Awesome selections on clearance? We were visiting Cassona in search of new side tables. We hit every store in the 'hood as well as online and didn't really find what we wanted. We walked into Cassona and the side table in the window display was perfect! The staff was amazing. We learned the table's mate was in their Evanston store and they secured both tables for us at clearance prices! We also found a large ottoman/coffee table during our visit. It's been 3 weeks and the pieces are in our living room and look amazing. We are thrilled with the staff. Not only are they very knowledgeable of their inventory, they remember their customers. Purchased a sofa and chair about 6 month ago. Cassona's excellent service and attention to detail made the purchasing experience relaxing and pleasant. Their sales staff (John and Angel) have excellent design sense and were very helpful with color and fabric suggestions based on the look we wanted. It's been over 7 months and the Rowe couch is still almost new, even though we use it frequently. This couch is not a display piece; we almost overuse it, but it's holding up surprisingly well. The foam has held its shape perfectly, and it still feels very firm to the touch. The fabric is also super resilient. To the folks who express concern over price, that is fine. Purchasing high quality items will fetch a certain price, but when you consider the amount of use the item will get and the quality of the products (their design, build, etc.) the prices are more than reasonable. read more

This review is based mainly on the great service I received. I've never actually visited the store; this is an online purchasing story. Here's what happened. Desperately in need of a bed frame, I'd scoured many affordable furniture stores in Chicago only to come up empty. Then, I found one I really liked at an outlet store in Evanston, but the price wasn't right. (I'm not spending thousands of dollars on a queen-sized bed frame that I'm exchanging for a king as soon as my bedroom gets bigger.) Back to my story. On a whim, I searched online and found my bed at Cassona -- and for much less! So, I called and Angel was so helpful with the order and scheduled the delivery within a couple of days. The delivery men arrived on said day promptly and were very professional. The bedframe was beautiful, but after they left, I noticed an imperfection in the staining of the wood. I called Angel and he ordered me a replacement, which was delivered about four weeks later. Based on this great service, I'll be back to Cassona for my next furniture purchase. read more

This is an organization that knowingly sells defective merchandise. Cassona does not tell you this, of course. When they get caught, they cover it up with your credit card company. We had a third party upholstery professional critique two purchased chairs from this store. The opinion was that the chairs were defective in a dangerous way. Broken bases, visible and open staples, poor construction. Clearly not something anyone would buy once delivered. Their answer - TOO BAD. I trust they will be out of business soon. read more

I am in the process of remodeling and have gone to Targets, Walmarts, Ikeas, Pier 1s and I was so tired of seeing the same merchandise. A friend told me about Cassona so I took a trip to Andersonville. It was so inspiring to see a wide variety of styles and authentic furniture and decorative pieces of art . It even helped motivate me into getting my room completed so I can show it off. Now I'm looking forward to starting the next room with a stop at Cassona. Make sure if you are decorating and feel stuck, to stop by there. It will give you ideas and inspire you. The staff was also helpful in putting your ideas together. read more

The gentlemen at Cassona are a joy to work with. We came in with but a small idea of what pieces we wanted and were not really serious about shopping at the moment. They presented us with so many options that we could not see going anywhere else or taking any more time. We looked at several pieces, talked about measurements and coverings and they took care of the entire process of ordering and delivery. Visited these guys twice over the past week (2 weekends in a row). Worked with the manager (Angel). He was very pleasant to work with, really just a nice experience. They have a great selection of high quality modern furnishings and accessories. Very reasonably priced as well. I wish we had discovered this place earlier on in our shopping process, we likely would have bought a decent amount more furniture from them. read more

After a nightmarish experience trying to buy a bed at Roy's (seven months after placing my order, we still didn't have anything, and they were dodging calls and emails), I emailed a bunch of other local Chicago furniture stores to see if any of them could special order the same bed. Within 30 minutes of hitting "send" I received an email back from Alma, the owner of Cassona. She said she could special order the bed, quoted us a price, and, after telling her about our problems getting the bed at Roy's, she "guaranteed" us that she could deliver the bed within 10-12 weeks and PROMISED that we would be completely satisfied with Cassona's customer service. Even though the price was more than at Roy's, the reality was that Roy's price was irrelevant: if they couldn't actually deliver the bed, then the incredibly low price didn't matter. Despite not having stepped foot in the Cassona store, we took a chance and trusted Alma to make good on her promises. She clearly wanted our business, seemed very organized and professional, and had the benefit of excellent reviews on Yelp to reinforce what she was promising us. The result: Cassona has absolutely earned our business from now on. And I say that despite the fact that we actually had some bumps in the road. Not only did Alma stick to her delivery promise, but she was actually able to get the bed here earlier than expected. Unfortunately, when the bed showed up, there was some damage to it (from the factory). I informed Alma, sent her some quick cell phone pictures, and she promised us she'd get the damaged part replaced. A few weeks later, a replacement footboard arrived (again...it had to be special ordered, so it wasn't like she could just swap it out from Cassona's own warehouse). Unfortunately, that one was damaged as well (it was clear that there was a quality control issue at the manufacturer that had nothing to do with Cassona. Because it was a special order, there was no way to check for damage before it arrived). Shocked that this could happen twice, Alma kicked it into overdrive and worked with the manufacturer to get a second replacement footboard expedited, and in the end, we ended up with the bed we wanted. It looks great and we're completely happy. Despite this longer-than-expected process, Alma provided AMAZING customer service. She regularly emailed us with updates and kept us informed on progress, and even when she went on vacation, her staff picked up right where she left off and continued to stay in touch. They were completely organized, and there was never a point where we felt like we had been forgotten about. Each time we had a delivery, Alma was able to get us scheduled very quickly, and her delivery guys did a great job (they showed up on time, and were very efficient). Ordering furniture can be a bit of an adventure, and special ordering makes it even more so. All you can ask of a retailer is that they keep their promises, do their best, and treat you properly. Cassona did all of that. The damage problems weren't their fault: all they could do is react to those problems as quickly as possible and try to make things right. And that's EXACTLY what they did. If not for the manufacturer's quality issues, Cassona would have delivered the bed several weeks earlier than promised, and that's how they should be judged (along with how they worked to resolve the problems). That's why I wanted to leave such a thorough review: they deserved to be acknowledged for their excellent efforts. I would ABSOLUTELY order from Cassona again, and if you're reading this, you should too. They will do everything possible to make sure you have the best possible experience. read more

