We had a sudden invasion of sugar ants in our kitchen and laundry room, one day before we were going to be leaving town. I called a pest control company I found on Yelp but my call went to voice mail, so I kept looking on Yelp and found Cascade Pest Control. My call was answered promptly and professionally by a woman who was able to adjust a workers schedule to come to our house about two hours later. Josh came, made a thorough inspection, applied some kind of treatment around the entire house, and a different treatment inside the kitchen a laundry room. The next morning the ants were swarming on the material Josh applied, as he told us they would, apparently taking it back to share in their nest. We have not seen any ants since! Last night (8/30/18) I was made aware of a bee nest in a tree which was close to where kids walk to school. I went to just look at it and didn't get closer than 10' away when I got attacked... not user friendly bees. Tried to put up a sign to keep people away - that didn't work either, until about 9:30 at night...and I was still expecting a surprise attack. Decided to go with a professional remover and found out these were really nasty, aggressive Bald Face Hornets. Josh from Cascade got out here about 10am and found he needed his bee protection outfit since he was being attacked too. He removed the nest and totally sprayed it and the area it had been in the tree. Fantastic Job!!! At least I won't be as paranoid about kids and others walking by our tree. If you've ever had a flea problem (which I hope you haven't) then you understand how infuriating and difficult they are to deal with. We had a large national company out when we realized we had an infestation inside our home from our dog who picked up some from our yard. This large company sprayed what I could have gone to Walmart and bought myself. I wasn't impressed. I cancelled their service immediately and was referred to Cascade. I'm so glad I called. Chris spent so much time on the phone with me detailing options and allowing me to describe the situation in length. He advised on a couple things they would do differently and never spoke ill of his competitor. We had our home treated by Cascade and for a few days, per the flea life cycle we continued to vacuum and see fleas. After 5 days we moved back into our home and we haven't seen a flea since. So happy with the level of attentiveness and service we've received. Our second treatment is on Friday and we are just THANKFUL for finally being out of flea hell. Terrible thing for a family to have to deal with, lucky for us, we found Cascade. Thanks to both Chris's and Ana who were all fantastic to work with. read more

I have used Cascade for over 1 year. The pest side of coming out seems fine. Nice employees, they do a good job, contact me before coming out etc. The technical side is a dogs breakfast. They switched me to electronic billing and that did not work and neither does the snail mail. They called me and left automated messages with audible "hashtags" where the information should be. They repeatedly leave messages with inaccurate information concerning my billing, and recently after I, called, and sent them an email, and sent them my final bill, they unbelievably left me a voicemail about my bill. This is a company that needs to get there electronic customer service house in order. Managing their payment will give you more of a headache then your pests! read more

First of all, $400 to initiate service is absurd. Secondly, I urge you to read the contract Cascade presents you and either disregard or record everything their employees say, both on the phone & before/after the initial treatment. I hope my experience with Cascade isn't the norm because telling lies to get customers to sign a contract is deceptive. From the price of the initial service, to what's included on the quarterly plan, the Cascade employee was misleading at best and fraudulent at worst with their selling points on Cascade's maintenance plans. Once you've signed the contract & paid Cascade the outrageous $400 for their service, god forbid you need to call them to come back because you'll be put on hold and have to jump through hoops to get them to do anything the service guy promised during the initial treatment. Forget recommending them as a service, I denounce them as a business. To clarify, I would have given a two star rating but the service didn't even work. read more

Our rental agent hired this company to take care of an ant issue in our residential rental house in Seattle. They charged $359 compared to other company we used at our house which was $159 for initial visit. They spraed twice and we had no reduction in ants. They wanted $120 bi monthly to continue compared to other agencies that charge $99 quarterly. No results and high cost. We will not be using them for any further services. read more

Had Cascade come and spray a large nest of bumblebees in my attic. When they completed their treatment the bees managed to relocate themselves in my garage where I was told that I would need to pay for a second treatment. Ended up tearing the insulation out of the wall to remove the nest myself. read more

