When the restaurant is full, parking can take a while. The 4 of us (one child) were warmly greeted and promptly seated. Took a little while to get our beverages and hear the specials. The wait staff member was friendly, attentive and helpful. Two of us split a really large and tasty house salad. For mains, we tried the lobster ravioli (really good), veal chop (very tasty) and the sea bass special (delicious). The child had the meatball (huge) and spaghetti and they enjoyed it thoroughly We also shared a very reasonably priced Malbec that was pretty smooth.

The service was good, but the food did not meet our expectations. While we enjoy Italian cuisine, the dishes offered here were not to our liking. The pasta was satisfactory, but not noteworthy. The appetizers were also unremarkable. As a result, we felt the food did not justify the price.

La Locanda chicken panini with side of zucchini chips.

It was 3 friends for lunch today. Two had burgers and I had the La locanda chicken panini. Came with side of zucchini chips or fries. I chose the zucchini. Yummy. Our waiter was fabulous. It was not crowded on a Monday. Great place! Recommended!

What an experience! We came on a Friday afternoon and spent several hours here just enjoying company and the atmosphere. Our service was fantastic! The waitress was very attentive and even noticed we accidentally had the wrong menus. She brought out the dinner menus for us that had several other selections as well as specials for the night. She made sure our wine was always refilled! There were many menu choices! We ordered lots of appetizers, including mussels, oysters, and fried calamari. So fresh, YUM! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. For the mains, we ordered Fettuccine Bolognese, Orecchiette, Swordfish, and the Gloria. All came out piping hot and delicious. The dessert menu is also fanatic! Lot of food choices and drink choices! We ordered the cheesecake and cannolis. The cannolis were indescribable. I can't wait to come back for those! I loved this spot so much! And it's been around for years. Highly recommend!

We come here every year when we come to Philadelphia. Their prime rib is the best around. My mom and I loved this place. She passed due to the effects of Covid, but I keep our little traditions going. The service is always the greatest here. They always took great care of mom and I and now just me. The ambiance here is so nice. It gives you that little Italian restaurant vibe, but the food here is bar none the best. We would always get the Prime Rib and a Crème brûlée. I was disappointed this time with the Crème brûlée and the Prime Rib. The Crème brûlée was cold and the Prime Rib was tough and fatty. With that being said, I still will be back again next year.

This place was packed on a Friday night so thankful we made a reservation. Large place with a lot of tables and booths. Still decorated for Christmas. The French onion soup was a little salty. Those who got the snapper soup loved it but hands down the creole soup was the best. It was so good we took a quart home for the weekend. Nothing like a good bowl of hot soup on a cold winter day. Overall everyone enjoyed their meal. The shrimp were lightly breaded and cooked perfectly. The crab cake was a little on the small side. The Nashville chicken was hot and spicy just the way you would except it to be. The scallops I'm told were also good. The peach cobbler was fair. The crust was too heavy, too dense and in my opinion just too much of it. The chocolate lava brownie tasty.

We used to frequent the DH location frequently but it has come to my understanding that those folkssold some time ago. If so, that might explain what has happened here because it's not even close. It is a dive bar, just like the old Drexel Ale House but in the worst way. It's dirty, dingy and dilapidated inside. When we arrived, there were three women smoking just outside so we entered only to be greeted by a patron who directed us to a table in the back for "the path of least resistance,"whatever that means. We sat a booth near the front only to learn that one of the three women out front (none of whom greeted us) was the barmaid and waitress. After what took forever after she came in, we got a menu and ordered the roast beef sandwich. If you add anything it's extra - cheese $2 or $3, long hots and broccoli rabe also a few buck extra, so your sandwich can easily approach and pass the $20 mark. They came with small plastic cup of jus and a bit of horseradish. The sandwich itself was very generous but unevenly cut with thick and thin slices and not super tender. I stopped to use the ladies' room before leaving. It is not handicapped accessible in any way shape or form. Newtown Square is asleep or just let these guys get away with it.

Wouldn't go as far to call it a Dive Bar but portrayed a small, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Food prices slightly high for the quality but the service was great and the beer was cold. Seemed like a great place to watch a game or meet some friends. Plenty of parking. I wouldn't go out of my way to do so but plan to stop again soon.
