entree". Crispy tortillas, deliciously seasoned chicken, and the mole blanco sauce - so, so good. We did order one more item, unnecessary based on how full we were, but that didn't stop me from trying a bite of the Burrita De Guisado. The pork belly was tender, cooked perfectly, and seasoned to perfection. We sat at the chef's table and were taken great care of by all the staff. Mezcaleria Alma is a more intimate space than Chef Curiel's other restaurants; this is not a negative at all! Loved the meal and can't wait to go back! Thank you for such a great dining experience!

Shout to the team for having our table ready when we got there even though it was very busy that day. We started off with the Fall Salad and I think it was one of my favorite things we ordered. I had no idea beets can be that delicious! After that, everything else came out: roasted carrots, barramundi, and wagyu flank steak. They also put in an order or pommes frites (French fries) on accident and decided to give it to us on the house. Thanks! The roasted carrots were really good and sweet. You could tell they were quality carrots. The barramundi was another one of my favorites. I'm a fan of fish and they did an excellent job of cooking the barramundi with a great sauce(?) that tasted great with it. I found the wagyu steak flank overcooked and really salty which was disappointing given the price. The pommes frites were cooked well but also extremely salty. Overall, I would recommend Sunday Vinyl if you are trying to take someone to a place that is unique and don't mind paying a bit extra. It is a bit loud in there (we had to raise our voices a bit to hold a conversation) but it is also a vinyl place so you would expect them to show off their music.

The poached cod was also great, especially the sauce. The drinks were just as strong. The L5 margarita with salt foam was really good, and even the frosé, which I usually skip, worked perfectly here. The vibe is a big part of it. The downtown views are hard to beat and the patio is easily one of the better ones in the city. Inside also feels intentional and well designed. Service was excellent. Loved the perfectly chewy ropes of bucatini tangled with crumbled blue cheese, Castelvetrano olives -- and vodka sauce? This should've been a weird disaster, but wound up being our table's favorite dish. Every dish is a commitment to the genuinely unexpected. There was something delightfully more than just salt, pepper and fry behind the eggroll-sized mozarella sticks. Then there was the fig gelato, flanked by warm pear -- and oh my gosh, the apple tart! We had to go back and reread the menu to realize that the caramel really was spicy! This kitchen really finds the funky note in a dish and leans into it. Come ready to share. Every item comes in a "single" and a "mingle" size, which was great for our table of four. We would order 1-2 mingle-sized items, pass them around, and argue about who gets the last forkful. The rough edge is perhaps the service, but this spot is new and finding its rhythm. We found the handoff between counter and floor to be clunky, since it felt like pressure to order in order to be seated, not to order drinks and wait for a table. Maybe this works in a larger space. Maybe they just need to smooth out the flow. Either way, the people are sweet, and the food delicious.

Plus it's a local shop, and I'm all about supporting local, particularly during this time. I pulled up Cask and Craft's website and was super happy to see the list of precautions they are taking to keep their customers safe. Some of these precautions include only 2 people in the shop at a time, use provided hand sanitizer when you enter, and even curbside pick up/delivery. Since I was sitting in front of the store, I figured I'd just go in, get what I needed, and quickly head home. I was greeted and asked to use the hand sanitizer upon entering - yes, thank you. I then explained from a distance that I was looking for a dark beer, preferably a stout. I was escorted to the back of the store and shown the fridge with all the dark beer. WOW! big selection. I had the choice of 6 packs, 4 packs, or mix and match. This was perfect for me because I needed 5 beers. I ended up selecting Jackie O's Java the Stout. When I brought up my 5 pack, the owner told me it was a great beer (one of his favorite dark beers) and that it was a solid choice. He was not wrong. Bedlam was recommended to us for late night drinks by staff working in one of the restaurants at our hotel. During our short stay in Denver, we went to Bedlam twice. The second time was around 12:30 on a Saturday night when we came in for a night cap. The first time we came in, it wasn't too busy, and we were encouraged to sit wherever we wanted. The bar was full so we chose a small table. Our server gave us menus, though specials were written on a chalkboard above the bar.
