Honestly and I mean honestly, this place has the 2nd best tacos that I've ever had. Almost as good as the tacos I've had in Acapulco. This place is well worth trying, although they do deliver and it is in a not so great part of Stamford, the food is great and even better when you eat there, so eat there. I also suggest the Veal Tongue Tacos(for you brave eaters) as well as the Al Pastor, which is marinated pork with grilled pineapple, very, very good! The seafood is fresh as well. Even the reviews here that gave 2 stars have wonderful things to say! I have been here between 1 to 5 times a week for the past 1-5 years and I hope that never changes. I always know if I am ready for a vegan "fast" or to move toward or away from meats, by what I feel like having here. One thing that needs to be mentioned is that all things that make the experience great, the quality, the flavors, the health benefits, and the soothing-to-the-soul music, service, and even the pleasure of sitting at the window able to admire your 1982 Caprice Classic, just doesn't vary even a little bit, not even on a "bad" day. I have been a customer for years. I used to recommend this place to all of my colleagues and friends, NOT ANYMORE! Overtime, their portions have gotten smaller & the quality of the food has tremendously decreased all while their prices continue to go up. It makes no sense. After the ridiculously small portion of food yesterday for a plate that cost $18, I am officially done with them. Greed has gotten to them & you can tell all they care about is the almighty dollar. Our last night in Stamford and we were extremely tired from our NYC day trip. Again, The concierge at Zero Degrees recommended a restaurant. They told me to call Casa Villa and make an order for Delivery. I went on their site and we made our selections. I was here thinking, "Really? There's Mexicans in Stamford, CT?" It's true. When I called, I was greeted in spanish and yes, I even placed the entire order in spanish. 20 minutes later, The delivery guy was in the lobby. Gave him the cash + $6 tip for driving it to the hotel. My wife had 3 tacos de pollo con todo. I had a Burrito Supremo with Lengua (TOUNGE), Chips and Guacamole. Real yummy stuff. I have never had a restaurant go out of there way so much for a patron. We moved to westchester, 18 miles from Stamford. I'm pregnant and used to order from them all the time. My husband called and asked if they could deliver for an extra fee. They said it wasn't necessary, they would of course deliver. Funny, Mexican people all over the area say this is authentic Mexican yet uppity white people who have only had lunch in cruise ports seem to think they know better. Please, kindly get over yourselves. Ive spent time in Mexico. No, not Cancun or Cozumel or Riviera Maya. MEXICO. Backcountry farm towns and also zigzagged my way from Ensenada to La Paz and back. Let me tell you something about "authentic" Mexican food. Their meat is tough. They do not have good quality beef there. They cook it until its DONE. They dont have dozens of seasonings everywhere. Often its barely seasoned and rarely spicy. They use salt or squeeze a wedge of lime. If you want spicy you add chopped peppers. Its cooked with lots and lots of lard. They dont have fancy kitchens there either. So if youre looking for "authentic" and youre expecting your taste buds to explode in ecstasy think again. If you want mexican food thats actually creative and/or delicious to eat go to Crema or Dos Caminos in the city. If you want AUTHENTIC, come here, and thats exactly what you will get. An inconsistent, affordable, not always the best tasting but definitely good enough, best youre gonna get prepared under the circumstances meal. The food came 13 minutes after the delivery window. The chicken tinga was good but everything else in the torta was mediocre, and the bread it came on was bland and maybe a bit stale. The guacamole was fine but needed more spice. The chicharron and al pastor tacos and hot sauce were delicious, but they forgot one of my tacos. When I called to report the missing taco, the person who answered the phone didn't speak English well enough to understand my problem. Probably won't order from here again. read more

Pretty decent tacos. Sometimes the meat comes out a little dry/over cooked. Rice and beans are nothing special. Chips and salsa are great. Tostones are super as well. They can get very busy and orders back up. If they got their timing down, I would give them 5 stars. read more

If you are like me and cannot find much quality Mexican food in the Fairfield County area, then you need to try Casa Villa. Very authentic, very good, very generous portions. I love their tacos de bistec (steak tacos with onions, cilantro, and lime juice in corn tortillas) platter that comes with rice and beans. I get to Stamford once or twice a year and have made a point to return to this restaurant each time since I found it a couple of years ago. Service is truly excellent, prompt, courteous and attentive. Absolutely no disappointments in the food department, even the rice which looks suburban is really good! I have only had two things here every time I go. I get the three tacos with rice and beans a sometimes the corn on the cob special. The tacos ar fanominal and you need to try them all. Carntas and tacos al pastor are the two best. Al pastor has pineapple in the taco and a really interesting spice to it. I was a big fan of my carnitas tacos. They were made California style.. Just the way I love them! The chips and salsa fresca were fresh and tasty and I enjoyed my horchata.. Couple stars docked off because boyfriend got the chicken tacos and a chicken quesadilla and the chicken was gray. Seriously gray. We tasted a few pieces and it tasted kind of weird and gamey. I don't understand why we chose to continue eating it but we did and we both paid the price. Serious food poisoning. My stomach still hurt after 2 days. We were looking for a quick bite to eat during a conference. We found this was the closest restaurant to the Hilton, so we stopped in. We are glad we did. The soft tacos had a pleasant spicy flavor and the guacamole is awesome. Just ate dinner here while traveling on business. The restaurant is a hole in the wall located in an area where you wouldn't want to wander around late at night. But it's located on a busy street, so I felt safe at 6 PM. There is no off street parking. The restaurant shares an outside door with a laundromat. The inside of the restaurant is small, but pleasant. There is no alcohol served, so don't expect to get a frozen margarita (alas). You order at the counter, they cook your meal to order, and then they deliver it to your table. I had the shrimp enchiladas. They were delicious. Overall, pretty good. The only two things that I've tried and didn't like: taco al pastor and caldo de pollo. The chicken soup wasn't authentic and was pretty greasy. The taco al pastor; something was just off. Meat and chicken have pretty good flavor, close to authentic. read more

Wow. Authentic Mexican food! Nice little cozy spot for a great friday evening. Let's start with the appetizers, the guacamole was made to perfection. Main course: We had the chicken fajitas, large portions, and very delicious! Had tres tacos, a mix of three meats served with rice and beans, and again it was very good.
