Service was great! My cousin and his wife raved about this place so we went. I tried a combo plate with an enchilada, tamale, and a taco. All 3 were very bland just like the chips and salsa. We ordered 2 sides of guac and there wasn't enough salt on the table to make it flavorful. The taco shell looked like something pre-made from the grocery like the taco bell shells, total turn off. The rice and beans were bland...yes, there is a pattern here. I also ordered a chili relleno for good measure and they had left all the seeds in..ugh! Is it the best I have ever had ? No. But it's right up there. This food is high quality and has authentic flavors. While I agree that the queso leaves something to be desired, I have not had an entree that has had to be returned. I have eaten here for the past 9 years and always leave happy and stuffed. Portions are generous and in 9 years I have had only 1 complaint about the service. I read a yelp that said food comes in plastic containers. Completely false. Yes, if you're getting carry out it comes in styrofoam containers, but what carry out doesn't. If you dine in the food comes on platters and is hot and fresh. If you're in or close to Decatur Tx. Stopped in here for lunch on a work road trip. Decent food and great service! Our server was swell, kept us filled with drinks and was helpful regarding the menu/ordering. Was being piggish and ordered the Diablos for an appetizer too, would pass on those unless you got a bigger party and everyone just going to eat one. Love this restaurant We started eating here when the meals were being cooked and served in a small cottage, now it is in a very upscale setting just a few feet from where it started and it's Mexican roots and heritage are very evident. There is always a waiting line but it is never a long wait. Friends can join you and get a drink lot just visit without being penalized for sitting at the table without ordering. The only reason I can't give five stars is because of the parking lot and waiting area. To say the parking lot is small is an insult to small parking lots. I don't know how they could expand, but it's a terrible setup. However, when you get in an get a seat, the servers are always top notch and the food is fantastic. This is a great authentic mex restaurant. It's a little bit of a drive from Ft Worth, but if you want to get out of the same ole same ole...it's a great place. They have won numerous awards including "Best Hot Sauce" and I thought it was great. The beef fajitas were fantastic and the Tortilla Soup was a mean in itself. I could have just had chips, hot sauce and soup and been beyond full. They are closed on Sundays and when we went, there was about a 45 minute wait. They do call ahead seating so call before you leave your house. If you forget, when you get there, there is a tablet at the hostess station and you just put your own name on the list. at least you know your name gets spelled right! I usually get my order to go and I always get the Fajitas. I also usually ask for extra salsa and it's never a problem as I always tip extra as well. Today I asked and they wanted to charge me additional $ 1.70, I am not talking about asking for a mass amount but when they fill up the small container only half full then it seems like they are cutting corners. Also, if I dine in then I get unlimited supply with no questions asked. Anyway I went back and ask them if I could at least get the small container more then half full and the owner said no you have to pay 1.70 more if you want that. You can't do one thing one day and then do something else the next with out losing people, be up front about it and I recommend that they be more consistent or they are going to lose long time customers like me. read more

Quite honestly the best service I've had... maybe anywhere... I wish I knew the guys who where taking care of our table (50 guests for a surprise party) but it was almost unheard of how well attended our party was... The food here is bland. The salsa is not spicy nor flavorful. It does not have a kick whatsoever. You can get more flavor from a grocery store brand. My sister and I got chicken fajitas. You get a lot of chicken with a lot of what you think are spices on the chicken. The chicken was unfortunately bland. You get more spicy chicken from a store bought chicken in a bag. The crunchy tacos did have a good flavor though. The ground beef tasted good which is why the two stars and for quantity of food. I always see this place packed but after eating there I don't know why. If you like Tex-Mex food your grandma can eat and not take her stomach meds then this is your place. Never go to this restaurant!! New to the area and decided to try out this restaurant after passing by. Looks great from the outside and always looks busy from the parking lot. They have a host outside taking names because of COVID. There are several signs saying that masks are required yet no one is wearing one. Never welcomed when seated just "what do you want to drink". No music playing. It was very cold feeling and dry. Chips were terrible and tasted like cheap store bought. Strawberry froze. Margarita had no alcohol in it and barely even tasted like strawberry. Well having a party of seven went quick and easy as soon as we arrived. Greeted by great staff and seated and ordered drinks and appetizers. Been a few times while staying in the area with some friends. Food is always good, I try to try different things on the menu instead of getting the same bing all the time. I have always had good food here. The salsa and chips are good. The drinks are nothing special but they are not bad or mixed weak or anything. This is by far the best Mexican restaurant in area. My wife loves this place and I have to admit it has never disappointed me in any way. The owner is ALWAYS here and walking the floor.The food is always hot never stale, drinks are made correctly never watered down. I've been watching as the customers go to leave the owner and bus boys go to each table and wipe it down and disinfect down to wiping the chairs.
