Stayed at the cove the end of my grandparents timeshare week. They had decided to leave I guess because one of the lady's at check in wasn't the nicest. The time I was there was good housekeeping was attentive when I came to the needs of the room. The balcony rooms will always have the best views if that's your goal. Very close to the downtown so lots of food options nearby along w the Sunday market. Room was very cold at points even w the heaters and the fireplace on but my guess it's because of the tile. I went in the winter but they do offer beach equipment if needed and towels which is always great. Plus the sauna and jacuzzi are always great to enjoy. read more

This is a timeshare I was gifted, I have the luxury of living close enough to drive down anytime, whatever date my week comes up I take it and just enjoy the beach and the privacy. They also have rentals available not everyone uses their timeshare not all the rooms and all the weeks are used up. Additionally, they have timeshares for sale. If you're interested I would say the prices for your yearly fees are comparable to any other hotel in their resort area or a beach area so well worth it to pay the timeshare fees and just come down whenever. read more

We have stayed here twice now and absolutely loved our experience both times. This most recent visit, we were staying for a mini-moon right after our wedding. Everything about this place is wonderful. It was just as affordable as the Hampton Inn we stayed at right before, but ten times nicer. They even called us to let us know that their rates dropped from when we initially booked, so we saved money without having to do any of the leg work. You simply cannot be the location of this resort. You can walk to the downtown or the beach. It's also a very quiet resort - you immediately feel relaxed here. We have also always been super pleased with the welcoming staff. This is a repeat booking for us whenever we come to San Clemente. read more

positive- location- one block from the pier 1 bedroom suite spacious, modern with some outdated furniture huge balcony with nice oceon view good hot water pressure in shower/bathtub negative- no designated parking spots for checking in underground parking structure can be tight if you have a suv one elevator approx 4x4. a family of 4 can barely fit with luggage the "i understand" policy you're given at check-in. verbage is for teenagers the "early check out" notice that was posted to the guests doors the evening before the text after receiving the notice on the door. a reminder to put all trash in bags, put towels in tub, etc. i have posted their notices for proof. based on the last 3 negatives we would not stay here again. asking a guests to leave early is absurd and unprofessional. most guests i'm sure would like to stay until 11am sharp as their "i understand" states 11am sharp check out. we have been in every type of hotel, resport and never had any notices, policies like this before. we still gave 4 stars for the overall stay but knocked off only one for the notice, policy verbage and reminder text read more

Big resorts are fine, but I was looking for a nice location close to the beach, specifically close to the pier. I found this affordable suite, complete with a kitchen with a balcony facing the ocean. There was secure underground parking but everything I needed for the weekend was within walking distance. The bedroom was a separate room. Good water flow in the shower. Plenty of towels including towels that can be used at the hot tub. The kitchen had a nice set up. There was a coffee maker and some coffee which was great as I need me some "wake up" coffee before I made it around the corner to Bear Coast Coffee. This is a quiet neighborhood. Way less touristy then most of the beach resort locations. I did notice, even though the MetroLink train passes between the Cove and the beach, that it passes quietly, especially at night. They don't lay on the horn. We ate at the Fisherman which is located at the pier. Great food all around. Anyway, back to our stay. The room was clean. The staff was great and I will be returning when it warms up a bit. read more

Could be improved: 1) The mattress was too small for two average-size adults and too soft. 2)I don't recall we ever have to pay $20+/day to a resort as timeshare owners who exchange through RCI. We stayed here in April 2022. Great stay. My kids participated in the shell painting, soap making, and bead project. I was happy that they offered these programs. Kim ran all of these activities and she was fantastic. She was very friendly and made sure everyone had a great time. Our room had a partial ocean view which was nice. The resort is very close to everything, I was able to walk everywhere I needed to go. The beach, pier, several restaurants, and a market was right there. The train was also close by in case you wanted to travel somewhere else without driving. The San Clemente pedestrian beach trail is also right there which is a beautiful walk along the beach. The resort doesn't have AC, but that wasn't a problem for us when we were there since it wasn't that hot. They were also finishing some construction, but there was very little noise from that (we were also warned of the construction before arrival). The master has a queen sized bed and the sofa is a pullout (in the one bedroom suite). There is also a hot tub on the top floor of the hotel, we watched a few sunsets from there. Our place at the San Clemente Cove is so beautiful and cozy. Our bed is so comfortable, and the balcony is breathtaking. The kitchen is nice where we can cook our favorite meals. We are close to the pier, which we like to take our daily walks. The view of the ocean is pictureresk, and watching the sufers catch a wave is fun. Also, we are close to the supermarket, which is within walking distance. I would highly recommend the San Clemente Cove. The staff (kim) is very professional and friendly. She is so helpful with all our needs to make our stay a great one. The community is also so friendly, which makes our stay epic! read more

