    Pepperoni Jalapeño pizza
    Erick A.

Solid pizza! It's super close to my house & never misses. Staff is friendly as well. Haven't explored much outside of their pizza's, but that's for an obvious reason... we love their pizza haha. ***Would not suggest getting the chocolate cake slice, it was the size of half of a cupcake. For $5.50, not a good deal whatsoever. Everything else is solid. *** UPDATE FOR MY EXPERIENCE.

Football half cheese and half sausage pizza
    Mahima V.

I ordered their football pizza for a work party last week. The pizza was half cheese, half sausage. The process of ordering on their website was effortless. Their delivery driver was very friendly and professional. My colleagues raved about the pizza and it was enough for 10 people. The pizza also came at a great value as it was for $35 before tip.

Posto 31 is located in Lagrange Park which is just slightly outside and west of the city. Their restaurant week deal is $45 per person for dinner and every adult in the party is required to participate. We tried the following: 1) Pork belly with a brown butter sweet potato mash and apple slaw - This was a delicious and refreshing appetizer. The fat isn't excessive and there is a good sear with the pork belly. I think it was different in a sense that it didn't exactly go with the Italian theme. 2) Arancini with chicken, parmesan, mozzarella, and marinara. This is the standard fare and you can't go wrong with this selection. 3) Faroe Island salmon with squash puree and Brussel sprout slaw. The salmon was well executed and I loved how it was paired with the slaw. 4) Arrabbiata with squid ink linguini and jumbo shrimp. This was the star of the night and what drew our attention when we first reviewed the restaurant week menu. It is rare to find squid ink linguini in the city and neighboring suburbs. The portion was huge and the flavors were absolutely delicious. We are already planning a return to order this again. 5) Tiramisu was the standard fare and once again, the portion was huge. We demolished it though. 6) Cookie skillet had a square of chocolate chip cookie topped with candied pretzels, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream. We did not get to try it because our girls just took it to town. So needless to say, it was thoroughly enjoyed. We also ordered the kids' an eight inch pepperoni pizza. It was more than enough for our two girls to share.

The menu was phenomenal, the server had a great wine selection and the ambiance was so cozy and inviting with beautifully lit tables and a peach color rose bud on every table. Table service was also on point with the server keeping our wine glasses filled and the busboy making sure our flatware was replaced and fresh dishes were added. We each ordered from the RW menu, we got the pistachio crusted lamb, blackberry sage coulis duck breast and halibut and gulf shrimp in a coconut lime sauce. Can't wait to go back to this great find again.

The bar had a very nice selection of cocktails and we got the pisco sours - which were mixed well. For starters - we got the grilled spanish octopus. Any place there is octopus, we order it. Marco's octopus was definitely a shining star. We thoroughly enjoyed it and despite not being eggplant fans, it was a great pairing. We also got the grilled romaine salad and Soubise soup (french onion) and while I loved the soup (especially on a cold day) - my husband thought the salad was just okay - nothing that would entice him to order it again. For entrees - I got the filet gorgonzola and he got one of the seafood specials - I think it was salmon. Both entrees were fine - and my filet reheated nicely the next day - but nothing outstanding. Overall - a good restaurant - but again - nothing outstanding.

The restaurant has a classic old-school Italian supper club vibe. The staff is very friendly, and the owner, Joe, is almost always there greeting guests with a warm smile and a handshake, which adds a nice personal touch. We sat at the bar and were immediately acknowledged by Gia, who has served us before and always provides great service. She took our drink order and returned shortly afterward to take our food order. My wife ordered a 9" thin crust pizza topped with cheese, sausage, tomatoes, green peppers, and mushrooms. She said it was one of the best pizzas she has ever had. The crust was thin and crispy without being overcooked, and all of the toppings were fresh and flavorful. I started with the fried smelt appetizer. The lightly battered smelts were cooked to a perfect golden brown. The light breading allowed the flavor of the fish to really come through, and the house tartar sauce complemented them nicely. For my entrée, I ordered the corned beef and cabbage dinner special, which is available throughout the month of March. The dinner includes Parker House rolls (which could be a meal in themselves) and a choice of soup or salad. I chose the tomato bisque. The soup was creamy with a rich tomato flavor and small pieces of tomato throughout. It was easily the best tomato bisque I have ever had. The corned beef arrived nicely trimmed and had a great, hearty beef flavor without being dry. It was served with a cabbage wedge and sliced carrots. I appreciated that the vegetables remained slightly firm while still absorbing the flavor from the corned beef. I also requested a side of creamy horseradish sauce, which paired perfectly with the dish. Overall, we had a truly great experience and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Across from the truck depot, it would make a great hangout for DeNiro and Pesci if they ever made a Chicago based mob movie. For those complaining that it feels like 1978 inside, what's wrong with that? The martinis are bone dry and ice cold, as they should be. The fried smelts are just like Nonna made and the menu is good and affordable. Is it the best veal parm you'll ever have? No, probably not, but it's authentic Chicago.

Great Food and Warm Hospitality, but the Building Needs Attention…read more Saban's Place delivers where it counts in the kitchen, no question there, and the overall experience is shaped by the fact that this is, first and foremost, a regulars' hangout. If you're part of the long-time crowd, and enjoy a good cocktail, (or many), everything about the place probably feels exactly right. For people visiting for the first time, a few things stand out. The food remains the strongest part of the experience. My fried chicken was cooked perfectly - crispy, juicy, and generously portioned with four pieces. The salad was fresh, sides were solid, and the kitchen clearly knows its craft. Hospitality also reflects that "family-first" energy. The welcome at the door felt sincere, the staff seemed to know half the room by name, and there's a comfort in that old-school, locals-only atmosphere. Service was acceptable but uneven. Our server was friendly, but clearly had too many stations. So drink refills lagged and follow-up took longer than it should. It wasn't a deal-breaker - just not as sharp as it could be if there were the right number of staff for the room. Where the gap really shows up is in the facility itself. The vintage charm is intact, but so are the worn chairs, tables, and floors, and the bathrooms need a serious update, re-fixturing, and regular cleaning during service hours. Regulars may see it as part of the charm - and that's fair - but for a fresh set of eyes, it reads as deferred maintenance. Bottom line: excellent food and genuine people. Just know you're stepping into a place built around the comfort of its regulars, and everything gets better after an old-fashioned or two. Every place gets a second chance, as the regulars here prove, so I will go back and try it again.
