We had dinner here the other night and overall everything was pretty good. Firstly, the atmosphere has a fun casual feel with comfy booths and a long bar. We were promptly greeted and taken to a table. Our server was excellent and took great care of us ensuring our waters were consistently full and answered any questions I had about gluten. Many of their menu items are labeled gluten free for easy navigation. I chose the schnitzel sandwich with a gf bun and fries which are prepared in a dedicated fryer. My friends had a milkshake and burger. All of our meals were good and I enjoyed the fries happy knowing the kitchen takes extra precautions to ensure everything is safe. Ahi TunaThe Ahi Tuna was the best we'd ever had! The Coho wild salmon served on deep fried mushroom risotto was out of this world!! We will make this our #1 stop on our next visit. They even had local area beer on tap. With tapped kombucha to boot. The owner came by the table for a friendly conversation. The server was the right amount of attentive without being bothersome. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Olympia! The food is delicious and the service is exceptional! I'm trying to eat my way through their vegetarian menu, which is extensive, and so far everything has been really delicious! My favorites so far are the vegetarian Philly sandwich and vegetarian meatball sandwich. For meat eaters, they serve my husband's favorite burger in town. My family considered multiple restaurants in downtown Olympia for an early dinner before going to the Washington Center. We finally decided on Cascadia (first time) because it was the only place that offered items our daughter would eat. We were immediately greeted with genuine kindness and warmth. We were seated within a few minutes and waitress arrived shortly after. She was friendly, efficient, and came back to the table a few times throughout the meal just to make sure we were doing okay. The food: We had one of the burgers, creole chicken, and cajun pasta. The portions were huge and everything was fantastic! Upon entering, it smelled of spiced mulled wine, so I ordered some. It was spiced and strong. We started the appetizers with the Smoked Trout and Salmon Cakes. Both were really good. I ordered the Hot Porky Goodness salad~pulled pork on greens, cabbage, grape tomatoes, red onions, jalapeños, pumpkin seeds, and cilantro with buttermilk ranch dressing. OK. Day of celebration. My family has finally left Washington state! Bitter sweet day. We have many great friends and extended family, you know who you are Rockets, in the state. But the politics and non-law enforcement in not our town, but next door, has prevented us from ordering from our favorite...oh....heck. Cascadia Grill for the past monthhas a been a non-go due to protests in the area. As for pick up or as a family it was a risk we couldn't chance. We knew we were moving and wanted a great meal before hand. For you still citizens of Washington, and especially Olympia, it's time to vote in November. Any visiting Olympia or near by it is a great place to eat. I recommend the Poutine and DB Cooper Burger but everything is great. Cascadia....we will miss you. Super cool funky vibe, nice and cozy. Jazz music yes! All the staff was super upbeat. Funny, kind, and helpful. My husband and I had the house Pinot Grigio, very good. I had the clam and mussel dish. It was AMAZING. I wanted to ask them to make a whole other order for me to take home so I could eat it for another day. FABULOUS. Truly..you have to get this. I can't believe I've lived here for 10 years and never tried this gem of a restaurant. The ambience is cozy and warm with lots of wood, brass, and interesting photos on the wall. Staff was friendly and attentive without hovering. Covid safety measures were used. We ordered the poutine appetizer and it was delicious. Not too greasy or salty as some places serve it. My main dish was the "Flex Them Mussels and Clams" and it was beautifully presented with a huge mound of shellfish on top of the pasta and fresh herbs and tomatoes. It was light and flavorful and enough for 2 meals. My brother had the bratwurst burger and said it was amazing. The cocktails were tasty and unique, too. The food and server were excellent. The server recommended I try their take on a Steak Bahn Mi while my father had fried chicken. Both were delicious. The atmosphere has to be one of the best in Olympia with a North West cascadia them. My one and only issue is worker safety. As the weather is approaching a 100° the owner is requiring the staff to maintain the uniform of a flannel. I could see my server was visibly uncomfortable in the cold weather clothing and I am concerned that an employee could get seriously injured from heat stroke or exhaustion. Management either needs to allow for exceptions to uniforms on 90° plus days or provide light breathable flannels for the extreme heat days. If it was not for my concerns about worker safety this would be a 5 star review. read more

The atmosphere and staff continues to be friendly and inviting, but unfortunately our last couple of visits have been underwhelming. This used to be our "go-to" place in town and we've tried nearly everything on the menu. I know they make good quality food, but recently we've noticed that the dishes are either over or undercooked and heavily salted. I recently ordered the Cohos Gone Wild and my salmon was barely cooked, the risotto too salty to finish. I am willing to try the food here again, but I may need a little break for the time being. read more