This is an update on my post of several months ago. We had a rat problem, which I identified, but was not addressed by their technician, because "he knew better". In the process of fixing the none existing problems, they damaged the roof. Now the good part. They agreed to pay for the repair and were very understanding and helpful in the process. This is a truly awful company. Due to the unusually warm spring and summer weather we had I decided to sign up for service in early summer. We also have backyard chickens which didn't help with the rat problem so I purchased a rat proof chicken feeder and hoped Cascade Pest control would help eliminate some of the population. On the first visit the service person set 11 traps, not poison but traps, due to the pets in our backyard. The bait they use is some really cheap peanut butter which sadly does not work. Of the 11 traps set initially, only a few were successful. This surprised me because I have counted as many as 10 rats at once near the areas where the traps were set. The service person told us he would return the week after resetting the traps to check them, this never happened. Eventually after several weeks of never hearing from the company I called and a service person came out to reset the traps at some point. However the second time none of them worked at all. The third month was the same with only 1 trap working. During this time, which was the second and third month of service , the Cascade billing person (Marla) began calling me to indicate I was "past due" on payments. I paid $217 initially to start the service and had this debited from my debit card. When I started the service i was told this would be an automatic charge from my card each month but that never happened. Instead they chose to harass me by phone and even threatened to send my balance to a collection agency. Maybe you should not tell your customers the charge will be automatic if it really isn't Cascade. On top of that I paid $217 the first month and then was charged $136 for month 2, and $136 for month 3, or $489 in total. For that price they got about 4-5 rats. That means it cost me nearly $100 per rat that was trapped. This is crazy! I will never recommend that someone sign up for pest control for rats, especially with these apathetic unprofessionals. For the money I spent i could have handled the problem better on my own. The billing people and staff that I interacted with were terrible. And as I write this I still have 11 traps sitting on the side of my house because these guys can't even be bothered to pick them up. Stay away from this company, they are dishonest, unethical, and ultimately are only concerned with taking your money. They could care less about whether their service is effective or not and I can only hope this company eventually goes out of business. read more

We purchased a home that had not been lived in for 3 years. It had a rodent problem. I am so very happy I called Cascade Pest Control! They were able to get to our home quickly and the service fee was affordable. I was not expecting a female to show up for the inspection and exclusion work (I'm tough, but this type of work is tougher than me). I was surprised to see Michelle Lane pull into the driveway! While Michelle was talking to me, I could see her eyeing every architectural detail of our home. She discovered multiple entry points that never would have occurred to me. Michelle has not only blocked all entry points in our home, garage and shop, but she found several mice in traps she set. I signed up for Cascade Pest Control's regular maintenance program because even though our home is shored up now, rodents are creative and persistent! I recently saw three wasps flying inside our bedroom. I was relieved to already have a relationship with Michelle and be able to send a text message (late at night on a Saturday - I apologize and thank you Michelle) and receive a prompt response early Sunday morning. I didn't know that Michelle had treated the outside of our home for insects. Michelle explained that the wasps were remnants and I would not likely see more. She was correct. I never saw another wasp after that. Michelle is conscientious and hardworking. I am grateful for her service. I've used Cascade over the years for various issues: billions of teeny weeny ants at my front door, a wasp nest in my plum tree and most recently, rats in the crawl space! Each time, they arrived when scheduled, were very pleasant, and got straight to work. I'm happy to pay more when dealing with these little buggers, since I want them gone sooner rather than later! After all, my home is my biggest investment and keeping it critter-free is important. Certainly healthier! Of course, I have no idea about the procedures they use. I called Cascade and spoke with Sierra regarding a suspected wasp nest, where they had got into my attic by going through a small hole near a porch light. Wasps were entering as late as September 2017, but while they went IN, I never saw them come out. Until this past week, when I had TWO buzz around my home and I successfully annihilated them. After speaking with Sierra, she had one question for me, "was it a BIG wasp." "Yes, yes it was." That was the Queen. She thought the rest would have died by now and only the Queen(s) survived and were trying to get out of the space. So she gave me free advice and solved the problem! I had contacted other pest companies and they wanted to charge me a fee just to come out and take a look. Very courteous and helpful. I called with a suspicion of an insect infestation, and they talked it through on the phone for free, then suggested I send in one of the dead bugs, which they looked at under a microscope. They concluded it was nothing to worry about. All of this cost me nothing. Other places would have insisted on coming out -- and charging for it. If we ever DO have a pest problem, I will call them first! And I recommend you do, too. read more