Love going to this store every couple of months. It's like taking a stroll thru different lands and cultures. My fav are the Spanish Rustics and Asian Influenced furniture. I also enjoy the decorative nicnaks and artwork. With just a few pieces you can transform an entire room, especially if you're on a budget and can't do an entire remodeling project. Modern but does not miss on function. Love the cleanly designed furniture and unique one of a kind accessories. Prices are reasonable for their quality, probably in between Crate and Barrel and Dania. I had a difficult time finding a buffet longer than 66" for my dining room and found the perfect one from here. I also bought the matching table. I ordered a backordered mirror and was worried about whether it would arrive before housewarming party. Alma (the owner) made sure it arrived a week before the party. Sometimes they sell floor samples for half the price if you don't mind minor, barely noticeable scratches. That means a few hundred dollars savings. read more

We recently bought a couch from Cassona and had a really great experience. We walked in one day just casually looking at furniture for an upcoming move and were hoping to find a coffee table. Instead we saw a really beautiful couch. We weren't sure about the price and salesperson told us there was an upcoming sale and it would be 20% off. We were sold. We came back on the day of the sale, but didn't think to check when the store was closing and arrived about 5 minutes after closing time. The sales associate saw us outside and let us in anyway and we were able to order the couch. He even spent time with us discussing the fabrics and upgrade options. You would have had no idea that it was past closing time based on how much attention he was giving to us and the time he spent with us. We ended up buying a picture as well. The couch arrived within the time frame they promised and in perfect condition. We've only had a month so far, but we don't have any issues at all. Almost everyone we have had over has complimented about beautiful it is. We plan to go back when we are ready to buy a new bedroom outfit next year. read more

This review is long overdue, my new sofa arrived in October and I couldn't be happier. Prices are better than most similar larger chains, and the quality is really good. I was happy to support products that are made in the USA and certified sustainable. The thing that will keep me returning to Cassona though is the amazing customer service. John was amazing to work with, very patient with my million questions and helpful with fabric selections (especially something that would hold up to pets) and different options that he could work out with the manufacturer (things like tufting, pillow splits, leg design). I felt like a VIP customer even though I was only purchasing one sofa and I truely got a custom piece. I called back with a few follow up questions and even the owner had knowledge of my order. Angel provided great communication regarding delivery and the delivery people were helpful as well. Purchased a Young Furniture sectional sofa - it looks and feels great. Very high quality - no shoddy fall-apart-in-a-year stuff sold at Cassona - maybe a little more expensive than some other places, but you won't be replacing it in 2 years, so cheaper in the long term I think! Most impressive was the customer service we received from John. Unlike other furniture places we went to, there was no awkward hovering or up-selling. He also gave us good tips that didn't occur to us (such as - check the cleaning codes for the fabric; don't order an ottoman yet - wait until you have the couch, so you can see if it would actually fit in the space!). After we placed the order, it turned out the fabric we chose was out of stock at the manufacturer, and I think he was more upset than we were! Very helpful/attentive in helping us re-tool the order with a new fabric choice (which looks much better than the original would have). Very happy with the product, and the quality of service was fantastic - thank you John! read more

We had a wonderful experience as Cassona, and we were incredibly impressed with the overall service. When we originally purchased our couch and chair, Angel spent over two hours helping us. Not once did we feel pushed, rushed or ignored. We actually had a great time at the store! Once the furniture was delivered, we were disappointed that the chair was wrinkled. Obviously, the chair came from the factory, so this was by no means the store's fault. I will say, however, that they went above and beyond to rectify the situation. They were very apologetic and prompt with their email and phone responses. The owner, Alma, got involved and, like Angel, she just went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our purchase. She even ended up driving a new chair to our home in the suburbs! I recommend this place to all of my friends and co-workers.... they honestly have my loyalty for many, many years to come! read more

Being in college, I'm no stranger to buying furniture for my apartment. However in Texas (where I live), we typically don't stray from the huge furniture stores. In Chicago, if you do the same as we do - you're going to miss out - tremendously! I went with my cousin this past weekend to Cassona to find some furniture for her new (and improved if I do say so myself) apartment. We left with an adorable sofa (which I plan on crashing on just a fewwww times) and this GREAT dining room set (so we don't have to angle ourselves at the bar just so we can eat and look at each other). The best part about it? - Why of courseeee everything we bought was on sale! And I'm not just talking 0% interest television commercial sale - basically a steal! We're definitely planning my going away party at her apartment now that it looks great and everyone will be comfortable!
