Salesman are great. But service lacks. When you buy a used vehicle you expect all the fluids to have been checked. At my first service at an outside service center transmission fluid was checked and was not even on the stick the following day or two I had my appointment at caskinettes for a recall and they refused to check it for me without having me pay for service to have them check it and add transmission fluid even though it was purchased from them a few months earlier and still under bumper to bumper warranty. . Service department stated they DO NOT ! Check all fluids when a used vehicle is sold. I am a 40 year mechanic and NYS motor vehicle inspector groups 1 and 2 and evidently service is not job 1 in there facility. read more

Charged over $1,000 to fill transmission fluid!!! Soldiers should avoid this place at all cost! They will find every trick in the book to make your visit there as expensive as possible! I took my car once, asked them fix the heat, check an engine light, and that I heard a slight noise from transmission. The only work they did was fill the transmission fluid and loosen a heater hose and charged me over $1,000! May 2016 I was watching a vehicle on Caskinette Ford's website for about a month. I went down one Friday on a whim to look at the vehicle and was promptly met (as usual) by a used vehicle salesman named Jeff. Jeff was very friendly and listened intently as I told him about myself and what I was looking for. After a few minutes of looking over the truck and exchanging our knowledge of it we went inside to begin the test drive process. During the ride we talked more about the vehicle and my needs. After returning to the dealership he noted my concerns. I completed the application that day. The finance person was away at the time so, being in no hurry, I left and awaited the call back. I received the call on Tuesday morning and set a time to return to complete the paperwork and take delivery of the truck. When I arrived the truck had just finished the cleaning and I was met by Jeff outside. When I entered all the paperwork was prepared. Every document was explained to me in detail. There were no concerns or changes that needed to be made. I was in and out with the keys in just over an hour. I was very impressed with the effort and attention I received from the employees at Caskinette Ford. This was by far the best vehicle buying experience I have ever had. I was told to give a accouple of weeks. I gave a couple of months there was no improvement. I took my car to Motorhead in Watertown and paid additional about 100 dollars to get it fixed. Service Department: Excellent/outstanding service. The work done on my truck (2500 Ram Laramie -Crew Cab-8 ft. bed) was perfect. Note: I've also taken in my GT Convertible Mustang and would give them five stars for this vehicle as well. This department goes above and beyond from start to finish. The leadership, customer service (Morgan), and "the service member team" is the best by far in the area. Professional, friendly, constant updates, excellent communication, and very knowledgeable. Who knew the Ford Flex would be so hard to find. We drove 1.5hrs to Caskinette Ford to check out the multiple Flex's they had on the lot and we drove home in one! No high pressure sales and our salesman Brad Tabolt was very pleasant and was very efficient. Had my wife's car, Ford Explorer, scheduled for repair at 2 pm on a Friday. Told the RUDE service lady the transmission was jumping when put in reverse, and had a front end noise when turning. Late in the day for this type of service I thought. I had known of common cause to be a sticking or faulty solenoid for transmission for this vehicle, and possible wheel bearing for the other problem. They didn't want my information. Their diagnosis recommend new transmission $5989.00 and brake work $915.44 and possible LF wheel bearing, no quote. Then Service person says take the car. $106.92 for Diagnostics. Next day local brake shop fixed the wheel bearing, Inspected the car and the brakes were FINE, also no serious transmission problem. In my opinion their service is a rip-off, with rude service workers. Bought the car there but will NOT EVER go there again. read more