I was a quarterly contract customer of Cascade Pest Control for over 10 years. I want to warn everyone about this company and their business model which is not to protect your family from pests. I wish I realized 10 years ago what I know now. Their goal is not to completely fix your pest problem, but to get you on an ongoing service plan. The same one I was on for 10 years. About 4 months ago, our family went out of town for a few days. We came home to a dozen mice inside our house. Mice poop in my 12 month old daughter's room. I immediately called them to come out. I was at work so my wife let them in. They only put down 3 glue traps inside the house and left us to fend for ourselves. By the next day 3 mice were caught and there were many mice left running around our house threatening our family's health. They didn't even try and figure out how the mice were getting in and they certainly didn't leave enough mice traps to catch them. I called to cancel service and take this mice battle on by myself. I walked around my house and saw many entry points that they clearly had not even bothered to fix. I then realized all they had been doing is coming out and putting rodent bait in 3 bait stations every 3 months and charging me $150. I bought some rodent copper mesh off Amazon to fill in the entry holes myself. If you hire a pest company for mice, make sure they actually fix the entry points. Then do the rest by yourself. You need bait stations outside every 12 feet. I called to complain and the manager Alex and he did nothing about it. 3 months later they showed up at my house to do service. I told Tom the pest man that I canceled service many months ago and that they took 2 of my bait stations and that I wanted them returned. He called his boss named Kevin and he declined to return my property. So basically, not only did they screw me out of money for 10 years, risk my family's health, but to add insult upon injury they stole from me. Do not do business with this company. read more

I have been a customer of Cascade for about 3 years now and have never been disappointed with their service. They have pretty much controlled the rat problem in my crawl space and installed a new vapor barrier and insulation after doing extensive exclusion work to close of all the rat entry points. We have a problem with a bird in the overhang area on the house. I also had a couple ants. I was WAY more concerned with the bird then then ants as I can spray and bait for ants. This was explained to them on the phone. When they came out they sprayed for ants and didn't even look at the bird issue. At the second appointment for the ants the tech says the don't deal with birds or bird damage. I feel like the whole appointments were bait and switch to get me to sign up for a monthly plan that doesn't actually cover my issue. I feel misled and like I spent money on a service that wasn't going to solve the issue I really cared about. read more

After spending close to $800 to exclude and trap rats from my attic, the tech informed me that there were no rats in the traps and thus there were no rats in the attic. End of problem and treatments. The rats continued to crubble around in our attic all winter. Finally I found the place where they were getting in, screened them out, set traps and caught them, and placed bait boxes outside, which resulted in more dying outside. It was dirty work I wanted Cascade to do, and in the end I did it myself and they walked away with my money. read more

Cascade Pest Control has been coming to my house in Skagit County for a while now. They got rid of the carpenter ants, and I haven't seen the ants since. My issue now is with their scheduling. I have always scheduled with the technician, Tom, and it has been flawless, except for the one time when someone else decided to change the date without telling me. The only reason I knew, was that I got an email a few days before the new date. I called and told them I had already scheduled for another time and I wanted it back on that time. It was a nightmare trying to get it back to when it was originally scheduled. The tech told me that they don't look at what he has scheduled with customers, they just arbitrarily make their own schedule that overwrites what the tech has done. I was out of town for the last service, so was not able to schedule the next one. I got an email on the 24th saying they were coming out on the 26th, and would I like to schedule a time. I emailed back and gave them a time. That time has come and gone. I called and they told me they have me on the schedule for the 30th. I have gone back over the emails. It definitely says I am on the schedule for the 26th. When I asked for a specific time, I asked for 7-8 am ON THE 26th!!! Their response was they would see me at 8 am. Good job if your goal was to make the customer feel unimportant. I am looking for a new company. read more

Bed bug disaster. Decided to spend the big bucks for peace of mind- and called Cascade. No peace of mind given. They did not deliver what they promised for the price of $1100, didn't show up on time, didn't bring what they needed, and after promising 4 visits on the phone, the technician who came out told me only one was included in the price and each additional should cost over $300. After a call to the manager they did come back out, but again didn't bring the equipment they promised. There is no communication between the office and the technicians- none. Not professional. And worse than everything- I am not sure they even took care of the problem after making me feel cheap and high maintenance. Don't call Cascade for bedbugs. Save yourself weeks of sleep and spend your money elsewhere. read more

AVOID! They like to use scare tactics to intimidate you into paying WAY more for services you don't even need! The first initial inspection costs us $400, which basically involved the guy coming and taking pictures and telling us these horror stories of what's happening. Then he sets some "traps" but they end up being useless (as verified by a second opinion extermination company) and then says he'll come back to do the "exclusion" work -- i.e., the real job -- only if you agree to pay the $1500 (!!!!) for the work! We felt that was really, really high and got a second opinion. This company said there's zero evidence of what the cascade guy said was there, proper traps weren't even set, and for the $400 we spent we basically got nothing done to actually deal with the problem. So a job that would normally cost around $600 THE MOST the guy from cascade wanted to hose us for almost $2000! The company itself was ok to deal with, but the actual exterminator guy they contracted with to do the work was horrendous, and either a con or had no idea what he was actually doing. My advice -- move on to someone more professional you can trust! read more
