This place is a local hot spot in Newtown Square. On a weekend night there's always a crowd and they do their best to seat you. Recommended you call ahead for a reservation. The large bar is always full. We prefer to sit in the high tops or booths near the bar. My husband usually gets the prime rib and he says it's great. I vary between several items from chicken salad to chicken pot pie or potato skins. The Cobb salad (pictured) is good. The meatloaf (pictured) was not my cup of tea. I used to get the hot turkey meal (pictured) a lot but the stuffing is just too sage-y for me. Can't go wrong with the turkey club (pictured)! Expect an older crowd in general.

Meeting place with a college bestie? Perfect. Phillies play-off game on, everyone cheering, Phillies winning? Perfect. Great servers with sense of humor? Yep. Comfort tavern food--and a nice wedge salad. Of course, the cocktails, including virgin ones, perfect. Fun place. Looking forward to meeting JCP here again soon!

How much should you pay for a short beer? The food is always good. They just need to teach how to pour beer.

Great experience. As always drinks first-Cherry blossom (tequila lime triple sec grenadine) was really good and perfectly balanced. Not sure it deserves the name though just for being pink Casey's burger was super tasty, the spicy mayo was great and the long hots were not too hot and the meat was perfect. Sweet potato fries were great. French onion broth was great and overall really good. Cake was super good too.

Bad food. Everything cold. They took the liver and onions dish away. Terrible dinner out and will never be back again.

They also have HH on Saturdays! Nice perk. What we snagged: -Brussels (Very good. Crispy and well cooked bacon) -Mussels in a white wine sauce. VERY flavorful. We were about 1/3 of the way done and found and long black hair. Not great, but manger came right over and apologized. Took it off the bill and offered for another. We were good with just taking it off the bill. -Black Cod. Best dish of the night. Had a noddle crispy dish on the side. Fish was cooked perfectly. -Lobster Ravioli. Good, but nothing crazy. Snagged a few drinks: Baklava Old Fashion and Espresso Martini. Both amazing. Very well done. Overall, we'd come back for a HH or a quick dinner. Raven was a great server and focused on us all evening. Even before the hair LOL.

The sea bass and burger had rave reviews. The lobster crawfish dish and brussel sprouts were pretty standar fair. Will likely not order the beet salad next time. The kitchen is made from scratch so orders for apps and dinner were taken upfront. Service could be better. Why did she have to be so miserable when she could have had sweet, ol' lovable me forever. Anyway, nothing has changed other than the menu. The interior still had warm paintings of cute doggos all around, and the service at the bar was spectacular. Peter, I believe was his name, was so courteous, calm, respectful and nothing was a problem, he just took care of things. The starters of Tuna Tartar and the Arugula Beet Salad were fabulous, so full of mixed flavors, pleasing to all senses. For entrees my friend had the Blackened Shrimp ABLT salad, so decadent, so rich in flavors and content. I had the leftovers the next day, it was still fabulous. I had the Lamb Bolognese. A creamy thick bolognese but not heavy...if that makes any sense. For dessert the pineapple upside cake ala mode to die for! Great choice. My frequent visits in the area are Rosalie's and Estia. And now put White Dog back on that list. It's time to become a regular again in that rotation.

The service was very good: attentive and friendly. The ambiance is similar to Not Your Average Joe's in Ardmore with the upstairs/balcony seating and downstairs and big screen TV showing sports, but much noisier, especially as the upstairs also was filled with guests. By the time we left at 7:45pm after a 6:45pm reservation, it was loud enough that we had to fairly shout at each other to continue our conversation. The food was okay, except the salad which was excellent, but not worth returning for just the salad. - beet salad - 4.5/5, plentiful small diced red and yellow beets, avocado, arugula, a light dressing and burrato with crushed pistachios. a very solid starter salad and the server kindly split a large order into two small plates for us to share - fried calamari - 3/5, having just eaten at Estia last night which has a very good fried calamari, this one was not breaded as consistently and some of the pieces were a tad on the large side for a reasonable bite and too chewy to be cut with the fork or knife. - penne puttanesca - 3/5, my husband ordered this and while he not a self-proclaimed foodie, for him to say it was just okay means it was really just okay - linguine vongole - 3/5, points for the very plentiful offering of clams, i counted probably 20 generously sized clams (sometimes you get miniscule clams with this dish), but overall the sauce was too salty and there's not much you can do to fix that, and the linguine was a bit overcooked, definitely not even close to al dente We skipped dessert as by that point our ears were starting to ring with the high decibels coming from around us on the balcony and the floor below. It looked like a lot of people were having a good time so maybe it's just not for us.
