One of my go to Mexican restaurants on this side of town, and I feel if a hidden gem out here. I'm thankful that's its convent and really thankful that the food is always one point. The food is always flavorful, the queso w/ jalapeños is soo good and they stack their nachos . And they have real street tacos! But truly the restaurant is just the right size, I have never felt crowded by others. Note, It does get loud later in the night due to the connected bar, but it's tolerable...The staff is very friendly, always and the servers are very attentive. read more

We went to Casa Tequila Mexican Restaurant for the first time Saturday afternoon and the experience did not did not disappoint. They were celebrating their fourth anniversary and the specials brought us in to try it. We ordered $4 frozen house margaritas, $4 beef quesadillas and $4 shredded chicken tacos, and a small chunky guacamole appetizer. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The restaurant was clean. The service from Aldo was great and he took care of us in the midst of a busy lunch crowd. The food was so flavorful. The chunky guacamole was some of the freshest that I've had in a while and best I've tried in this area too. When looking at the menu, I was impressed by the great pricing and diverse selection (plantains , spicy chicken poppers and different fajitas and burritos). The pros were we were seated quickly even though it was crowded. Edgar our waiter was super polite and accommodating. The complementary chips and salsa were delicious. The salsa is a little spicy and a bit sweet, but I liked it. The Camerones Diablo I ordered was a mixed bag. The shrimp was delicious with just enough heat to be pleasing, but the rice and refried beans lacked flavor and the only thing that saved these sides was that I mixed my shrimp in with them. This was an after work choice since my daughter said she wanted to sit down to eat. I picked this place based on the Yelp reviews. Food: Very hot and fresh. I love my salsa spicy, and theirs had a very nice kick to it. I ordered a fajita with all the meats. Side plate came with rice, refried beans, lettuce, tomatoes, tortilla, normal sides. My plate cane out HOT and SIZZLING like it said. Sides were fresh. My boyfriend got the nachos with all meats and peppers. We both had more than enough to take home. I actually ended up eating my boyfriends plate like a day or 2 later, and it was still GOOD! My daughter did grill shrimp and fries, which she also enjoyed. Service: When we walked in, the service was prompt, and we were seated quickly. The waitress did an alright job of coming around. She was more present before we got our food than after. I guess she was letting us eat. Service all in all wasn't too bad. Drinks: we ordered a small pitcher as I thought getting 2 separate drinks would be the same as a pitcher. Well, when we got the "pitcher,yaaaa I was a little upset. My boyfriend and I looked at each other like wait you playing right?" As you can tell by the "pitcher," it's definitely a small. This was a Texas margarita. My boyfriend said it was the worst Texas margarita he ever had. For me, it was already given me a little buzz, but then again, I'm a lightweight lol. So for those of you that don't know, my food love language is all things MEXICAN! I had the pleasure of eating at this spot on yesterday with friends. It's definitely not a large place, but just large enough to still be accommodating for a party of 15, which we were. The staff quickly got us seated and got menus out to us. They took no time getting the drink orders and making sure we got water to the table. The noise level was good for conversation. The ambience was what you'd expect for a Mexican spot. I've been on a quest to find the best birria tacos in metro Atlanta and happened to stumble upon Casa Tequila during my Google search. While a few reviews on the birrias seemed promising, I couldn't help but notice that people were claiming this spot to be the best Mexican restaurant in Douglasville albeit a hidden gem. Oh really?! So I grabbed the hubby, dressed our toddler and drove right over on a Friday afternoon because WHY NOT?! Let me first say that I can appreciate that the hostess tell you to sit wherever you like haha It's the little things that matter especially when you have a toddler and don't want to wait for someone to simply escort you to a booth. So we immediately found a spot, sat ourselves and they followed with the salsa and chips. So far? I'm loving it. Our waiter comes by to take our drink orders, and I noticed that they have shrimp ceviche on their menu. Now a bit of background, before my birria quest, I was on a journey to locate ANY restaurant that had ceviche, because