This is my first time to this shop per the recommendation of a friend. I called to see the price of a synthetic oil change and was pleased with the price. They put me down for an appointment. When I walked in I was delighted to see a clean waiting area with a keurig. They immediately got my car into the shop to work in. I came over my lunch break to minimize my time lost in the office. Since I was here over lunch I brought a salad to eat while I waited (eating is always a good way to pass the time). I was politely informed I had to eat outside. At first I was a little put off, but the air fresheners they are using are pretty strong and the weather was nice so I figured going outside was a good idea anyway. Carl was so nice. He brought out a bench and a table for me to use. As for the oil change (the important part, right?) they did a great job and it was fairly quick. I was in and out within 30 minutes!! On top of that they didn't try to upsell me on anything. They just simply gave me a recommendation for next time that I needed a new air filter and battery. I'll definitely be back for all of my oil changes, just not during lunch. read more

I've used Casey's for years and they always go above and beyond. Had to use the dealer with our new cars (Tahoe and Audi) and was so happy when the warranty went out so I could go back to Casey's. I'm not even going to go into the details of the service (lack there of) from the mission location. stay clear...I'm sure when the original owner was running things it was good...now they leave work undone and when there was work done it was shoddy. paid for an alignment, (after the other work wasn't done, tie rods) , turns out it was never done also. stay clear. $1500 lesson learned later work needs to be redone. read more

Carl was so patient with a problematic insurance issue we faced when our catalytic converter was recently stolen. He cooperated throughout many miscommunications regarding our claim and really jumped through hoops to make sure everything was resolved. Worst service I have ever seen or heard of. My elderly mom got her oil changed by this place. She asked them to fill up the anti-freeze. The car proceeded to overheat when she drove it a couple days later. Turns out it was low on anti-freeze. Could it have been a coincidence? I don't know. Nevertheless, She wen't back in and the owner proceeded to say the anti-freeze was not part of her oil change. It was on my mom's receipt as an extra cost for crying out loud. My mom contested it and the owner yelled at her and said something like "how dare you embarrass me in front of my customers." My mom is, 5'2", 70 years old, fighting cancer, Mission resident for 30 years and this grown man verbally accosts her. She is not a very intimidating person. So in my opinion, Casey is untrustworthy and is mean to old ladies. Would you want to take your business there? I know I won't and anyone I know won't either. read more

Update: I continue to have good experiences with this auto repair shop. They get the job done for a reasonable price and have very good customer service. Also the waiting area is extremely clean, and they have coffee, chocolate, brain teaser puzzles, and an old table-style arcade game (Space Invaders). read more

So as I mentioned, here is my update. I called the day I wrote the other review and made an appointment for this morning at 7:30 am. I had called and indicated that I needed my car aligned due to getting stuck in the mud. The lady (sorry, I didn't catch her name when I snottily left the other day) at the desk asked if I was sure that I needed that done. I said that the car had been pulled from the mud and was driving funny ever since but if they wanted to check it out and make sure it needed that before that was a-ok with me. I received a called around 8:30 am from Carl. He indicated that he had taken the car out twice and, the second time, was able to get up to speed to make it shake. He had checked the alignment and it was perfectly fine. He did find the wheels on the front caked in mud and chisled it off for me and said it was ready. I arrived just after lunch expecting a labor bill at least - no charge. I really appreciate that great service that I have received when I have been able to get my car in. I am now at 50%. I have a couple of oil changes I need done on two vehicles and will be making my appointments to get that done. Look for another review update in the next month or so - I see a 5 star in their future. :) read more

Carl at Caseys does not stand behind his work and does a poor quality job. Have had a couple small repairs done at this shop and each time have had to return to get it refixed because the work wasnt done properly 1st time. Recently the window mechanism went out which Caseys repaired a couple years ago on a vehicle that is used approx 1-2 times per month. Carl would not allow me to come in for several days, when i said the car isnt garaged and there is bad weather coming... he said it "wasnt his problem and he didnt care find a place to put it ." Told him i was upset and Carl was extremely rude back. Brought the car at a different date and Carl refused to look at what the problem was and said find somewhere to get it worked on. Based on other reviews you can tell this is a crummy auto shop. read more

My stepson has been taking his vehicles over the years and has been quite happy. I took my car there today when my Check Engine light came on. After trying to track it down the problem myself and was unsuccessful, I took it to Casey's. They diagnosed the problem as the Check Engine light needed to be simply reset after the gas cap was left off for a short period of time. Carl called me less than two hours after I dropped the car off and told me the problem and there was no charge! Another place closer to my house had told me there was a charge just to hook it up to the diagnostics. Hopefully I won't need car repairs again anytime soon, but I will go to Casey's Auto! read more

I learned that Carl is Not a man of his word. I was car shopping for my daughter and brought a car by for him to look at. We decided that it had been wrecked and not to buy it. But Carl showed be a Sebring that he said he would sell me for $1000.00 i said ok and he said he had to do a few things to it but he would call me when it was ready. So i waited then i got a concussion and had brain rest for two weeks. The first day i could drive i went to ask about the car, because we had seen another car but said no. I told Carl i would buy his. Well he sold it to his niece instead so now my daughter who has to drive to Hays to take her teaching final has no way to get there. thanks alot AND i took my mustang to another mechanic and he said the way it was all taped together i was driving a death trap. I have taken my car to Casey's for a few other little repairs, and was always pleased with the work and service. However, I recently took my car there to be told that it needed repairs to the exhaust that would cost upwards of $700. My car is 6 years old and is always regularly maintained. I was very skeptical and ended up taking my car elsewhere. It ended up being a SIMPLE $45 repair. I was very saddened that Casey's tried to take advantage of me, since I had been there before and even recommended some other friends to them. read more

