We came here twice for dinner while staying at the nearby Killington resort. It was the only restaurant in the area we could find that takes reservations (Resy) and for some reason it was not as crowded as the others nearby though we thought the food and service was very good. They are known for their burgers and mac and cheese. Our small group had burgers, salads and prime rib, and all were very good--nothing fancy but hearty and satisfying. Service was good and the food came out promptly, which is what you want after a long day of mountain biking. Of the many spots on the Killington access road, Casey's always had that cozy, lived-in feel and it's nice to see the new owners left all the original charm while adding in some other tasteful additions (colored LED lights for ambiance, vintage train memorabilia, etc.). Above all else though, the food we ordered was spot on! They had no problem with me calling in a take-out order (many places on the access road only do dine-in). We ordered two burgers - a Bayley Blue (topped with blue cheese, caramelized onion, bacon jam, and smoked tomato aioi), and the "Every Day's Thanksgiving" (with ground turkey, goat cheese, and sriracha aioli). The two of us also shared a very generous side of mac & cheese, topped with nicely seasoned breadcrumbs. Our total came to just about $40, and they include fries with the burgers...a nice touch (take note, Burgrs On The Rocs!) There's kitschy stuff all over the walls and signs telling you to either watch your step or watch your head due to varying floor & ceiling levels. And always somebody seating you who's the happiest person you've encountered, regardless of the crappy weather or time of night. At Casey's Caboose he'll also be wearing a train engineers cap. Duffy, the cat in the hat, sat us and took a drink order. A perk of being in Vermont is the beer selection. Doesn't matter where you go, but many of the area's acclaimed and hard to get brews (in the Boston area that is) are on tap everywhere here - Von Trapp, Upper Pass, The Alchemist. I had a Focal Banger & the kids root beer on draught. Slick. Casey's bills itself as a gastropub and any place that sticks scallops on cheeseburgers earns the right to call itself whatever it wants. I had a Chili Dog w/ Sriracha Mayo - about the size of my arm. Just a wee salty, I nevertheless attacked it with glee and some mustard. My son went for the Mac & Cheese Burger and my daughter had the straight Mac & Cheese. If we wanted to stretch our stomachs for Thanksgiving we chose the right exercises. The burger was great. The Mac & Cheese was fine but it's rare to find one so exhilarating that a single human can consume more than a few forkfuls. The three of us did well sharing the giant burger & dog. Turns out, Duffy is also a ski instructor and he gave us some solid advice for the conditions as the rain turned back to snow. The lobster roll wasn't special, but the fish 'n' chips were amazing. Our server told us she moved from the Cape Cod area, so when she vouched for the seafood at Casey's we really took it to heart. We're so glad we did. The place itself is adorable, great curb appeal. Inside, the restaurant was decorated perfectly for Christmas. Definitely a must-visit place in Killington. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy, very authentic. I give Casey's 4/5 stars because the food was mediocre, my fiancé enjoyed the mac and cheese he got, I however did not enjoy the pan seared scallops I ordered. The scallops were tender, but the risotto was extremely bitter and the lobster chunks were chewy. For service, we had Lexi, and she was phenomenal. She heard that I didn't enjoy my food and not only did she comp the entree, but she gave us our desserts for free as well. My dog and I were turned away at another restaurant with an outdoor patio but luckily found this spot on BringFido! The hostess was so sweet and accommodating to get us through a big party and up into the outdoor seating. We had multiple friendly servers stop by to say hi to my pup. Our server was Kassandra and helping her was Marianna. Kassandra made great recommendations and I had the Mac n cheese burger.