This hotel is right across the street from the beach!!! Great location! Apartment sized rooms so it is a bit more pricey. I loved how easy it was to get to the beach.... but the staff wasn't so pleasant. I had an issue with one of the older ladies, we needed more shampoo and conditioner and they have a limit of two extra. I tried explaining how we forgot ours and we had four girls with hair down to our butts but that's when she got nasty and bitter. I understand and respect rules, but once you give me attitude i will be uncomfortable and unhappy. We bought our own shampoo and avoided her. They even have activities like painting and margarita hour, but don't expect happy gals reaching paint class or serving margaritas. This hotel is a freaking apartment! A bit pricey but super worth it! The location couldn't be better! San Clemente is my favorite place in Cali so far! Beautiful room, so so spacious. Easy check in and out. Has its own parking which is super handy because parking at the pier can be difficult to find, even with the pay station lot. I love when there's stuff you can use like dish soap and dishes and glasses. It's like home away from home. Not sure why the reviews aren't better. Check in took awhile and overall I was disappointed with the resort. All their photos show ocean view balconies but ours was a sliver! Spectacular, amazing clean, 20 steps to shore, pier, restaurants and coffee shop! Friendly staff, fully equipped condominium. What more can you ask for? Fully satisfied with my stay, and we went during Labor Day and heat wave and had no AC in our unit, and even then it was stayed fresh with all the fans that the condo had, and it was 100 degrees that weekend. I have to add that we took our 2 year old toddler and our 8 month old and this place and all the local restaurants were all so kid friendly. read more

Wonderful staff. Great location across from pier. However don"t stay in units 101 or 102 especially in the summer . These units are over the laundry. Even the floor is hot. Excellent resort in a prime spot of San Clemente since it's across the street from the pier and plenty of restaurants all around. Sure, not every room has a great view. But you are also not chained to your room and can walk outside to experience the beach. Most rooms are large with a full kitchen, separate bedroom and balcony. While rooms don't have AC, most of the year the weather here is mild. And there are plenty of fans in the room. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Biggest downside is that parking is a bit tight but is covered. read more

Every year when I was little we'd come to San Clemente to spend a week at our timeshare. From now and from what I can remember, this place was boring. However, it is a nice place to come down and spend a couple of days NOT A WEEK and it's a walking distance to the pier/beach. The condo is pretty much equipped with everything you need, there's a balcony with a view (if you're lucky). This place deserves two stars, for one thing between certain hours you must respect all guest by keeping the noise level to a minimum BUT once it's 8 in the MORNING, you hear E V E R Y T H I N G; from people stomping like elephants above you to rearranging furniture. OH! & the balconies are pretty closed to one another so if you think it'd be nice to relax outside & read a book be prepared to sense the awkwardness of seeing the occupants of the rooms next to you that you hear through the paper thin walls. read more

It was the closest place to Disneyland, we were a bit bothered at how far away it was from Disney, but after arriving and spending a few days, I wouldn't have changed our plans even if we could. The staff are amazing. Mid week they called us, asking if we wanted to move to an ocean view room. They didn't have to, but they called. Amazing! They were so sweet all the way through the check in process and throughout the week. We even had a package delivered to the front desk. When we ordered the item we didn't know which room we'd be in, so we just had it addressed to myself and delivered to the front desk. I love the convenience to the beach, it's right across the street. There are several restaurants around the corner, Mexican, pizza, and seafood. Surfing is great too. One frustrating thing that we found was the parking. There aren't many spots, and they're tiny.. but we found that they have a lower level parking area too that most people don't know about. Make sure you park there! All in all you'll be thrilled with the place. And for the price you can't beat it! read more

