The bed was comfortable--not super hard like some places, and the bathroom had more space than a lot of hotel bathrooms do. However there were a few not so hot things as well We got a room on the quiet floor, and there happened to be a venue right outside which was hosting (what seemed to be) a concert. They blasted music from around 9pm-11pm, and the room was genuinely vibrating. I have noise sensitivity and got a throbbing headache as well, which sucked. Obviously the hotel can't just cancel the concert, but it would've been nice to get a "hey just so you know there will be a loud concert tonight on these days" because we had to get up early the following day and just finished a 6+ hour car ride. The interior walls of the first floor are constructed of hand-finished wood panels, the original floors are maple, and details such as beveled mirrors and an emerald green tiled fireplace lend a formal and elegant air to the surroundings. Upstairs, the Ballroom was used in the old days for special social events, especially during the '30's and '40's. That is where our event was held and it was a really roomy space. Loved the well kept hardwood floors and the plaster friezes and frescoes of cherubs and musical instruments that adorn the 20-foot ceilings. This grand room, with its birch floors, is painted in warm, rosy tones to evoke a sense of well being, a priority during the "Gay Nineties". At night, it is nicely lit up.

We fell in love with her, the house, everything including the murder-by-mail story behind the house from the 1800s. About 2 weeks before the party we called Kaitlyn and told her it was going to turn into our surprise wedding! She continued to be so helpful and excited, giving recommendations for all kinds of vendors we'd need. The day of the party she was professional and hands-on, making sure everything got done on a quick timeline. She calmed nerves and had great suggestions on where things should go to make sure everything flowed just right. Our rental price included some tables and linens she had available, and some glassware too. It was so perfect from the start and we couldn't be happier!!

Beautiful historic building who's tour guides added in a true life murder mystery of the lady of the houses death. This really added to the event as it was so my scene and absolutely fun. They also had a whiskey tasting since she was poisoned with whiskey which is ironically amazing. I would def host an event here because unlike the Newport mansions I could touch things and see things in the midst of being historically preserved since they're still restoring the house. The only thing it had going for it was, it was the only bathroom out of the three that the floor tiles weren't all broken. The lovely room that we had to settle on, because it was 11 o'clock at night, may have been worse than the first two. It came with not one, but two mouse traps. The floors were filthy and disgusting clearly again not vacuumed. The floors were so bad. I had to wash my feet in the morning before I put my socks on. You could visibly see the dirt discolor the water in the bathtub when I did so. The surfaces had not been fully wiped. There were foot-long black hairs all over the bathroom floor clearly not mine since I have a very short haircut. I'll have to come back to finish this

Water builds up in the tub and doesn't drain properly. You lose water pressure if the shower is over 5 minutes. Toilet doesn't flush very well. Handicap bar cover wasn't attached properly. Solid breakfast in the morning. Very nice front desk. Overall lobby and eating area was well taken care of. Price was expensive because it was memorial day weekend. Kind of to be expected though.

He thought his was under seasoned. I liked that the bananas were cooked into the pancakes rather than sliced and put on top. Their flavored coffee was waffle cone which I thought was good but have come to determine that I'm just not a flavored coffee gal. Our server was amazing. It was obvious that she has been there a while - she was an absolute natural but I didn't catch her name. I think the place is named appropriately as it's small! The booths were "cozy" for sure and it felt like 85 degrees inside. Actually that's the outside temp and when we walked outside it actually felt cooler lol! It was $43 for two of us. Definitely on the pricier side for breakfast but I've got a pic of the breakfast menu so you can decide for yourself.
