I checked into this hotel on December 14, 2018 and was given a rate of $315 for 4 nights. They…read moretook off an authorization for the amount. On Monday night I extended for 1 night and was quoted 79.83. I went down to the front desk to have my card swiped. And keys reset and the manager on site who name is Derick was rude as ever. On Tuesday morning my daughter gets a call from the front office that my card had declined for the payment and that we needed a card on file by the end of day. I called my bank because I knew that we had more than enough funds to cover. After speaking to my bank and confirmed that funds we're authorized for the total amount of my stay I did a conference call with bank and the manager Derrick who argued with me and the bank teller who was explaining to him that those authorizations were held and all he needed to do was release them. He stated to bank you're the damn bank you fix it. During the conversation the general manager walked in and took over the conversation and he couldn't find the payment on the hotel at first but went to credit card transactions and saw the holds for the funds that way and stated Thai owed $80 and that I would be good. On Tuesday night I called to front desk to extend for 2 days and was quoted $147 for the 2 nights I transferred the money to account and went to front desk and was told that card was charged for that amount Later on in the evening I had noticed that they had only taken 79.83 so called front desk and spoke with Stephanie and asked why had they only taken that amount she asked the manager Derrick and he said that everything was ok and they had everything under control. The next morning my daughter gets a call that our card was declined. So I call front office to ask what do you mean? He said that we owed 80 I was frustrated so I paid 60 over the phone and told my daughter to go down to pay the remaining $10. She goes to front desk and was greeted by Sarah Who is the owner my daughter tells her I'm here to pay $20 on room. She goes uh no. First you need to pay for last night and was rude to her. So I call from work and talk to Sarah for her to be a owner and in the hospitality business she talked to me like I was crap and even though everything was her staff fault she tried to talk me out of staying other night there since bridges had been burnt! Smh. I spent over $600 and the treatment my family and I got was terrible! It's sad because people should not be in this business and act the way that they did! Horrible horrible customer service and dirty rooms

Great experience, and great customer service. Will definitely be back if ever in the area again…read more Thank you to the staff for being so accommodating.

It's even a few steps above glamping as it should be for the steep price. However, if you want to experience a few days in a great outdoors The Ranch at Emerald Valley is perfect. After 4 nights at the Broadmoor resort (also amazing) we took the 2pm shuttle up a rocky mountain road to the Ranch. We were greeted by Aaron, a fellow Northwestern alum (go Wildcats) and his incredible staff. There were 38 people total our first night there, which the told us was a record for the Ranch. It didn't feel very crowded though (especially after the craziness of the resort) and most of the people had kids the same age as ours which was a lot of fun. They showed us to our cabin, Hills Cabin, which I realized was the "presidential cabin." It was a huge 2 bedroom cabin that had enough room for 6 kids up in loft up top and a beautiful master suite. + 3 bathrooms and a ginormous kitchen/dining room that we didn't really put to use. It also have a big TV with Netflix and a lovely fireplace. There's a 3rd bedroom that's attached to it, although the 2nd night we were there it was rented by another couple with a separate entrance. There's plenty of fun to be had at the ranch: horseback riding, paddleboats/kayaks, archery, fishing, hiking etc. And if you get a rainy afternoon there are plenty of board games to play both in the lodge and in the cabin. We spent 2 nights here, although with the rain wish we had an extra night to enjoy some of the activities we didn't have a chance to squeeze in. The food was absolutely amazing. My picky children were even in heaven and my little guy has been asking for lobster ever since trying it as their Wed night cookout. Dinners besides the twice a week cookout involves ordering off a menu with plenty of choices for all. I do wish they did a better job with labeling the buffet with food allergies. My son has a serious nut allergy and almost ate a brownie with walnuts because it wasn't labeled and I had to constantly ask if things had nuts and/or gluten in them. They asked for our dietary restrictions ahead of time so assumed they'd be better about this. This really was a very special experience that I think our kids will remember for a long time. I heard this coming week a big family is renting out the entire ranch and I'd love to do the same with family and/or friends at some point, although it was fun getting to know some lovely people from around the country as well.

Then the wind shifted and there is a water treatment plant directly behind us spot 151. The smell of raw sewage is so bad you cant go outside around the extras that we paid for. So for 1500.00 we sit in the camper instead of around the fire pit. They should let people know when booking or put it on the map online indicating the water treatment plant is only 50 yards away or so. Hopefully the wind will shift once again... Other than the smell its a great park, just stay away from the West side of the park.

It was dirty, poorly maintained, and not at all what we expected for the price! The only staff member who was genuinely helpful and friendly was Dianne at the check-in desk. The rest of the experience left a lot to be desired. I would not recommend paying for a cabin here. If you have an RV, it might be a better value since you bring your own space. Even for what we paid, the food was noticeably overpriced. On top of that, you have to pay extra for bowling and the arcade games, which adds up quickly with a family. A few logistical issues made things more frustrating: the golf cart check-in/out times didn't align with the actual park check-in/out times, which created unnecessary confusion and frustration. My biggest concern was a safety incident where another guest became aggressive and I felt threatened. I had to call the local police, which drew additional and unnecessary attention. I believe there is a need for on-site security for quicker and less criminal situations. Overall, the price we paid did not match the quality of our stay. As it stands, I probably wouldn't return or recommend it for cabin stays (even with a credit). Maybe for RV only if the other issues are addressed.
