This visit was... okay. Our server was really odd & slurring her words that my partner & I couldn't help but giggle but she seemed perfectly functional just anxious & really rushing us. The food came out fine, I swear when I had came the first 2 visits my steak & eggs were amazing... idk what's changed but now the food is bland & just hungry to want to eat it all. Came here for breakfast during the week last time I was in Louisville. It was so busy, but it was also a weekend. When I went, it wasn't busy so that was a plus. A friend of mine and I recently went here for breakfast. We both were pleased with our experience. I ordered the Redneck Benny and chose the option of the sausage gravy; the dish was delicious and large, I took half of it home. Juice I ordered didn't taste good, fortunately I was comped for it when I said so. It was pineapple juice that was not listed on the menu so maybe it was old. The ambiance and space was good, and we received our food in a timely fashion. Our server was super friendly and explained the menu very well. I really appreciated that. The only small problem was that my Biscuit Sandwich didn't come out until my family almost finished their food. When I told them at the checkout, they checked right away and brought the sandwich, and also removed it from the bill. I thought that was very nice and professional. Really fabulous breakfast with so many options it was hard to decide what to eat. Also, we went around 10:30 AM and could have had lunch items too! Wow, I was impressed. Not too busy that we had to wait, we had a booth fairly quickly. Service was spot on, our waitperson, Ashleigh, was super cool and friendly. I had The Screamin Demon, which is a fried chicken sandwich, it was really good. Perfect amount of spice, not hot at all in my opinion. My husband had the Big Bad Hot Brown because it's a local thing to order and he really liked it. Lots of food. Our friend had the Creole Omlette and she said it was really good. We visited BBB on a Saturday morning and the place was hopping! We were quickly seated and I asked the waitress for some recommendations. She highlighted some of the popular menu items, and, in the end, we placed an order for one breakfast burrito and three breakfast platters. Our food arrived pretty quickly. I was so looking forward to some sausage gravy and theirs was pretty good, although I would have loved for it to have been served a little hotter. My eggs, sausage, and potato cakes were all very good and my dining companions also enjoyed their meals. My husband, who judges his breakfast by how good the bacon is, was very pleased. The only drawback was that it was a bit loud inside, but I guess anytime you have that many people in one room it gets a little loud. All in all, we had a great experience and would recommend BBB to others looking for a good place for brunch. read more

BBB has a 2 sided menu that is loaded with so many items, it almost took me forever to decide. I chose to order the Big Bad Skillet, Three eggs, scrambled, Big Bad bacon, Big Bad sausage, ham, onions, potatoes and cheddar cheese. Served with toast or biscuit. You can have them make any changes to it that you'd like. I had them cut the onions and put the ground sausage on the side and gave it to my husband, that loves sausage. He chose a Belgian Waffle that came with Whipped Cream, Strawberries & Blueberries. He also chose 3 Strips of Mild Bacon. We didn't have a very long wait. Nicole had also told me that my meal came with a side, a biscuit, wheat toast and white toast. She talked me into the big biscuit. It came with whipped butter and my choice of jellies. I chose peach! The biscuit was BIG, and it was called a Pepper Biscuit. I'm not a fan of pepper, but the BBB's pepper Biscuit was really good. We had a delicious time! Our server, Nicole was great. Our first brunch at the new location of BBB. Welcome to Middletown! I used Yelp to get on the waiting list and at 12:30p there wasn't an issue to walk in without it. I appreciated being seated at a booth per my waiting list request. My teen got the chicken and waffles - delicious! They have a bit of a kick to them so keep your water glass filled. The sausage biscuits and gravy was perfect and not spicy. I added an egg and split this with my teen, while also ordering an egg and biscuit sandwich. It comes with cheese. My bacon was $3.50 which wasn't worth the up charge. Coffee is basic and worth it when you need the kick. Our only issue with today's experience was the service and it was specific to our server. She went MIA after taking our order. Thankfully other team members filled in for her with delivering our food and bringing us more coffee and water (although I had to walk up to the bar for help). I watched all of her tables looking for her to request service, from paying their bill to getting other items and drinks. It was disappointing to leave a gratuity for her rather than another server. Several tables inside. If you visited Zeggz in the past, it's the same layout but fun artwork. Where do I get a copy of Mona Lisa drinking her coffee?! We will be back and I'm confident with another server it'll be a 5-star hotel experience. So Big Bad Breakfast was a mixed bag. I had the Vietnamese coffee, breakfast platter with eggs over medium, spicy bacon, a biscuit, and a side of sausage gravy. Let's start with what was good. The biscuit was delicious. Would recommend. Side of strawberry and blackberry jams. Yum. The sign in the bathroom for a 5 star deuce, funny but doesn't match the restraint vibes. Sitting at the Bar our server Emily worked her butt off. She was doing 5x the job of everyone else and still managed to make sure we had personalized service. Now to what could improve: The restaurant needs to do something to make the working experience of their staff particularly behind the bar better. The counters are way too high and makes the workers have to work constantly with their arms raised to make drink or serve. There are not pads or anything to ease the stress of someone who will be in their feet constantly. An ergonomic nightmare. They need to invest in raising the area on a platform or something to make the job easier. At minimum invest in some working pads. Viet Coffee was was overly sweet and poured from a large premade batch. Simple enough to make each of those individually. Eggs cooked closer to over easy but that's fairly common mistake. The bacon was hot but so crispy it's like it was cooked a long time ago and kept under a warmer. Consistency was that of very crunchy dry bacon bits. No real spiciness to speak of. The gravy was just missing something, maybe more pepper, I don't know. It didn't hit. read more