This place is awesome: reasonably priced and not disruptive to my schedule. I can wait for most services in their swanky waiting area and it only takes them 45 minutes to do what the Acura dealership takes two hours to accomplish. You will also avoid any sketchy hard core pressure to buy service you don't need. I'll save $ on my next car buying a Honda instead of an Acura and just bring it here; screw Superior. read more

These guys are top notch for repairs. After hearing a loud noise from what I thought was the transmission or drive train, I took my 07 Silverado to a transmission place. Their expert diagnosis was to do more diagnostics, so I brought it to Casey's. They took their time to find the source of the noise and found some loose bolts on the flywheel and had me back on the road that day. Nick and Carl are great mechanics. read more

I recently moved to Kansas City, and this is the first auto repair I've had here. Most of the time I will make the trip back to my home town to a mechanic that I know and trust. However after reading all of the reviews for this place, I decided to forego the trip and check it out. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed. The service is friendly and reliable. I called ahead to see how much a thermostat replacement would be, and when they looked at my car, they were able to quote an even lower price than the original. Im an older woman looking for an honest mechanic. I took my car here and was told I needed a complete rear brake replacement, Carl Casey told me it would cost between $400 and $500..when I picked up my car it was $623. One week later, I noticed that my driver's side mirror was vibrating like it was loose when I drove on the highway. I called Carl and told him that I thought it needed tightening. I brought it to him, he put his finger on a screw underneath and deemed by this action, that it had been hit in a parking lot and needed to be completely replaced. I told him that, that did not make sense to me because it was completely functional. For the life of me, I don't know why someone wouldnt even try to take a tool to see if tightening it would work. To make matters worse, he grabbed the whole side mirror and started jerking it back and forth, and I had to tell him to stop! He got visibly angry with me for questioning him, and stopping him from breaking my mirror completely and stormed inside. I ended up putting my need for someone to help me tighten my mirror on a local neighborhood blog, and I ended up having about 10 people offer to help me. I had a nice young man in his twenties, come to my house and within about 10 minutes he tightened the screws, and my mirror was good as new. I am totally sickened by these businesses that take advantage of people, especially women. They need to be exposed. I see a lot of people in my business and personal life, and I will tell everyone of my experience with Casey Automotive Repair. read more

I have read the negative reviews and have some knowledge. They did not accept the offer for the sale of the vehicles in the time frame allotted. So the car was sold. Like with any business - there is no obligation unless there is a deposit. We have been customers for more than a decade. Casey has the best pricing and best service of any local car repair place in the Mission - Merriam area. He has always 100% stood behind his work, if something does go wrong, he has made it right. In one of the cases below, there is the potential of legal action due to false statements. If the people were honest, they would remove the inaccurate information. Never again. Took my truck in with no brakes. $1000 later he sent me out the door. Brakes still bad. Took it back. Sent me off again assuring me brakes were okay. Total failure within 45 miles. Took it back thinking he would be willing to make it right. Nope, another $500 and he didn't even call with an estimate. Out the door again. Still not right. I am done. I wouldn't take a car there to clean the windshield, let alone anything serious. Never again. He knew I was unhappy with the no repair repair and didn't care a lick. Ok so here goes, Carl is a nice guy but that being said I don't feel he knows what he's doing case in point. I brought my car in with a bad shake in the steering he said it needed the rack and pinion changed and I had a problem with one side of the rear higher then the other he checked said it needed new shocks and struts, total 1800 dollars. I am unemployed and on disability due to an injury on my job so that's a lot of money for me but I said ok because my mother in law said he was good later to find out she only gets her oil changed, anyway got the work done he said his son took it for a test drive and all was good. I left took it on the highway it was all over the place like when I brought it in. Now the shocks and struts, after I got home I looked better and saw still a difference in tight got under the car and the shock on the left side was covered in oil so I knew he had installed a dead shock. So on bringing it back three times cause work wasn't done right he said the shimmy in the front was probably because of bad tired after he tells me it's the rack and pinion for 900 dollars and the bad shock he put another one on and my car is still the same. So here's the bottom line I spent around 1800 dollars to get my car back exactly the way I brought it in. I will never bring it back here, I am so furious. read more

I was charged $140 for Carl to re-clamp a hose to my engine (the clamp was still there but needed to be tightened) and put anti-freeze in my car. That's it. That's ALL he did. Specifically he changed me $50 in antifreeze (VERY Strange because it only holds slightly more than half a gallon), and $85 in labor. No joke. I'm a single mom and I suppose he thought I'm completely ignorant and he could take financial advantage. When I protested and told him I will be leaving a poor review he said, "Well we had to test drive it too." (Apparently test drives are a ridiculous amount of money!) If you're a woman I'd definitely steer clear of this place because this guy may take financial advantage of you as he did me. I'm reporting him to the BBB and the Attorney General's Office as well. read more

I started using Casey's last year for my automotive needs based on the number of positive reviews I read and also a solid recommendation from one of my friends. A couple of weeks ago, the heater in my SUV quit working along with the fan switch. They got me in promptly and fixed everything for what I considered to be a very reasonable price. The heater works like a charm now. Casey's is honest and does great work at a fair price. They've never tried to "upsell" me on anything or charge me more than their quoted amount. They also do a lot of good stuff for the community and participate in a lot of local civic activities. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

He is the best mechanic I have ever dealt with I was having problems with my car took it to Carl and he had it diagnosed and fixed all in one day when the dealers could not. I don't even care about my warranty with the dealer anymore just a waste of time and money Casey's Auto Repair is the only way to go.