Very disappointed with this dealership. They lied to me on the phone about a rebate just to get me in the dealership. I was upside on my trade and was hoping to get that covered by the rebates. Over the phone I was told they could definitely help me and the rebates will cover almost over it. I went to the dealership the next day and the salesman had no idea what was going on. He had me test drive a car that would never work for my situation. He then wanted me to buy the car and kept going on and on about it knowing very well the deal would never work. To me, this is not a very honest dealership. I understand they want to make money, but I just wish they were honest with me from the beginning. I hate the fact they wasted my time. I've been a longtime customer, I recommend Caskinette Ford all the time, I have referred people to this dealer numerous times. My parents as well are longtime customers with many many new vehicles purchased through Caskinettes. My recent visit I was disgusted, mind you I drive 80miles to this dealership for oil changes, to browse new vehicles. I needed a tire rotation, I paid for that to be done. I walk out to my car, and I notice that was not done... they said to me "how do you know?" like good try but I know, not to mention the different colored caps on some of my tires is a good indication. last visit they told me I needed new tires, this visit miraculously they are perfectly fine. I referred a friend who also had troubles with the auto mechanic side. My other friend I referred bought a brand new F150 in June, and decided he wanted to get a new power stroke and emailed his sales guy, and they never got back to him. (now I feel like an idiot for referring him, yeah his first time was great, but now the second time he is trying to come back not so much) he ended up buying his new diesel truck in Syracuse, mind you he is from Massena, NY. Syracuse is 2 1/2 hrs away and Carthage is only 1 1/2 hrs away. I also thought about buying a new vehicle myself, and my typical sales guy Jeff Spellicy is always busy so I went through one other guy who didn't return emails and a girl who did not know anything about vehicles. Awful waste of two trips for trying to get a new escape. Now, I purchased mine there brand new, and I am going to be trading it in somewhere else now. Mind you, I DO recommend Jeff Spellicy, he is great and awesome, sold me a few vehicles, and my parents many vehicles. The rest of the sales crew not so much, including Chuck the guy behind all the sales. Service, Liz and Jameson are great and that is about it there. Jenna Sheehan and Jess Casskinette do not answer emails, very unprofessional. I really liked this dealership, have been going the extra mile to travel to them and sending so many people there. It is sad that I will be hunting for a new dealership due to the recent issues. Again, Jeff Spellicy, Liz(service) and Jameson Caskinette are fantastic. The rest of the team, not so much. If I were to go back, it would be primarily because of these three. I hope I can eventually delete this review and go back to giving them a 5 STAR and recommending this dealership. I recently purchased a car from this establishment. The salesman Derek Howland was great! However there was a problem with the hood latch and the service manager was a total nightmare! He first came on the phone talking about a windshield wipers pump being defective. I asked how he would know that because the hood latch was broken and the hood would not open? Then he back peddled. I had just purchased this vehicle 2 days prior. He went on to say that the vehicle was inspected before I left the lot, and had the latch been broken I would have not taken it off the lot. I was given no documentation to support this. Now he's blaming me!! Now he's raising his voice to me! He was rude, condescending and not willing to help. He should NOT be in that position! Our family has been purchasing vehicles for this establishment for years with no complaints. I work on Ft. Drum and have recommended them to soldiers and civilians alike. However after the way that I was treated by this service manager I am not certain that I would recommend that anyone purchase a vehicle from them, service is a big part of the sale for me. read more

The diagnosis was tricky due to a wiring fault. I was charged a diagnostic fee, labor and parts. Didn't make it 15 miles down the road before the exact same fault occurred. After a phone conversation with the agent, I was told to bring it back when able and there would not be another diagnostic fee. However there was nothing they could do about the labor and parts that were unnecessarily replaced. I used the drop box that night and waited patiently until close of business the next day. No phone call, so I called to see what the new diagnosis was. You guessed it, hadn't even started yet. The service agent was apologetic but the damage was done. He went on to tell me it was an electrical fault that was basically exploratory and could not give me a quote for the repair. I told him to put the car back together, I would be there to pick it up that day. About 30 minutes went by and the manager called. In the end, Ford picked up the entire bill and covered it under warranty. The story ends well and if there was not a wrong diagnosis accompanied with unnecessary charges, they would have 5 stars. It should not take three separate upsetting conversations to get the help you deserve. I am a diehard loyal Ford owner and expect the same from a company that I have trusted for 25 years. I appreciate the effort to make it right and the end result, for that I would recommend Caskinette Ford to anyone. read more

Unfortunately, I haven't had great experiences with Caskinette Ford in my two visits. Recently turned in the truck for new brakes. When I called the evening of my scheduled appointment, it became apparent they didn't even look at the truck all day. I had to eat an extra day without wheels. When I inquired about the status, my assigned tech couldn't answer any questions. In addition to the brakes, I asked them to investigate a squeak on the passenger compartment and fix an inoperable rear sliding window. They wrote "CND" (could not duplicate) for the squeak (still squeaks) and had to order a part for the window. I patiently waited a couple days for a call-back on the part. None. I called in, and they knew nothing of the part request initially. Further digging resulted in it being on site. Had I not called, would I have ever been notified? Not very impressed with this organization; I've given them multiple chances. Won't be coming back. read more