The pancake was supposed to be blueberry but server brought out blueberry jam, since they didn't have blueberries. We asked to speak to a manager, paid bill and left. She tried to give us the $ back but he told her to give it to the server, she didn't deserve not to get it. I had two very different experiences here within just a few days. On Thursday, I took my mom for breakfast, and everything was wonderful. The service was friendly and attentive, and our food was fresh and delicious. Based on that visit, I couldn't wait to come back. Unfortunately, when I returned on Saturday for an early afternoon brunch with my dad, it was a completely different experience. The music was so loud that it made it difficult to have a conversation. Our breakfast skillet arrived with a pool of water in the bottom, which I assume came from the vegetables. It made the entire dish soggy and unappetizing. The service also took a noticeable turn for the worse. The waitress returned shortly after we got our food, but that was it. She never came back to refill waters or coffees. The restaurant was staffed by what appeared to be mostly younger employees, and although the restaurant still had about an hour before closing, it felt like they were already shutting down. Tables weren't being cleared, and the lack of attentiveness was obvious. In fact, the family seated next to us waited so long without anyone acknowledging them that they eventually got up and left. It's disappointing because my first visit showed how good this restaurant can be. I hope management addresses the inconsistencies in both the kitchen and the service, because the potential is definitely there. read more

Killer breakfast in Saturday morning at Big Bad Breakfast! Sydney served us with a smile and perfect amount of attention! It was our first time here. The biscuits and gravy by are amazing! The gravy was thick and flavorful but not so thick you had to chew on it. The breakfast wrap that I got gangster style was good. It had an interesting flavor to it that I couldn't quite pick out that isn't my taste so I probably won't have that again, but it wasn't a bad wrap/burrito at all . My friend had the creole omelette and loved it and the breakfast potatoes that it came with it were delicious because I grabbed a fork to stick a couple bites in my mouth. First of all, let me say that the food and service were great. That being said, one thing about my experience stuck in my craw. I don't think I'm being picky either. I ordered breakfast and, according to the server, it included "two pieces" of toast. Technically, that was true, but it was one slice of bread cut into two pieces! To me, that's incredibly cheap of BBB. I think I'm accurate in saying that, traditionally, an order of toast is two slices. At least that's my experience. If they cut a slice of toast twice, they could call it "four pieces," or cut each of those pieces twice and they could say they were serving "sixteen pieces." Of course, that would be ridiculous, and that's my point. If you buy bread in the store, the average price of a slice is 15 cents. I'm sure a restaurant like this pays even less.
