This place is by far the best barber shop I have been to. I've been coming here for over a year now and I have never left disappointed. I couldn't find a barber that was able to produce the cut I wanted based on my description, but Joe has managed to do that ever since I first sat in his chair. Post long over due. I made an appointment with Casey, but when I got there with my son I was given someone else. Fine I trust them. Given they were nice, patient. But when it was time for charging for my then 2yo boy the young guy was charging $40. I was shocked. He must of her the surprise in my voice. He dropped it to $35. Still, I think I was being over charged maybe because I'm a female with a 2yo, and new born. But that was the first and last time I went. I didn't want to give them less stars as service was good. Haircut wasn't anything extreme that I asked for. Other than being passed on to someone else, and being over charged it's a decent place. I just think$40 for a toddler is way too much. read more

Came in as a walk in since I have a huge interview tomorrow. Casey was super nice and welcomed me immediately. He finished his haircut and seated me within 20 minutes which is super great not knowing how long it could take. I just moved to Monrovia and needed a haircut so I decided to check out Casey's. It was last minute so I called them and made an appointment for 9:30am. I don't like to ever be late so I arrived 15 minutes early. First of all, I liked the music they were playing in their shop. It was pretty cool to hear some 80's music while waiting. Now, I'm used to someone checking me in but I guess it was kinda busy that no one did. I didn't know who was gonna cut my hair. As I sat there, the barber who actually ended up cutting my hair told me that he'll take care of me as soon as he gets done with someone else who apparently was his appointment before mine. I guess the customer was running late because he walked in at the same time the barber told me I was next. About half an hour later, he was done and it was my turn. I don't know if that's how things happen there since it was my first time but I almost never am kept waiting that long especially when I called in ahead and was given a specific time. As for the haircut, I'm very particular so I am happy to say that I really liked the way the barber cut my hair. He even lined up my beard to where I wanted it so that's a plus. The only thing bad was the fact that even though an appointment was made and I arrived earlier than scheduled, I will be going there again in the hopes that what happened was just an odd coincidence. read more

Called to ask if they were enforcing Covid requirements, mask wearing, and was told an enthusiastic "no". I replied "OK, thank you very much", and as I uttered that last word - the man I was speaking with hung up on me. Extremely unprofessional. If you are an educated, responsible adult who respect laws, and values the importance of keeping your fellow citizens safe....then you should consider finding a different barber. If he had politely and respectfully responded to my question, I might not have written this review. However the attitude in which he is openly and enthusiastically defying the law is unfortunate, and people should be aware. read more

Finally found a spot i can rely on for a proper hair cut. Great hours of business and my barber Joe does a great job on the fades. Clean place and spacious. I just text a message to Joe and scheduling for a haircut is easy. Parking on the street is easy and its free parking. Laid back spot with professional barbers that know their stuff. Came to this Barbershop about a month ago to get a cut. I chose this place because appointments cost the same as a normal cut. (About 20$) I had scheduled mine on a Friday at around 5pm with Casey the owner. When I showed up there was 3 barbers including Casey in an empty seat waiting for me. There was 2 other people getting cut and about 2 guys waiting. Very small joint but clean. I got a comb over with a 1 fade. Total time it took Casey to cut my hair was probably less than 10 minutes. It wasn't the neatest job, and I was sitting there for probably 20-30 minutes. Casey would occasionally stop what he was doing and start talking to his employees about scheduling and who comes in tomorrow and whatever. Because of this, this turned the 10 minute cut into a 30 minute one. Usually I wouldnt mind a longer hair cut but this one was very average and nothing special. read more

Casey and the boys are awesome. If you slip him an extra $5, he'll let you sit on the skateboard deck booster seat which is SO FUN because it makes you feel big and tall like Casey. Casey made our day! My brother came into town for a funeral. He had a full head of hair and my parents explained how he's had bad experiences in the past due to his cerebral palsy and wheelchair requirements. We requested an appointment with Casey and he was able to fit him with a quickness. When we got there Casey helped my brother into the barber chair and made him feel right at home. As he started to cut his hair, Casey noticed my brother's involuntary startle and checked on him frequently. He worked around his challenges but never let my brother know how difficult it was. Since moving to Monrovia I've been needing a haircut, but I'm both lazy and picky about barbers. However I couldn't take it anymore so I did some research and decided to at least start with Casey's. I'm really glad I did, because I got an excellent cut and great service. I called at noon and they were able to get me in at 12:30. Alex is the one who cut my hair and she understood right away what I was looking for and pulled it off expertly. I wasn't upsold and didn't have products pushed on me. This is a modern day old fashioned barber shop and I love it. This will be my shop from now on due to the folks running it and the level/cost/range of services. Good for older style haircuts because most of the haircuts they were doing were the old high and tight military style cuts. When I requested I wanted a mid fade they still went crazy high. The fades aren't blending as well as they should. When I asked, "why did you go so high on my fade when I told you leave it a bit long on the top?" he said, "it's because your hair is like this." Not that he's the best barber that I've ever come across (I have tried at least a dozen); especially that I'm excessively picky but the fact that he actually cuts the hair to your liking. You may think that's the job of the barber to cut your hair the way you like it but for whatever reason most places don't do it the way you want to they want to cut it the way they think your head to look. That being said Casey doesn't do the "cooking cutting" style or rushes it to get to the next customer. I highly recommend all to come try his expertise and see his new shop... Bonus points he also has David and a couple other guys that can cut just as good as Casey just incase his calendar is booked up too! Pros: cuts the way you tell them to cut. I've been to multiple barber shops, super cuts, and have tried to stick with one-- especially to support the peeps I stick with but Casey runs the best business all together.
