Came here with my gf this past Saturday. I really liked the tasting room, it's very nice in there. There looked to be this outdoor area too. Unfortunately we didn't actually venture out there. The one thing that turned me off,was that we seemed to have the bare minimum attention from the girl pouring for us. As we walked in she was on the phone, which happens, I understand. Maybe its personal or maybe its for the winery I don't know, however it definitely sounded to be personal. But as we walked in we didn't really seem to get any acknowledgment from her, and awkwardly just waited for the call to finish. i think we should have gotten some kind of acknowledgment instead of waiting for the call to end. Seemed like a personal call and honestly if she had acknowledged us when we walked in the door I wouldn't have minded the least bit. Just tell us "welcome, i'm just wrapping a telephone conversation up with a friend and i will be right with you. Feel free to walk around the tasting room and check out our jams, merchandise, etc. The sales we are having are __________. Or take a walk outdoors and checkout our beautiful grounds." I think there were so many opportunities to handle that situation, but unfortunately they were not put into action. even during the tasting i felt like she was maybe on her phone or just looking down and doing something. so, like i said we didn't seem to have much of her attention. Casque is such a quaint and relaxing tasting room to visit. You can order food from the flower farm and sit outside by the pond and enjoy a bottle of wine or a tasting. I have also enjoyed their holiday shopping events in the winter. Both their white and red varietals are excellent. read more

The two star reviews on this place are way off. This was our 3rd stop on day one of our auburn wine trail tour and the winery did not disappoint. The owner was very nice and explained all of their wines and how they harvest the grapes. They are located right next to the flowerfarminn which is where we might be getting married so it was well worth the trip. Beautiful location but management ruined our experience. Over the summer I had a group of 10 there to taste and eat lunch for a birthday. We are a quiet group and had kids with us. I tried to call ahead to reserve a table in case it was crowded but never got a call back. When we were there it was over a 100 degrees and we were (literally) the only people there. 2 late arrivals went in to order wine and were refused service until the manager could "speak to the leader of our party." The lady then proceeded to lecture me in front of my group, saying their policy does not allow groups of 10 or more without a reservation. She would "let it slide this time", but in the future I need to make a reservation. Very frustrating experience, won't be back. read more

Friendly staff and beautiful new tasting room, right off the pond at the Flower Farm Inn (great setting). The wines are good but on the pricy side for Placer County. One of the closet stops on the Wine Trail (if coming from the west) and worth making. Can combine a fall/winter visit here with Mandarin farm stops, too. read more

We love this winery! My daughter and I meet friends there most Friday nights for their live music and food truck events during the Summer. Always a great time - the music lately has been outstanding! We love their wines and the folks there are fantastic. This past Friday there was a snafu with the food truck - apparently due to technical difficulties it had to leave prior to any food service. Casque offered to go and pick up pizzas at the local Round Table if people wanted to place and order - Casque would bring the pizza to you. Due to a series of unfortunate events, our pizza was ordered, but did not get picked up. No biggie - we were still having a great time. Once Danica (tasting room) realized we did not get our pizza, she hopped in her car and went and got it for us. Service above and beyond! This place is tops and will continue to get our business! read more

My first time there on July 21th. Seating tables on crush rocks is a hazardous. The smell of a garbage can in the seating area was undesirable. Food selection is was a ripoff, running short on food we overheard the staff give direction to lessen the portion amount. If the winery doesn't oversee their vendors, it becomes their problem. The wines are good. I've been here a number of times with friends. We have always commented that the young woman who works here is very aloof, snobbish, and actually rude. A few weeks ago I went by myself for the first time. I won't go again. I was the only one in the tasting room. I made a few friendly comments. The young woman pouring couldn't even look me in the eye. I didn't even finish my tasting. I did buy one bottle because the wine is good and I have a favorite. But after I left, I really rethought ever coming here again. There are so many other places where the service is warm and friendly. I hope the owners read this. I've already told a number of people about my exprience, because I was SO disappointed and actually surprised. I had really looked forward to a fun or at least enjoyable tasting experience. Get a new employee!!!! You will probably sell a LOT more wine. read more

A charming little place at the Flower Farm with some solid wines and good service. I was especially pleased with their selection of whites, which are my favorite. They included a sauvignon blanc, a blended white, a roussane, and a viognier. Plenty of reds to go around as well. Very nice patio area with a pond to sit with a glass and enjoy a nice day. read more

LOVE Casque wines. The tasting room is in a great location. Good for meeting with a group or spending an afternoon in the flower garden with a friend. I enjoyed their white wines especially, but the reds are good, too. It gets pretty busy on the weekends. read more

What a wonderful experience we had at Casque Winery! We had our daughter and future son n laws Engagement party at this venue and what a great experience it was. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. The event coordinator Erika was amazing and so calm throughout the planning process and on the night of the event. Any time we had a question she responded very promptly. I would highly recommend this venue for events,so pretty especially in the evening. Was visiting friends Labor Day weekend and we came here for wine tasting. I was very impressed with the wines and service-Jackie was amazing! $5 per person you get to taste like 10 wines. I loved that the environment was intimate and surprisingly not crowded for a holiday weekend. It is dog friendly and they have lunch available. I ordered a sandwich which was pretty good. My favorite! This place is amazing for wine lovers and wine newbies too. I really like Casque and I could go on and on, so here is an abbreviated list of the wonderfulness you can expect: The wine is excellent. The Placer County Wine Trail is not full of what I consider fantastic wine, but Casque has incredible Petit Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and stellar Rosé too. If you are into great full bodied wine, come here. If you don't really know what you like, have a tasting with the incomparable Jacquie and she will guide you through their seasonal offerings. I mentioned the wine (so tasty!) and it's worth it to consider being a member here. They have exclusive member events and great discounts when you visit. The space! Oh man. Picture this: local art on the walls, room to savor your glass of ruby richness inside or outside, but go outside! Casque is at the Flower Farm and boasts the lovely landscape of the nursery and pond. There is bocce ball and corn hole (what a terrible name. Bean bag throw in the hole is too long to say, but really, corn hole?). The nearby Café will deliver to you before 4pm and their selection is wonderful. This is by far my favorite place to enjoy wine in the area. I know I said this would be abbreviated, but I couldn't help it. This place is wonderful. And the owners! They're so generous and knowledgable! Goodness abounds at Casque. read more

