Another Wisconsin Casey's location that doesn't serve their famous pizza. Only cold food at this location.

Went to Tomaso's on a Friday night during the holiday season with a group of three. As expected, it…read morewas busy. The restaurant is very small, with limited bar seating and booths, and there's no real place to wait inside. Everyone waiting for a table ends up awkwardly standing close together near the entrance, which wasn't very comfortable. You have to check in at the bar, and unfortunately the bartender seemed visibly annoyed whenever groups tried to add their name to the waitlist. He rolled his eyes and came across as pretty grumpy, which was a rough first impression. I honestly considered leaving, but I was really craving pizza, so we stayed. Once we got a table, we had to go back up to the bar to place our order. We got cheesy garlic bread, a deep dish pizza with three toppings, and three sodas. The sodas were poured right away, and I carried them back to the table myself. About five minutes later, the garlic bread was ready, and I went back up to grab that too. When food is ready, they yell out your order and vaguely point in your direction while saying "front" or "back," which works but isn't exactly organized. One positive surprise was the deep dish pizza. It came out much faster than expected. Most deep dish places take 45-60 minutes, but this one was ready pretty quickly. The food itself was very good and definitely the highlight of the experience. When we finished eating, I went up to get a to-go box and pay. That's when I noticed sodas are not free refills, though they're priced at $1.25 each. We ended up paying for six sodas total (three originals plus refills), which honestly wasn't bad and came out to about the same (or even less) than unlimited soda elsewhere. Still, it would've been nice to know ahead of time. I was also unsure about the tipping situation since we did all the running around ourselves: ordering, picking up food, carrying drinks, and paying. I left a 10% tip, but it felt a bit unclear what's expected in this setup. Overall, I really enjoyed the food, especially the pizza. The experience was just dampened by the lack of a waiting area and the initially grumpy bartender (though he did seem to lighten up as the night went on). I'd come back for the food, but I hope the service and organization improve.

You know I love a good hidden gem…read more Old Germantown is just that. We were in the general area-ish doing some shopping and wanted to get some pizza for takeout some place closeby to enjoy at home while watching the Olympics (because it's in Italy--so pizza seemed like just the thing). A search on Yelp brought up this place as somewhat closeby. It was after dark when we went in search of it. We drove down a rural road past what appeared to be a driveway that led to a farm. This can't be it. We tried again. Navigation brought us to the same driveway. My husband was ready to give up. I decided to call the business. A kindly gentleman answered and said--yep! It will look like you're driving to a farm but we're here! As we got closer to the end of the drive we saw a bustling parking area. While it might be hard to find--the people have found it. And, so did we. We entered to find beer hall vibes with tons of communal seating. We asked if we could order to go which they were more than willing to accommodate. We found a couple bar stools at their bar, ordered our salads and pizza, and then enjoyed a couple of stout beers while we waited. The beers, salad, and the pizza straight from their wood fired pizza oven were all fantastic. We got one of their specialty pizzas which was a white pie that comes with ricotta (as well as mozz) mushrooms, and basil on a crust that has just the right amount of chewiness and char. Lovely! The folks working here were above-and-beyond friendly. And, one told us that they have a large outdoor patio during pleasant months. We will definitely be back during the pleasant months. And, let's be real--during the less than pleasant months as well. Get to it!

Upon driving in there is a building for the restaurant along with nice outdoor seating, and area for kids to play! We went in mid May on a sunny but cool evening. The kids loved having the sand area and toys to play with while waiting for dinner to arrive. They have a good menu, but there seemed to be a decent amount of items unavailable especially the sausages my friends wanted to try. We ended up with the spring pizza, sassy pig, a plain cheese, and then a three combo of sausages. I thought the pizza was all good, not the best I've ever had but solid. The spring pizza was my favorite. The sassy pig was very unique but good! Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of the sausages but others in my group liked them. We upgraded that to include fries and there was only a very small amount. We will definitely be back, seems like a great spot for groups!

We always get one thin crust and one thick crust. Their thick crust is unlike any other I've had (outside of the restaurants previously associated with MPC), and it is so good. The thin crust is also great, not so thin that it tastes like cardboard or falls apart: it's perfect. Over the years we've also had a variety of apps and salads, and never been disappointed. Many in my family are also very big beer drinkers, and they're always happy with the selection of craft beers. The space doesn't do much in the way of ambiance but it doesn't need to with pizza this good. Just make sure to get their early or head in late so you don't have too long of a wait

Date of visit: October 19, 2024…read more This is a favorite of our friends and neighbors, but I believe I have only ever been here one time before this visit. But given the state of the parking lot and the steady stream of customers on this Sweetest Day evening, this is a favorite of a lot of folks! The ordering setup is a bit odd, after getting a table you order at the bar and they bring the food out to you. You fetch water and beverages from the bar as well as to go containers. Despite the oddness of ordering, the food is quite good. I really liked the cheese bread, though my husband thought it was overcooked (he says that about a lot of things). We also went with the deep dish pizza and while it was good overall, the crust was lacking in any flavor. I hate letting any food (especially bread products!) go to waste and went looking for excess sauce to jazz it up a bit. I think a little garlic and butter brushed on the crust as the pie is finishing its time in the oven would be the chef's kiss!
