The owners, husband and wife pad your bill with extra drinks when you run a tab. they take advantage of the fact that you won't realize it, since your drinking, this happened twice to myself and I asked around and found out that it has happened to other customers also. I tested my suspicions out and decided to pay cash per drink. the staff then decided to ignore our table when they realized that they weren't going to make double the money off of us. they have no respect for the customers or our community. I have lived here my whole life and was a bartender for years. I recognized this and had to warn any potential customers. Try not to run a tab at this bar. Thats when they take advantage. read more

Greetings Pub Mates! A while, while back I ventured into Casey's for some relaxation and adult beverages. I was a little disappointed with my experience and I felt like I received less than respected service. Let me explain. I love my Grey Goose, soda, and orange slices. Or lime. Whatever you have. When our drinks were replaced they had the old fruit and ice remaining in the glass. I wrote to the owner, NOT Yelp to express my displeasure with this experience. He explained to me that many "seasoned " patrons actually prefer to have this experience since the fruit and ice contain your Grey Goose and enhance the next drink. Sir! You are right. I was wrong. If you're just going there to drink, this is a good bar with great specials. However, if you have food on your mind, hop on over to Buster's next door. I really do enjoy their drink specials, outside of happy hours at certain bars, they are the best drink specials around. $1 drafts Wednesday? I usually have to drive up to Wisconsin if I want that. However, everything else about Casey's is just kind of bleh. The food isn't good, the layout of the place is odd, the bar is huge but doesn't seat many people, a lot of the places to sit are near doors, and it's Illinois so 4 months out of the year it's super cold, I don't want to sit by a door. I have been a regular, and Dani knows my drink when I walk in. Here is how they lost my business moving forward, as well as the business of our entire karaoke groupchat (20+ people who regularly come out with our group). We came in, gave the bouncer our IDs, and got a 1st round of drinks; everything was going as usual. Then, one of our friends went up to get his second drink. The owner was incredibly drunk, slurring his words, and immediately asked to see his ID again. I naïvely started laughing, thinking it was funny that he was getting IDed again at the bar for his second drink. Knowing he was 23, I wasn't worried that anything would happen. Then the owner looked at both his ID and his passport, and claimed they were both fake because he "looked too young". Context: Wisconsin IDs are vertical until you are 27 unless you lose your ID, or move and get a replacement with your new address. My friend had a vertical ID, which is commonly not excepted at bars in Rockford, so I told him to bring his passport as backup just in case there were any issues. The owner decided he would play rock paper scissors with my friend to decide if he could stay. Our friend lost rock paper scissors, and the owner asked him to leave. They had already served him alcohol, this was his second drink. This means that the owner made a conscious decision to send someone who was intoxicated, that he suspected to be underage, to get behind the wheel of a car. This irresponsible behavior cannot be condoned. Luckily, he was actually of age, and nothing bad happened because of it. The owner also threatened violence towards him, we were calm, did not raise our voices with the owner, yet he threatened to beat up my friend. That may be because of his drunken state, but it is never okay to threaten someone with violence. Our group got up to leave with him. I wanted to tell the owner he should just call the police to come and verify that the IDs were real, however I knew he wouldn't call, as the way the owner was acting would've gotten him arrested for public intoxication. We started making our way to the door and paying our tabs to leave. This is where the owner got violent and assaulted one of us. Another one of my friends, ordered one drink and paid cash. He had just walked in and gotten that drink as the other group member was being asked to leave. As we all got up, he set his (untouched) drink back on the bar to leave. He had already payed cash, however the owner ran up to him, grabbed him by the shoulder and yanked him back in the bar, claiming he didn't pay his tab (he never had a tab). It is never okay to grab someone without permission, and it is assault to do it in a violent way. ADDITION AFTER OWNER COMMENT: I understand your need to verify someone's age accurately, but please do more research than a skim of a google search. Key word in your quote is the second word, "issues", meaning replacement/renewal/new IDs. Wisconsin IDs DO NOT EXPIRE on your 21st birthday, they are valid until you are 27. You have been serving ME with a vertical Wisconsin ID for over two years, and I'm 25! Picking and choosing who your policy applies to based on appearances is profiling. These are things a business with a liquor license should know, especially being less than a half hour from Wisconsin. I notice you mention nothing of your inappropriate behavior and assault, a good evasive measure to try and make sure people don't notice it in my review. Please be kinder to your patrons in the future if you truly care about protecting your business. Just because you are a bar owner does not mean that you need to be drunk at work. We would have been open to returning in the future if not for your inappropriate behavior. We are a group of regulars who have given you thousands of dollars in business, and to be treated that way was simply disrespectful and showed us how little you value your customers; to continue harassing us in the parking lot as we were trying to leave was very unprofessional. read more

