Casablanca Inn is tucked a few minutes away from the beach, and is at a prime location. They offer regular rooms and their deluxe rooms. I got a deluxe room and it was perfect for the party I was traveling with. Checking in was easy, even as they were doing training for a new employee. They have a pool and an outside patio with a cute fountain, breakfast included as well as a gym. The room was clean, I loved the kitchenette space and how spacious the sink area/bathtub were. The only issue I had was that our room was missing the remote for the tv. I called the front desk, and the staff offered to come look for it, but I've checked everywhere three times and couldn't find it. She mentioned if it had been missing, that the cleaning staff would have reported it. I felt, she didn't trust me and didn't want to offer any solutions unless I let them come check out the room. The situation was never resolved, I wonder if til this day if they ever found the remote. Nonetheless, it's a clean, roomy hotel, that's walking distance to the beach with a couple amenities.

The online photos are completely misleading! Buyer beware! You think you are signing up for a lovely renovated room only to arrive and find out those are only a fraction of the available rooms. These are what you will likely get depending upon occupancy and the current mood of the front desk person. Hotels.com photos are what you are duped into believing you are paying for. Proceed with extreme caution. The non renovated rooms are gross, type of place you want to wear shoes inside.... Good location why is why two stars.

Our first night there while I was out walking my dog Piper...

First of all, what impressed me the most was how accommodating the front desk personnel were. We were being forced to stay in a hotel because our home was being fumigated. They let us check in early and allowed us to check out late to accommodate our schedule. We needed two separate rooms because our son needed a room as well. We also had our dog stay with us. Both rooms had a very private balcony, perfect to allow our dog to have fresh air. The rooms were a decent size, including a microwave, refrigerator, where everything worked well, free WIFI, all the cable channels available by COX, most importantly HVAC, so we were comfortable for our entire stay. And the more than ample parking that was FREE. And each morning they served free breakfast until 10 AM with a good assortment of fruits, muffins, danishes, coffee, tea, made fresh waffles with a nice variety of toppings. It would have been nice to take advantage of outdoor pool and the gym, but sadly this was not a vacation for us. but for those who do stay here on vacation, you can't beat the location and the price.

Our stay at the Casablanca was just what we needed and it made us fall in love with this place. Rooms were beautiful and spacious- loved the spa tub too. We are looking forward to our next trip :)

Breathtaking view from right outside our door! Sunset was beautiful.

Hands down, such a relaxing stay. I love the theme. The white building with turquoise doors and terracotta roof tiles, so beautiful. Extremely convenient for families with little ones and they are also dog friendly, which was most important to us. Not to mention how convenient the parking situation is. They have a pool and jacuzzi. Breakfast was perfect and the lady was so nice and welcoming. They had homemade waffles and a selection of fruits and canned juices. We had to get the older rooms due to us having a our doggy with us, but the man that checked us in (I forgot his name! I wish I would've gotten it) got us the best room that had an ample balcony for our dog since he loves laying in the sun. I can't complain about the room, it's comfortable, pretty spacious and even has a pullout sofa bed. The fridge was also a pretty good size for us to store our food. Another winner for us was that this area has so many cute shops and restaurants around, the cutest secondhand store, trendy bars down the street and a 7-Eleven as well for our convenience. Not to mention, it's like a 5 minute walk to the beach. I've stayed at many dog friendly hotels in California, and this one takes it home as the best. They have many pet relief areas scattered and you can walk down the street to a little grass hill area with tables to eat as well. I don't usually like coming back to hotels since I like staying different hotels in different areas to explore but I would come back to this hotel next weekend if I could. Especially since it wasn't too high in price. Thank you CasaBlanca Inn.

Stayed here a couple nights for a work trip and had a great experience. The courtyard area and surrounding streets are all really quiet, the room was clean and comfortable and the couple employees I interacted with were very friendly. The only reason I give 4 stars is the construction that is going on. Because of it, their breakfast room is unavailable and therefore they are not offering their typical breakfast. This was disappointing as there was no notice of this when I booked the room. They did at least offer a "sack lunch" breakfast with some fruit, cereal, granola bar and some juice.

We were in town for a wedding and were looking for the cheapest, pet-friendly place in the vicinity. My review is based on minimal use of the hotel. We were literally only here to sleep. Regardless, I would highly recommend it and stay here again if I'm ever in the area again. The price was right for the location. The beach is walking distance and the Super Bowl Express right across the street had really good food with generous portions. The room was clean, no noise to complain about.. they offered a small complimentary breakfast selection and have a pool. You really shouldn't need more then that unless you plan on spending A LOT of time hanging out on property.

My wife and I absolutely loved this place! We flew out to celebrate her sister's wedding, and found Casablanca Inn on Bookings.com. Firstly, upon arrival we were 30-45min early for check-in, but the gal at the front desk was kind enough to let us check in early; no gripes, just a genuine smile and a warm hello and welcome! Loved the very spacious room, which was very neat, and clean!. Let me mention the two best things about this place, that the wifey and I agreed upon: we truly had the best two nights of sleep we've ever had in any hotel/motel we've ever visited while traveling, and I mean THEE BEST sleep ever! The mattress was very comfortable, and the sheets and blankets were equally comfortable! Secondly, their morning breakfast was killer!! Wish I could remember the lady's name, but she served up breakfast to everyone with a smile, and was very accommodating to each person that walked in, child or adult! The waffles so so dang good, as was their SEC breakfast sandwich, with fresh fruits, juices and other snacks aplenty! Needles to say we give 5-BIG stars to Casablanca Inn, and when we visit San Clemente, we'll be sure to stay here again and again! Cheers!

