My husband and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary at Cascata. We were sooo pleased by our experience that we are already talking about going back. We got a reservation for a Saturday night, but this didn't seem necessary as there were plenty of open tables. Our server was kind and funny, making us feel fine with accidentally blowing out our table candle. Now what you really want to know is about the food. It was simply divine. We both had signature dishes, lobster tortellini and the pork chop. Both dishes were delicious. The lobster tortellini had a corn sauce, which was perfectly paired with greens. The pork chop was juicy and perfectly cooked. We also shared the tiramisu, which was the perfect ending to our meal. The sommelier was able to provide us with a wine that met our wants and would pair nicely with our meal. An upscale dining experience that is worth every single penny. If you're prone to accidentally blowing out your candle, maybe bring your own lighter. The space is comfortable and unlike other restaurants in Sioux Falls. read more

Heavily average food. We tried a bit of everything and were not outwardly impressed by much. The Gnocchi was dry, but flavored nicely. The salmon was decent, with the star being the beans. We ordered a burrata salad, but our waitress assumed it was the burrata pizza. We were surprised when it came out, but ate it anyway and were extremely underwhelmed. The steak filet was alright with the potatoes being the star. It would have been nice to get a steak knife, but they didn't seem to have one available. New Italian restaurant in Sioux Falls! Friends and I stopped by for dinner plans at Cascata after hearing about their opening. We had reservations and encourage others to reserve. I ordered the short rib pappardelle and it was amazing, a big serving and very filling. The short rib was delicious, meat had a lot of flavor and pasta was cooked al dente. The combination of everything in this dish was 5/5. Fungi Pizza- didn't have truffle oil flavor at all, was it missed? it wasn't our favorite. 2.5/5 My friend that ordered the farmaggio di ravioli carbonara was pleased, she said it was missing a "punch" of flavor but had good consistency. She rated this 4/5. My other friend that ordered the lobster tortelloni mentioned that there was corn inside, which threw off the textures of this pasta. Description mentioned corn sauce however not that it was inside of the tortelloni. The sauce was good. Rating 2/5. Lemon ricotta cheesecake was a 5/5, creamy, delicious and not too sweet. Perfect to share. I'd definitely come back just for a slice of this cheesecake! We didn't order cocktails but I did ask for warm water and a lemon. Service was good. Place feels upscale. There's also a view of the falls but it was too dark at night to see anything. Beautiful restaurant overall. Beautiful Italian restaurant located within Canopy hotel. We loved the ambient and the staff were friendly! We were here on a Saturday for their brunch menu. The portion of the dishes were very generous, we had tried steak & egg and their pasta dish, it was amazing. We also enjoyed some cocktails here, the old fashioned was on point and the presentation was simple yet beautiful. Wonderful atmosphere and attentive service! Our server, Mike, was very knowledgeable not only about the menu, but also about the Steel District. The espresso martini was excellent! Didn't care for Molto Tempo but if you're a big scotch fan you'll enjoy it. The dressing on the insalata di fresca salad was phenomenal! Very refreshing! I specifically came for the Short Rib Pappardelle and it did not disappoint! If I had one recommendation, it would be for complimentary bread and oil/butter to be served. I have now had a couple dinners at the bar and have found the food to be good and the service provided by the bartender, Willow, to be great! However, the one drawback of this establishment that has resulted in early departures for myself and others, is that the music is AWFUL. It would be an easy fix to get rid of the Italian pop station, and so I am hopeful it will be removed soon. read more

