This is definitely a lively neighborhood restaurant. We were there on Tuesday night at 5:20pm and it was hopping. There are booths as well as high tops in the bar area. There are several TVs playing sports. Claire D took care of us. She was friendly and helpful. There are many great options on the menu. It was such a cold night that we went with comfort foods. We tried the triple smoked bacon wrapped meatloaf and the broiled jumbo lump crab cake. Everything was delicious. They have Coke products. There's a large parking lot in the shopping center where Casey's is located. We look forward to dining at Casey's again in the future. read more

Hands down Noelle our server was amazing. She was friendly, efficient, clearly loved her job, had a fabulous attitude, helpful going over the menu and making suggestions. This place was packed on a Friday night so thankful we made a reservation. Large place with a lot of tables and booths. Still decorated for Christmas. The French onion soup was a little salty. Those who got the snapper soup loved it but hands down the creole soup was the best. It was so good we took a quart home for the weekend. Nothing like a good bowl of hot soup on a cold winter day. Overall everyone enjoyed their meal. The shrimp were lightly breaded and cooked perfectly. The crab cake was a little on the small side. The Nashville chicken was hot and spicy just the way you would except it to be. The scallops I'm told were also good. The peach cobbler was fair. Dined with two girlfriends last night. Burgers were so good as was the hummus app. The server was great. The negative was that the bus person came by numerous times to pick up stuff reaching over us even though we weren't done. Literally had to hold on to our coffee cups. When we were getting our things together to leave this bus person came over to us, pounded on the table with his finger and with anger said-- you leave, This table reserved. -- There were other tables available, plus no one was waiting at the door. Now grant it we may have lost track of time gabbing and stayed longer than we should have. We are 3 senior citizens and have never been treated this poorly. There are nicer ways to ask diners to leave. We will go back but ask not to be seated at his station. Giving 3 stars only because of busboy. Otherwise it would be 5 star. read more

I ordered a pasta dish off the specials board and it was very disappointing. I didn't eat it and should not have paid for it. Very salty! The hostess is very rude and was also quite disrespectful to my party. The roast beef was well done and very dry!!! For those three reasons, I don't think I could ever go back and give this place another try. read more

This place is a local hot spot in Newtown Square. On a weekend night there's always a crowd and they do their best to seat you. Recommended you call ahead for a reservation. The large bar is always full. We prefer to sit in the high tops or booths near the bar. My husband usually gets the prime rib and he says it's great. I vary between several items from chicken salad to chicken pot pie or potato skins. The Cobb salad (pictured) is good. The meatloaf (pictured) was not my cup of tea. I used to get the hot turkey meal (pictured) a lot but the stuffing is just too sage-y for me. Can't go wrong with the turkey club (pictured)! Expect an older crowd in general. read more

This place definitely seemed popular, lots of people around the bar, around the outside tables, and inside. Perhaps some enjoy the local sense of consistency and old styling, it just felt older to me. Definitely a place to take grandma for the liver and onions specials. The service was a bit overly slow for us, we were tired and just wanted to try a good meal and get out and ended up sitting and getting more tired way longer than we wanted. And the service ware was not what I expected for high priced entrees- plastic Pizza Hut cups and mismatched stainless is completely serviceable if I am just getting pizza and salad. The food itself was exactly as the menu says, no more and no less. Fresh, hot, nothing to call you back unless that's just a good area you want to hang out with family or friends awhile, and that's all fine. read more

Last time I was here a few years back I quite frankly wasn't impressed but was back Saturday night and have to say that the ambiance had a nice pub feel and while I can only speak to the burger, fries, wings and beer, they were all VG - probably not 4 star but defiantly worth way more than 3. Great experience. As always drinks first-Cherry blossom (tequila lime triple sec grenadine) was really good and perfectly balanced. Not sure it deserves the name though just for being pink Casey's burger was super tasty, the spicy mayo was great and the long hots were not too hot and the meat was perfect. The food is okay. Nothing special. Bartenders are not very attentive. Sat empty for twenty minutes while bartender lady talks to regulars for over half hour. She said she would grab me one and got distracted doing something else. Not the bar I would want to be at. Other and better places around. Place seems to be known for regulars other than irregulars such as myself who likes to come in every other week. Would be okay not going back. Parking was also very tough and congestion in that small lot out front. read more