Casque is our favorite Placer County winery. We became members and took our family to the tasting room for a picnic on the patio. The staff was so nice and accommodating to our large group including my mother-in-law who is in a wheel chair. They even brought all our tastings out to our table. This place has definitely gotten too big for its britches! They used to host casual and fun Friday night events and now they are cramped, crowded and patrolled by the snobby and rude owner. We were loyal customers and wine club members for 4 years and today we were treated like stray animals. If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. Took some clients there this evening to enjoy the wine, music and food truck. Our client's daughter was going out to the food truck and accidentally ran into a pot (like for flowers) and broke it. The two men in charge (I believe the owner) were far from understanding but instead, ridiculed our entire group. We were SO embarrassed! We immediately got up to go pay for the broken pot (it was already cleaned up) but the two men walked away and we couldn't find anyone, so we sat down, until we saw them again. A few min later, the man walked up to us and said, "I don't want to be the bad guy, but that will be $85." Keep in mind, (1) We were looking for him to voluntarily pay, (2) he was a complete a** about this, (3) this was an honest accident (as opposed to obnoxious kids running around, destroying things), (4) We live right up the street and go there QUITE frequently, also sending our friends, clients and family there. I hope that pot was worth you losing LOTS of business. With 20 wineries on this trail, we'll go (and send our friends, clients and family) to one that will appreciate our business. read more

We have drove by this place many of times. It looked nice but we were expecting a new addition to the family so wine tasting was out of the question. Today is May 29th and the Mrs. Is finally ready to leave the nest and our son is 11 days old. She tells me she wants to go visit casque wines. We got here and it is a beautiful venue. Today is the first hot day of the year so we walked us and the baby into the wine tasting room. The tasting bar was full so we sat down in the waiting area. We sat for approximately 20 minutes and both the ladies acknowledged us- we didn't stand right at the bar as there was no room. Another couple walked up and soon as it cleared and we were standing up to walk over and instead of letting the couple know we were waiting they just offered them menus so we were frustrated but got up and left and figured we would venture to the other area and order a glass of wine and maybe it would empty out. We enjoyed our drinks outside as it was pretty full in the other area inside. We decided to grab another drink but it was warm outside so we went back to the tasting room thinking the AC would be good for the baby since it was warm (97) outside and finish our drinks and then perhaps my husband could try wine (I didn't want to have more than one alcoholic beverage). We went and sat down again at the tasting room- at this point it was fairly empty. We were finishing our drinks when the lady behind the bar walked up to us. We thought she was coming to offer us a tasting. Instead she told us to leave bc my husband had a beer- so he drank his beer quickly as to not upset her and she still made us leave. We left and then I walked back and decided I should ask for a manger- we went back to finally try there wine and after being ignored once and kicked out the second time we thought maybe we should find out why. The owner walked out and said it was ABC violation but he was the owner of the entire property so I'm guessing there is only one liquor license- anyway he told me we should have just stood behind people or squished our way in. Both of his bartenders acknowledged us- we didn't want to ruin other guests tasting experience- but apparently if you aren't rude and obnoxious you won't be served as he blamed it being busy. We tried twice to try wine and we were patient and instead of serving us and already realizing it was our second time in there they just kicked us out even though my husband tried to just finish his beer and stay in the AC for the baby. This was horrible customer service. I hope this was a mistake on their part because there and countless great wineries in a short vicinity. read more

We visit about 20 wineries a year and enjoyed our trip to Casque. They have a beautiful landscaped lunch area where you can enjoy your own picnic or eat from their cafe. The wine was good. They told us that they buy their grapes from Cooper, in Amador, which is one of our favorite wineries. read more

I have never been so embarrassed. I've hesitated to write this review but it seems others have had similar experiences. My family has been supporting Casque and Flower Farm for several years. We have used their wine for corporate parties, held family socials, met friends for coffee and lunch, our neighborhood even holds our HOA meetings at Flower Farm. Just as we have for numerous Fridays over the summer, we headed over for some dinner, wine, and music. We packed a chess game to play with our 2 sons. My husband went in to order our wine (and pick up our club shipment) and I headed over to order our dinner. Suddenly the owner of Flower Farm came over and asked me what my intentions were for that evening! I can't even describe how rude his demeanor was. I told him the same as everyone else's. He then proceeded to address me as if I were a school child and informed me we could not bring our wine to that side of the pond (liquor licenses) and that children were no longer welcome at the winery. (My boys were sitting playing chess waiting for their tri tip). I was on the verge of tears as I explained how we had been coming here for years and the owner told me "Well, it's time for you to leave now." Apparently, the winery is no longer family friendly and I do understand how strict liquor licenses are. However, their is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for a local business owner to verbally assault and demean a patron in that manner. We were meeting two other couples for dinner and wine, and after telling them not to bother driving out, we carefully recounted the dialogue that was exchanged; and we will continue to spread the word. Casque please do not allow that man to speak to your customers - I guarantee it is costing you numerous, numerous customers. read more
