This place is a local hot spot in Newtown Square. On a weekend night there's always a crowd and they do their best to seat you. Recommended you call ahead for a reservation. The large bar is always full. We prefer to sit in the high tops or booths near the bar. My husband usually gets the prime rib and he says it's great. I vary between several items from chicken salad to chicken pot pie or potato skins. The Cobb salad (pictured) is good. The meatloaf (pictured) was not my cup of tea. I used to get the hot turkey meal (pictured) a lot but the stuffing is just too sage-y for me. Can't go wrong with the turkey club (pictured)! Expect an older crowd in general.

Meeting place with a college bestie? Perfect. Phillies play-off game on, everyone cheering, Phillies winning? Perfect. Great servers with sense of humor? Yep. Comfort tavern food--and a nice wedge salad. Of course, the cocktails, including virgin ones, perfect. Fun place. Looking forward to meeting JCP here again soon!

How much should you pay for a short beer? The food is always good. They just need to teach how to pour beer.

Great experience. As always drinks first-Cherry blossom (tequila lime triple sec grenadine) was really good and perfectly balanced. Not sure it deserves the name though just for being pink Casey's burger was super tasty, the spicy mayo was great and the long hots were not too hot and the meat was perfect. Sweet potato fries were great. French onion broth was great and overall really good. Cake was super good too.

The meatballs were tender, with the right amount of gravy. The bread was good. The fries needed another minute (in case they're reading this) BUT they were hot and fresh out of a clean fryer. The service was as friendly as you'd want and there was a nice assembly of local folks around the bar and few tables to make it feel like home. We used to frequent the DH location frequently but it has come to my understanding that those folkssold some time ago. If so, that might explain what has happened here because it's not even close. It is a dive bar, just like the old Drexel Ale House but in the worst way. It's dirty, dingy and dilapidated inside. When we arrived, there were three women smoking just outside so we entered only to be greeted by a patron who directed us to a table in the back for "the path of least resistance,"whatever that means. We sat a booth near the front only to learn that one of the three women out front (none of whom greeted us) was the barmaid and waitress. After what took forever after she came in, we got a menu and ordered the roast beef sandwich. If you add anything it's extra - cheese $2 or $3, long hots and broccoli rabe also a few buck extra, so your sandwich can easily approach and pass the $20 mark. They came with small plastic cup of jus and a bit of horseradish. The sandwich itself was very generous but unevenly cut with thick and thin slices and not super tender. I stopped to use the ladies' room before leaving. It is not handicapped accessible in any way shape or form. Newtown Square is asleep or just let these guys get away with it.

Perfect for the evening. It took a few minutes for the server to get to us, which wasn't terribly surprising with it being a busy holiday. By the time he got to us, we were ready to order, so we got those placed quickly. We started with the Italian egg rolls. They were very yummy, but the Calabrian chili sauce stole the show here. We would have loved a side cup of it for dipping. Still a solid appetizer. For entrees, I had the gnocchi, one of my favorite pasta dishes. It did not disappoint! The sauce was a great consistency, and the gnocchi were cooked to perfection. I wasn't used to the portion size though. I ended up taking home enough for probably another two meals. Great value here. The angel hair with crab was also a sizable meal. And for dessert, tiramisu finished off the evening. Yet another large portion and great for someone with a sweet tooth like me. I'd probably try a different dessert on another visit, but I was quite happy with it. All and all, a great outing that I'd be happy to repeat.

They also had a game viewing area in the back. But though out the place there were several TVs that had the game on. The menu had plenty of popular American style dishes.
