Recently i complained to my husband there were no good Mexican restaurants around here. I mean come on, this is Texas! You'd think they'd be everywhere! Then we found Casa Torres! Ahhhh, my new "home away from home"! I have not yet been disappointed, always leave full and satisfied without our wallet being drained. The waitstaff is friendly and the guy who brings out the chips and salsa is especially fun. We try to get there as near to 11:00 am as we can, so we never have to wait. I'd recommend this place to anyone who enjoys great food at reasonable prices! PS: we just went there for a "day late birthday dinner" - they brought out a sopapilla and sombrero and sang happy b-day to me! Had the BEST time! read more

Great stop off hwy 287 and not too far out of the way. Very clean and very good flavors. The Fajita Chimichanga was wonderful as well as the soft beef and chicken tacos. We ordered a side of spicy green chili verde salsa that was excellent . I saw many people ordering fajitas so they must do a great job with fajitas. The place got busy very fast, would recommend stopping here for sure! read more

Such a disappointment. I was looking forward to authentic mexican, but everything was mediocre. Taco salads with beef that was nearly paste was almost inedible. Chicken enchiladas were nothing special. Salsa was fine. Service was good. Not a restaurant I would return to, a big disappointment. read more

Overall the food is pretty good and I used to go to the old location before they built the new building. The food was pretty decent and the margaritas were better then but alas the quality has gone downhill. The queso tastes like Velveeta warmed up. The margaritas have no kick, even when you order a top shelf version. Their frozen ones taste like a crappy mix and even the strawberry one was not sweet enough and even the top shelf ones are not very good and I had to send ours back. They don't taste like they should. Also this place is like a babysitting location like a McDonald's for families to bring all their kids who scream and yell, run around and misbehave bothering others. It would be better if they isolated one of the sections of their several rooms for families with children so they can all sit together so everyone else can have a peaceful nice meal without hearing the screaming of kids everywhere around you when you're trying to have a nice romantic dinner but this place has all of atmosphere of a Furrs cafeteria. Actually with covid-19 now they let you pay at your table instead of standing in a line at the cashier to pay which is the only good transition lately! read more

This was my first time going to this restraunt and after hearing so many good things about this place I was very disappointed. First, one of the people I was eating with found a very long hair in the salsa bowl. The waitress just brought out another bowl and said it was a "fresh batch" which to be honest was not very comforting. Then the shrimp taco salad which on the menu says grilled chopped shrimp in flour tortilla shell with choice of sour cream or guacamole. What I got was a huge shell filled with shredded lettuce with shrimp, tomatoes, cheese and a tiny cup of ranch dressing. Most taco salads I have encountered have beans or rice or something else to give it the taco feel. Service was decent but not great. If I ever go through Decatur again I will not be stopping here. read more

I have been a vegetarian for almost 30 years. I have never been to a restaurant that won't adapt their food to make it vegetarian friendly until coming here. Apparently, you can not change a single thing that is on the menu. Needless to say, we didn't stay and won't be back. On a good note, the salsa was good. read more

We usually ask to be served by Chen but tonight was very busy and we did not. Our waiter was lagging behind and Chen step in and helped serve our table even though we were not his responsibility! That's great service! When you eat here in the evenings ask for Chen's section he's the best! read more

I was afraid when they moved into the new building things would change - but it didn't- the food is still excellent. The service is always speedy and the atmosphere is casual. Cleanliness is above the top. We eat here at least once a month, even if its just an appetizer and a drink or take out! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. They will accommodate every request. The staff is knowledgeable and if they don't know, they will ask, like they have been trained! Except special orders, haven't tried their patience on that one yet, lol. The Shrimp Diablos are my favorite thing. No complaints about anything else me or my family have eaten except the portions vary. I love the charro beans, top notch and I'm a solid Mexican critic, I have eaten in Mexico, on the border, in the border, next to the border, ay! Salsa is like my second favorite in the world besides one place in East Texas, where I'm from and that is a HUGE compliment!!! The margaritas are hit and miss, get a frozen not a mixed. We just had dinner there tonight with my Mother in Law who lives in the Senior Care Nursing Home in Decatur. The service was absolutely FANTASTIC. The food was awesome. And I asked for a drink called a "Dirty Monkey" and the bartender knew how to fix it. It was soooooo good. I will definitely be going back over and over and over again.
