I just had the best haircut experience ever! I HATE getting haircuts at a barber because it's just so macho and lame in there...there's always football jerseys on the wall and pictures of half naked chicks. The barbers are always ex-baseball coaches way past their prime and there's like 4 TVs playing the Spike channel. I'm sooo not into that. But this place I went to was so chill! It was small, with nice rustic decor. Wooden cabinets and such. Lots of cool wall art and old photographs. A deer head mounted on the wall. They were just playing classy jazz music the whole time...and not a single television. They only accepted cash too which made it seem even more old-fashioned. It was so great and relaxing. Casey was also a really cool guy who let me run to an ATM across the street to get cash to pay for my awesome haircut! They guys think it's funny to put bumper stickers on people trucks when you park out front. Park there for 10 minutes and when I came back they had put a Trump 2020 sticker on my tail gate. I recognized 2 out of 3 of the barbers sitting out front. I used to get my hair cut here. Now I will not be returning because of their stupid prank. I don't care about political parties. OK...so...I've been living in Japan for a year, getting my hair cut and styled at a fashionable salon in the trendy Shinsaibashi area of Osaka. I got my hair cut there before I came home to Monrovia, just a little over five weeks ago. I made an appointment with Casey himself and showed him a picture of my hair cut from Japan; to say I was nervous would be an understatement. I sat in the chair, took off my glasses and... BOOM! No fuss, no muss, he went right to work. My point is...I am very particular when it comes to cutting and styling my hair, and Casey gave me a terrific haircut! Very disappointed in this place. When you post that you take walk-ins, it's known you will attend accordingly. I went to this place recommended by a Facebook group. Sadly I will not be returning. I do agree that Casey us the best Barber in Monrovia. I work in Glendale and Pasadena and will wait till I can make it to Casey before having someone else butcher my hair. There is nothing worse then a bad hair cut. My son is 8 years old and its very difficult for him to sit still. First off EVERY single barber here is talented and humble. They make you feel right at home and are very approachable. Casey is my guy but I've also had a few cuts from other employees and they never disappoint. The team really shows up and puts their best work in. He was efficient but on point with my fade! Great guys as well. I highly recommend getting your cuts here. Cash only, and I recommend making an appointment. In essence it is a barbershop but in my definition they are a family to the community of Monrovia, when I say family random people that walk by they know who Casey is, and all the boys from the shop.
