The good: The ambiance is nice. The restaurant is new and beautiful. Very clean inside. Restrooms were clean. The service: Everyone my group interacted with was on top of it, and very pleasant. The yogurt appetizer was very good. The belly dancer was fun to watch, but she mainly stayed over by the front tables. The bad: While the chicken was good, it did come out cold. The vegetable kabob that came with it was overly salty. The beef soltani was, I believe, the most expensive dish on the menu at $41 and it was NOT GOOD. Do not get it. It didn't taste like fresh beef. It had a gross smell to it. The pita bread didn't send fresh, and it was quite hard. Overall: I definitely will not be back and would not recommend this restaurant to my friends. It was fun to come here for the belly dancer entertainment, but the food is so overpriced. read more

Favorite dishes: kashk bademjoon and grape leaves appetizer platter, cold platter with all the dips, bread and olives plate, soltani, koobideh, marinated chicken thighs, lamb chops. Kids meals are well portioned and yummy also. They have live music on the weekends, can get a little loud if you have kiddos. They recommend a reservation but if you come early usually you can be seated with little to no wait. We've come here for several family dinners and occasions and we're always pleased with the service and quality of food! A little smaller than the original one in Irvine and no belly dancers , but that's okay with us since the food and aesthetic is a little more upscale here. I have been going to Caspian for over 20 years and this was the worst extremely bad service. We got a table at 7.10pm and then it took the server 20 minutes to get to us and we ordered appetizer which was cold meza which is already premade the same time we also ordered a bottle of wine. We asked the waiter after 30 minutes where is the food and wine and he said give me one second I will get I have to go behind to get the wine. Then after another few minutes we got our appetizer which was around 8pm when we also put our order for main food. Then no wine yet and then after another 15 minute he was brining the wine and he broke the bottle and glasses. So then he had to clean and waited another 15 minute that I had to get a manager to tell her it has been an hour we are waiting for wine and it is ridiculous service. Then we finally got the wine but now we are waiting for food...and it was 8.30pm. He said what did u guys order and we told him. We were only 3 of us and why did he not have a tablet to put in orders. He said the kitchen is busy and working on it. Then I told the manager and still nothing. It is now 9pm and we asked again where is the food. And manager said I am on top of it the kitchen is backed up and I was like it is an hour ago we placed the order for food and other people with bigger group than us who came after us already got there food. We did not even get extra water when we asked for and it was just a night mare. I wanted to just get up and leave but I had gone to celebrate a milestone birthday for a friend so did not walk away. Finally our food came at 9.30pm. Then the waiter did not bring our bill and we go up front. The manager gives me a bill where they charged us for 2 bottles of wine and I was like why am I getting charged for 2 bottles when it is not us who broke the bottle but was your waiter. And the manager already knew about it but she still charged it on our bill. Thank god I looked at the bill and then she corrected it. Then as a regular customer who goes there often I would expect some courtesy for the shenanigans waiting for food for 90 minute, waiting for wine for 60 minutes. She would at least remove couple dishes out but she did not. So I said I do not get any discount on all the shit that happened here today and she said okay I will give you just gave like 20%. I love the food and ambiance and it is not a cheap place but I go there but now with the kind of service why should I spend over $300 there when I get same food and ambiance with better service other place. Everyone please check your bill before you pay as a lesson you see what happened. In summary: 1. Took over 30 minute for cold appetizer 2. Took over 60 minute to get wine 3. Took over 90 minutes to get our food. Which was normal food and was just for 3 people. 4. No water service unless we asked multiple times. 5. We had to ask to clean our plates after we finished appetizer...this should be a normal waiter job we should not be asking this. I understand they were busy but if you are busy you need to have enough staff to accommodate the crowd. Why is Caspian losing their original touch. And if you cannot hire and have better servers then you should not accomodate more people. Why do the server not have tablets that put an order direct when they take it and goes to kitchen. The food is not cheap and so we as customer expect good service. I am not going to go there again as also the manager sucked even after complaining multiple times. read more

Soleil and Nick were our servers/bartenders, and they really made our second time here just as awesome as the first time we came in. Super friendly, laid-back, and helpful without being overbearing. They gave us great suggestions--we went with the lamb kabab plate and the veggie plate, and both were seriously good. The flavors were fresh and bold, and the portions were just right. We weren't planning on dessert, but they convinced us to try the vegan ice cream, and it was actually amazing--creamy and not too sweet. Had a reservation for date night, was seated super promptly (hostess was very attentive and sweet). Was provided water 10 mins in without any words, then another 10 mins passed. We waited 20+ mins and weren't able to flag anyone down to order, even though there were a ton of servers and very few occupied tables. We left.