for some odd reason, no one includes them on their menus. Who wants a shrimp cocktail?! Give me ceviche, and not the mini cup size that looks like a scoop of tuna tar tar, I mean the big bowl of the good stuff. So while I was slightly disappointed to see their ceviche was shrimp only, I didn't care - bring me some NEOW! And bring some they did, and it was absolutely delicious! The portion was a plate full and they offered to give me saltine crackers, which obviously accepted. I'll be honest, I'd go back for the ceviche alone, every single time. Seriously. Oh yeah the drinks lol I planned on ordering a mezcalrita which has been my off menu go to lately, but lo and behold, they had it on their menu! So of course I ordered a 20oz and was pleased. Can't go wrong with mezcal though. Hubby had something that he drank pretty fast but said was amazing, our waiter offered our son mango water, which I was personally surprised they even had since most places don't. Let me tell you, I love mango water and had to fight my kid for a sip lol Hubby ordered a taco salad because he's trying to be good *rolls eyes*, I tried to order the birria tacos and was sadly told that they only offer it during the week, and up until noon on Fridays. It was currently 5pm. To say I was heartbroken is an understatement. I had my mouth ready thanks to those reviews, and here I am forced to actually read the menu and select something other than what I wanted. So special note, come back during the week, probably during the lunch rush. Regardless, I ordered street tacos, carne asada and two carnitas which the waiter highly recommended. I'll be honest, I ran through the 1.5 of the tacos and couldn't finish (to be fair, it was because I couldn't stop eating the ceviche lol), but they were good and were definitely street tacos exactly how they should be. Most restaurants claim to serve street tacos but add a bunch of random stuff that you'd think it was Taco Bell. Not in this case at all. Everything was *chef's kiss* but I'd be remiss if I didn't mention our waiter. I never got his name but he was a great example of excellent service without being overly pushy. He gave us frequent updates on the status of our dishes, and when we first sat, I asked if they had a bowl of fruit to hold my son over because a 1 yr old lacks patience. He said no unfortunately, but surprised us with a bowl of cut oranges that he was able to sneak for us. He was overall very caring, so we left him a very generous tip. Conclusion: While I didn't get my birria tacos, I will definitely be back soon to try it. This place reminded me of some of the restaurants I frequent in Mexico (I've been to over a dozen of non-tourist cities and states in the country so I'm decently familiar). While it has some Americanized traits, I'd say that the well prepared food, the service, strong drinks and the amazing prices completely make up for it. So yes, this gets my vote for best Mexican restaurant in Douglasville. read more

I came here for the first time last Sunday then proceeded to have it again Tuesday & Friday In my opinion a lot of the Mexican restaurants around this area modify their food to fit more of an Americanized pallet but I feel like Casa is very authentic. The steak tacos are perfect, the rice is bomb & I go crazyyyy for the black beans. Very good portions for the price. "F" in customer service. On September 8, 2024 this was my first time and last time coming to this restaurant. My friend ordered a Margarita, told our waiter Wan that it was watered down. She said she didn't want another one just take it off her bill. Wan brought the receipt and the drink was still on there. The acting manager ( young girl) came to the table and was was rude. She said she couldn't take the drink off and walked off. My friend did not drink the Margarita. We thought she was calling the real manager instead she called the police over a $6.50 margarita. No one was irate or yelling. Our waiter Wan said he will pay for the drink. My friend told him not to and she will pay for it. After wasting the Officer time the acting manager took the drink off her bill. This restaurant lost 3 customers- no referrals from me. Do better-learn how to talk to people and be reasonable. The one who claims to be French is AWFUL. She has lots of attitude and quick to call the POLICE for a simple $6.50 charge that should have been deducted from the bill because the drink was left on the table, a manager was requested and she never came until the end of our dinner. Very immature staff. Know that in Douglas County if u are displeased with a meal or drink and the restaurant refuse to credit or give an alternate solution you are required to PAY for it per the DOUGLASVILLE POLICE.