Went here after my mother-in-law's big move so she (and we) could relax. There were four of us. Artichoke dip was fine. Chicken salad with fried oysters was outstanding as was our Reuben sandwich. The interior had a nice feel. It was a bar on one side and sit down tables on the other with a glass partition between. The service was efficient and friendly. The food was also pretty solid. We had a turkey burger with fries and a prime rib. We also ordered house salads and an order of onion rings. Everything was cooked properly and tasted good. Been here a handful of times and it's just okay. Had lunch today and two of us had soups- snapper and French onion. The snapper was not hot and the French onion was lacking onions. Ordered coconut shrimp and potato skins. Enjoyed the shrimp but thought the potato skins lacked bacon. We ordered expresso martinis which were good. Casey's is an institution in this part of the western burbs. Of course that doesn't mean it's a great restaurant but is an OK restaurant. The atmosphere is dark with lots of booths. There is a medium sized horseshoe bar that also has three booths in the bar area. There are TVs around the bar but they are nothing special. This is not the best place to watch a game. Speaking of the bar; it can get busy. It draws a mixed crowd that is older than most. They do free appetizers on slow weekdays to hopefully entice you to stay awhile. The beers are a selection of mostly domestics. The drinks are well made and priced normally for the area. I've used this bar to meet business associates in the area several times and it's worked well. The wife and I have eaten dinner here several times over several years. We have never had a bad meal, usually had an OK meal, and occasionally had a great meal. I have had amazing blackened prime rib and the wife has enjoyed excellent broiled scallops. The vegetable sides are usually pedestrian at best. The wait staff has been OK but certainly nothing special. Casey's has recently begun to open for breakfast seven days a week. I haven't has a chance to try it yet but the menu on their website looks good. read more

Was craving a salad and decided on the Cobb salad. Well it has a nice display but I've never had a Cobb Salad with red peppers and olives. I decided not to get the olives. These salad was just OK. Mostly lettuce. Definitely not enough chicken or egg, for the amount of lettuce in this bowl. The tomatoes could have been fresher also. Dined on Jan 7 - admittedly, the place was mobbed - but the service was HORRENDOUS and the food has definitely taken a dive as well!! For starters, I had the snapper soup - which was delivered tepid and watered down. My companions opted to split a salad, which was delivered at least 10 minutes AFTER I had finished my soup. For entrees, they each ordered the crab cake entree - where the crab is the size of a meatball. I chose the liver/onions, another disappointment. Previously, the entree included 3 nice-sized pieces of liver - now they are the size of chicken fingers. Also, with regard to the table bread -- Wawa uses larger half loaves in their sandwiches!!! Then, finally, to add insult to injury - the bus boy charged in to clear the table while we still were sitting there! Will definitely think twice before going there again! read more

Very upset with the service last night. I usually love Casey's and recommend it to anyone, but tonight changed my mind. My friends and I were ignored by the waitress and she was extremely dismissive and rude to my friend. She was waiting on everyone else pretty precisely, but for whatever reason she chose to ignore us and be rude. I guess you need to be a regular to get service here? Her facial expressions and tone of voice were very off putting and we cut our dinner short because of that. Kind people are my kind of people so I won't be back here. Maybe she was under the impression that I was young and wouldn't tip, but I've been in the service industry since high school; I know a thing or two about tipping. Management, you need to have a conversation with your servers about how to treat customers. I understand that there have been regulars who have been coming here for years and get preferential treatment, but that's no reason to mistreat other guests. read more

Perhaps the worst meal ever! Poor service and very low quality food products made the evening go downwards. Cannot figure how this place is so crowded but with the soon to arrive Capital Grille, there remains hope for Newtown Square dining and nightlife. The beef advertised as Prime Rib is a very far cry from Prime Rib. Tasteless, tough. That was $38. thrown away. The salad is thrown together and a poor display. Service? Basically non existent.