I liked this bar at first, until the owner tried to fight me because I wanted to let him know the bartender at the time was extremely rude and I was leaving because of that. If he wants to make threats and act like a complete drunken a$$ whole when some one is trying to look out for him that's on him. He's lucky all together that I don't call cops or report threats of this nature. Don't support a business who treats customers like nothing. There is plenty of bars with better set ups and people all together. First couple times there I didn't think we were going to like the place because the employees seemed rude. We ate there this evening the food is good. This time we had a waitress Erica, she was so friendly with everyone there although she was busier than heck. She made everyone feel comfortable. We definitely will go back now thanks to our server. I've been here multiple times, and depending on what you like in a bar really determines on when you want to go. If you are looking for a loud bar, packed with people where you can barely move, go on a Friday and Saturday night. If you are more like me and want a place where you can sit and talk, catch a game or just have a beer, go in the afternoon. I'm not really fond of the atmosphere, it seems so impersonal. This is a big bar, with a lot of space. multiple pool tables and dart boards. I didn't take the time to explore the entire building, but there were a lot of different bar games available to customers. When you first walk in, the bar is like an Island in the front of the building, with people able to sit on every side of it. This gives a lot of bar space for people to sit, and I like that. although I'm not sure how the staff feels about having to muscle past patrons to get to the kitchen and vice verse because the kitchen has no connection to the bar. There are A LOT of TVs here. I didn't bother counting, because you couldn't turn with out looking at at least four. With this many TVs one would think that you wouldn't have to listen to patrons argue over watching NASCAR or baseball, they could have put one on one TV, and the other on another. I was there this past weekend with my wife. We were up in Loves Park and I decided to stop in as there have been a lot of rave reviews on here for the place of late. For lunch my wife just wanted their queso dip. She liked it and I tried it. It tasted like one that I make at home for football partys. A basic blend of Velveeta, canned chili, green chilis and sour cream. (I'm not saying that is their recipe, that's mine; their's just tasted like it) If you go in there and just want something to munch on, this is a good choice. I had their Italian beef and Mozzarella Flat-bread. I picked this because on the menu it was listed as one of the favorites of their regulars. I can see why. It had a good taste to it, it was slightly over cooked as it was burnt on the edges, but that can easily happen with this type of sandwich. I did have a problem with the meat, it was a little tough and dry. I generally expect my Italian beef to be juicy and tender. The service here was pretty good. The bartender was the only one in the front working. I think I saw a cook and maybe a manager floating around, but we only interacted with the Bartender. I don't want to say the service was bad, because it wasn't. That Bartender busted her hump to help everyone and was constantly running around. Bless her for trying, but there were times we would have to wait a while between drinks because she was flying everywhere.I just think that for the size of the bar and the number of patrons, they may have needed a second bartender or waitress to assist. I will say that I will never go back here at night unless I'm dragged. Not my kind of bar at night. During the day, I probably would stop in if I was in the neighborhood. The food is pretty average, but as a bar, I like Casey's. When I lived in Rockford, it was my go-to spot, since it was less than 8 minutes from my condo via side streets. This would help minimize, ummm, the skilled driving necessary to make it home after leaving Casey's. Three of us went to Casey's this week for dinner and a drink. When my husband asked our server Kelsey to give us a minute to look at the menu since we hadn't been there before, she gave us a big welcome and answered our questions about various menu items. We all had different items, and everything was very good! The Chicken Mac is very tasty, as are the shrimp skewers, and the French Fries are just the way they should be--crispy outside and soft inside. Kelsey is a great server, very friendly and knowledgeable, which we appreciated. After we had finished our drinks, she came over and said the Manager would like to buy us another round, which we thought was really nice. We will definitely be back! read more

Casey's Pub is a very nice place to go. You can play darts, pool and bag toss. They have a good size dance floor with a DJ almost every weekend. The food is good and fairly priced and they have drink specials to throughout the week. They have a loyalty card program and send coupons out through emails. The best thing about Casey's Pub is they give back to the community by helping customers set up benefits that they have on site. They supply all the food and let the organization that is putting on the benefit keep the money that is raised. read more

After Nick took over , he has continued to improve the place. I have always gotten good service. They try very hard to satisfy everyone. They have something for everyone, whether its events, music, dancing, or food. oh yea, of course the slots!!!! I like to go early and enjoy some dinner (lots of good food) and always some laughs, but if you like the younger hip crowd its hoppin at night.. I have just recently started going back to Caseys Pub. The staff and owners are very attentive to the customers wants and needs. I eat there nearly every day and have never had anything I didn't like. Aldo the cook will do whatever he can to prepare your food the way you like it. The boneless wings and Italian beef are the best in town. The bartenders and wait staff are extremely good at what they do. It is one of the cleanest bars in the area and don't seem to have much drama. I would suggest if you haven't been there try it I don't think you'll be disappointed. And if you've been there in the past and we're not happy try it again I'm sure you won't be disappointed. read more

I was there for a going away party for a group of coworkers. There was minimal cocktail service to our group in the back of the room resulting in the need to go to the front where the bar is. My beer was served to me significantly overflowing the glass leaving a huge puddle around my glass and a wet dripping glass for me to hold. I wasn't given any napkin & had to search for a handful to clean up the mess myself. They only had 2 or 3 craft beers with the main offerings being your basic domestic crap beer. I went there a couple weekends ago to watch a really good band called the Crave and they were great the entertainment was good at a lot of thought casino game start boards in the back very big place a lot to room to roam . We also had dinner there we had the mac & cheese bites appetizer my wife had a cheeseburger and fries and I had the pizza special that was on that night the food was all really good was really hot and fresh . Our bartender was a Rodney I believe and he was just awesome right on the spot every minute the drinks didn't seem outrageous it was very good time read more