Crustables wrapper stuck in the nightstand! How can you say this room was cleaned and this is here?!??

Very nice little motel. Right in the center of town, friendly staff. The parking garage as well, but did to get to and from your room.

Established in 1953, the Beachcomber in is quintessential California bungalow motor hotel. It's unique placement on a San Clemente bluff, with panoramic views of the pier and coast are nothing short of stunning. The rooms have full kitchens, king beds, sofa beds and patios with Adirondack chairs, in case being inside, staring through an enormous picture window just doesn't cut it. The staff obviously knows what a special property this is and there is great pride in the presentation and up keep of the grounds. Friendly, welcoming faces morning, noon and night. Because this is a vintage property, maintaining its original build and charm, it does not conform to modern accessibility requirements. Some may find the rooms small compared to modern, chain hotels, but I found everything cozy, comfortable and - dare I say - sumptuous! Given the hospitality of the staff, I'm sure they would do all they could to accommodate any guest. In addition to the amazing evening sunset views of the Pacific, a plus for me, was the Amtrak Surfliner passing through, down below the bluff. Paul Simon may sing, 'Everybody loves the sound of a train in the distance', but I love the sound of a train close by! I find it very soothing and romantic. After the sun has set, it's time to gather around the large fire pit for easy conversations with fellow guests, maybe while you wait for your steaks to grill on one of their guest use BBQs. A lovely, relaxing way to ease into the night. We forced ourselves to leave the property and stretch our legs, walk the pier and roam the shops of nearby Avenida Victoria. But for REAL shopping in San Clemente, we took advantage of the free hop on/hop off trolley that runs seasonally and weekends(see separate review) that picks up just below the Beachcomber, at the San Clemente train stop. Weleft our car parked in our allotted parking space (1 parking space for those staying in Villas #1-12). Really, Beachcomber had everything we needed to settle in for a few nights and, yes, just "BREATHE". Cheers! "CC"

Room has a sofa bed. Staff is very nice. We had the pleasure of meeting Ricky. He is amazing. Very nice, helpful and informative. NIGHT ONE: First night was a drag for sleep. We asked for the top floor upon arrival but were told they were all full at the top floor. I don't know why any hotel would put kids on a top floor. We had littles running at 11pm-12am and then from 4-6:30am running again and an adult stomping back and forth. After 2 hours I couldn't handle it anymore and called downstairs to have them call the room to have them stop. We were in room 236. They stopped for a bit and started back up at 6:45am. That was unfortunate. NIGHT TWO... used earplugs so I didn't have to hear the upstairs people stomping and kids running at 5am this time. The walls and floor are very thin. You can hear talking upstairs and next door. The hallways have a cold draft when it's cold. Our room started to smell like a wet damp towel on day two after we came back from being out all day. I assume it was due to the non stop rain and possibly leaks within the walls. The Dove soap does make a difference and makes all of the rooms smell good. We had to open the balcony door to air out the room. It makes sense why we see all of the rooms open when they are being cleaned out. They are being aired out before being occupied. NIGHT THREE: used earplugs so we didn't hear the new occupiers upstairs. But they were pretty quiet from 11pm to 7am. NIGHT FOUR: Ear plugs for the win lol. Still, overall, a great place to stay. I know renovations are expensive so fixing these thin walls most likely won't happen anytime soon. I would def stay here again but will remember to wear my earplugs every night Lots of parking. Feels super safe. The place is otherwise quiet. Sad part is that I looked forward to a heated pool and the pool was not heated. It looked nice though. I'm still made about the pool.... Couldn't even use it once. The water was freezing. Hotel itself is extremely clean. Our sheets were so clean. They smelled sooooo good. Staff was very presentable. Breakfast was good. Free breakfast every morning. 6:20-9:30 Mon through Friday and 7-10am on weekends. Cereals, bagels, toast, jelly's, jams. Peanut butter, yogurt, butter, omelets with cheese or ham, Boiled eggs, turnkey sausage, pork sausage, orange juice, coffee, milk, tea, cinnamon rolls, oatmeal, apples, oatmeal, bacon on some days, oranges, bananas and pancakes. They supply Dove soap (Dove hand soap, shampoo and conditioner) which is amazing. We brought our own Dove soap just in case because most hotels use smelly soap lol. Inside the room is a microwave, fridge, ironing board, tv, clean remote in plastic, hair blow dryer and a coffee maker. TIPs: -Bring ear plugs -Air out your room daily (open that patio) -Turning the heater higher than 81 makes the room smell burnt -keep the room temp at 75 as the cold comes in from outside or keep your neck warm -if you're here for the pool, call before making reservations to see if it's heated

I came here for a wedding block and did not check the reviews until after my stay and was shocked at all the negative reviews. A lot of the prior reviews all mention outdated rooms, but now in 2026 the rooms have been redone and they're great. The hallways/exterior/common areas are still quite dated, but the rooms themselves have been redone well. They're spacious and large and well apportioned. With that said, there are some negatives. First of all, they're still working on renovations in the common areas. A large portion of the lobby is petitioned off, and the pool and spa are both closed. Secondly, the room we were in the beds seemed on the small side, so if you were trying to put two larger people on one of the beds it may feel a little cramped. Lastly, there still seems to be some issues with management. I was lucky and all the staff I dealt with were great, but one of my friends had her room canceled last minute.