Overall, we were pretty underwhelmed. For the food, nothing was necessarily bad, but nothing was great. It seemed like everything needed just a little more oomph to be good. The tiramisu was honestly great--probably one of my favorites in town now. The lobster tortelloni and the pork chop were fine. The pork needed way more sauce and two budding pieces of broccolini felt odd. The bombolini were barely filled with the hazelnut cream (which kind of just tasted like chocolate pudding?) and the dough was very dry/flavorless. The Italian margarita and wine were good. The worst part for us was the service. The host sat us down and filled waters and then we didn't get spoken to for close to 10 minutes. The girl who eventually was our server had walked by our table at least four times and never stopped to even say that she'd be with us when she could. After we ordered, she didn't come back to our table until we had almost finished eating--someone else ran apps and entrees to us. We had been out of drinks for a while which was a bummer. When we ordered desserts, she didn't take our entree plates with her and just left them sitting there? I don't know. The whole experience was weird and underwhelming. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Such good vibes. I'll probably give it another chance because I want to like it, but it was just an odd experience. They have a great location, and nice interior/patio. My party ordered the Caprese app/salad. It looked good, but was below average. It went downhill from there. Ordered spicy pepperoni pizza. We arrived about 45 minutes before closing -- something we normally avoid -- but after getting into town late we were desperate for a good meal. The staff couldn't have been warmer or more welcoming despite the late hour. With no other diners inside, we essentially had the restaurant to ourselves, and the service was attentive and genuinely friendly. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The prosciutto pizza was perfectly balanced, the short rib pappardelle was rich and comforting, and even the side of pesto gnocchi was memorable -- soft, flavorful, and delicious. Willow was absolutely amazing as our bartender. We had her both Friday and Saturday nights and she was fantastic. She was attentive, friendly, and funny. We enjoyed our cocktails (nice and strong!), the relaxing atmosphere and a lovely time spent with others. The lemon ricotta cheesecake was a delicious treat to end the evening. Sat in the bar area which has a lovely atmosphere.... The barista (Willow) that was on December 25 in the evening is tops. The fare we ordered was quite faire. No complaints just a suggestion. We had old fashions. Our bites were the walleye with root vegetables and a side of pesto gnocchi.... All prepared well. My only thing I'd change would more of the sauce. The interior of the restaurant was lovely but that's not why you go out to eat. For an Italian restaurant it didn't have much in the way of Italian cuisine or ambiance. My husband's risotto was dry. My Lychee drink had no Lychee, and frankly it was very bitter. I ordered the halibut and while it was cooked well and flaky it was equally tasteless. I know I make it sound like the food was bad It wasn't It was fine but it wasn't what we paid for. The food was not of the caliber that the restaurant suggested that it would be. Staff was charming and very attentive but I was disappointed that our waiter didn't notice I didn't drink my cocktail. If he had offered me something else perhaps I'd have had a better attitude about everything overall. But he let the full drink sit there through the entire meal, dropped the check and never said a word. Some places are a one and done. My husband and I eat out quite often and this is not a place that we would choose to come back to. In their defense, it could be that they're still relatively new and trying to find their feet. Maybe if someone else goes and has a really great experience and posts it I will reconsider in the future. But for now, with so many wonderful places to eat in Sioux Falls, I just don't see the need. read more

We stopped in on a Saturday night. We were surprised to get in quickly , I thought there must have been an event going on (April 12th?) because its always looked too busy before. The atmosphere and feel of the restaurant gave me hopes that this would be my new favorite place. The only thing to destroy that hope would the be service. Thankfully our server Autumn came through with flying colors! Attentive, made suggestions , let us know the expected time to arrive at our table, since it was running a bit behind. The food was excellent. I had a late lunch unfortunately , but I will be back for more The only downfall was that the restrooms are part of the building not the restaurant. The food was average at best. Certainly not worth the $240 we spent for 2 people. The portions are small, so you need to order multiple appetizers. The "HERBED FOCCACIA" is simply a bread board with 3 types of sliced bread (not warm) and olive oil on the side. The same thing you will receive at EVERY other italian restaurant for FREE. The "SHORT RIB PAPPARDELLE" could have been good, but they forgot the Tomato Ragout, so it was just rib meat on noodles. The "CRAB & SHRIMP RISOTTO" was dry and tasteless, I could tell there was crab in there, and the shrimp were good, but no hint of scampi butter or herbs or flavor. The "TORTA DI GRANCHIO" was actually very good, outstanding flavors, but quite small. To call it a "jumbo crab cake" is ridiculous! (it was about 3 small bites per person (2 people). It was cold outside and cold inside, ALL of the customers wore their jackets or sweaters during the meal. The overhead music was some sort of Electronic dance music or modern pop, more suited for a dance club than a high-dollar restaurant. Read the crowd, nearly everyone was over 40. The staff was pleasant and attentive. NO complaints about the people or service. The restaurant interior is well done and comfortable, the main dining area is floor to ceiling windows, so I assume the view will be outstanding in the summer. This place has potential, I hope this management team makes corrections and does not screw it up worse. We will check back in 6 months read more