Just stayed 3 nights to celebrate my birthday. Love this place! So close to the beach & each balcony looks over at least a slice of the ocean. The bedroom is on the interior with the main living space out towards the balcony and the outdoors. That means that you sleep well at night, no bother from noise or light shining in. Fireplace, several TVs, comfortable seating, table & chairs on the balcony. It was well-stocked to cook in if I had wanted to, but I enjoyed the local restaurants instead. Everything was easily walkable. The front desk ladies were all pleasant and helpful, wanting to make sure my stay was a good one. Parking is in an underground garage, easy in & out with a remote. The only real problem I had was not knowing how to park to check in - no obvious spot available, so had to park & pay across the street. When I got inside I was told I should have parked on the red curb right outside the front door. Uh. That didn't make sense in a beach town that probably thrives on parking fines. I'd suggest that info should be provided in the check-in email that is sent out. read more

We used this resort to stay here a few years ago, and every year I try to come back, but they are always booked. I'm really bummed. Although not all their rooms are oceanfront view, but whatever view you get, is all so breathtaking. It's very close to the pier, the beach, restaurants, desserts, ice cream, the fishersman's restaurant, the liquor store and other things. We are here on the 3rd floor with a great view of the Pacific Ocean. Kim, at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. This San Clemente Cove resort is clean, upgraded with newer features. Our room has a Kitchen, stove, fridge, microwave and sink. This place is cool. The wife and I are enjoying our anniversary getaway. We will be back. read more

This review is a little overdue. My wife, a few friends and I stayed here for a few days about a year ago. The room wasn't horrible and we always put up the do not disturb sign so the maid wouldn't come in throughout our stay. The weather at night was a little chilly so I packed some flannel shirts and hung them in the closet when I arrived. When we checked out I didn't do a thorough search and left my flannels in the closet. We live in Vegas and I had no need for the flannels for a few months. When I went to use one I realized I left them at the resort. I figured it had only been a few months I bet they were turned in. When I called they said nothing like that was turned in. These flannels ranged anywhere from 60-100 each, made by Dixxon, if you're familiar. I don't trust any place that has your phone number on file and doesn't call to notify you that you left something or a place that has maids that don't notify the front staff and bring left over belongings home. If you do stay here don't let the maids in, check your room before checking out and don't trust the staff. My belongings are irreplaceable and gone forever. read more

We definitely took advantage of all the comforts and convenience of our one bedroom condo. It is conveniently located to all the beautiful places we went to explore. This place is great. It's right in front of the ocean/pier, walking distance really. The room is equipped with everything- bed, bathroom, kitchen, living room, etc. Balcony if you're lucky or ask for a room with one. Guest service is great. There is always someone there after hours (like past midnight, coming back from a bar, etc) It's basically a steal - affordable pricing, great view. Only bad thing about this place- THIN WALLS!! First off I booked thru 3rd party Travelocity, and did not get a beach view and got a room with the trash bin( you open it the the trash goes down to trash dump) located right on room ekkk, so I suggest if you want a beach view or a room that's not connected to a trash bin call and book Thru resort.. The rooms are outdated but ok the bathrooms are scary very outdated. On the plus side the Lady at the front desk if super Nice and the resort is right next to the beach!!! There is a Pizza place and an ice-cream ,, some one please tell the ice cream guy he is overpriced got 5 cones for 30 bucks!! There is a Restaurant on the pier its very good.. read more

Overall unit and resort were pleasant. Parking was kind of a challenge because we had 2 cars and you only get 1 spot in the parking garage with the unit. The beach parking lot is free from 5pm - 10am so that is convenient but it is challenging to find a spot to park until 10pm or after. Therefore we had park way up the hill in front of someone's house and go back later to move it. Super convenient to be right across from the beach so we could go for a few hours, come home and have lunch and go back. The less stuff to lug to the beach the better in my opinion. My only real disappointment is that other guests don't respect the no smoking policy. Their chain smoking and pot smoking were super annoying. The ocean breeze blew their smoke directly into my unit. I have small kids so that was not the kind of environment I was looking for. I had to keep shutting my windows and lose out on the ocean breeze just to avoid second hand smoke. read more

The accommodations are nice, the location is great, and some of the views are spectacular. But if you are thinking of buying a time share week, be aware that this is a terribly managed organization. "Owner Services" are primarily interested in selling memberships in RCI and up-selling weeks at other holdings. The way you find out that a maintenance fee is due is that you get a notice of non-payment and threats of penalties and loss of access. read more
