What an incredible and refreshing experience it was working with everyone at Murphy Wallbeds. Eric came out for the initial consultation and measurements for an office/guest bedroom setup and 3 closets. He took his time and walked through certain design choices with us. Eric and his team did an absolutely amazing job. Just look at my pictures (although it looks even better in person). We needed our third room to work as an office (husband works from home) and a guest bedroom with a queen sized bed. We hate white cabinets and we feared it would look cheap, but it looks amazing! Eric came out, took measurements of everything, and had great suggestions when we couldn't decide on things. Our murphy bed and desk are the first thing people compliment and everyone is always amazed at the quality. The before and after pictures show you just how much molding they were working with in our third bedroom and they knocked it out of the park. Wow, these guys are the absolute best at what they do. Best investment we've ever made! We have wanted a Murphy bed for some time for our guest bedroom so we didn't always have a bed taking up space when we didn't have company, but good ones are so expensive. When we moved to Chicago we did a lot of research until we found Murphy Wallbeds Chicago. They are so easy to work with and their system is top quality but at a very affordable price for what you get which is reclaiming your room while adding a beautiful piece of functional furniture They allow you to customize as much as you want. And they are total perfectionists from design to installation which of course is very welcome! He worked around our move-in and work schedules seamlessly. Every one of those on the crew were total professionals. To top things off, a past dog sitter put the bed down without placing the leg down so bent the frame and wood, damaging it. We called Eric to see what it would take to fix it. It still worked but of course didn't look great seeing the wood cracked. They came out and fixed it quickly, making it perfect again for us. The customer service is just out of this world! It is rare these days to have such an amazing experience on the customer service as well as perfect quality product and workmanship but Murphy Wallbeds Chicago nailed it!!! I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience demands one. First, if you've gotten this far, you know you want a Murphy bed, so everything else is about price and options. Second, since you've found Chicago Wall Beds, your search is over and you just need to realize it and pull the trigger. Murphy beds are expensive. That's just the way they are- they're specialized pieces of furniture. When you're searching for Murphy beds, you're going to find uber expensive Italian ones (think $10k) and less expensive units on line, like the ones sold by Costco. I read countless reviews about different online beds and it kept coming back to quality and assembly, both of which everyone seemed to have some complaint about. So I knew I needed to find someone local. When I first contacted these guys and visited their tiny showroom on Paulina, I knew I found the company I wanted to work with. Tons of options and it's clear these guys know what they're talking about. These beds are high quality (single handed operation!) and you quickly learn that installation is just as important as the quality of the furniture itself. The install took hours and the crew didn't leave behind a single bit of debris, only a perfectly installed bed in their wake. I just moved to Chicago from Denver and I'm having to learn to conserve on space so I wanted a wall bed in the guest bedroom. I went to one design showroom that sold wall beds starting at $10k and I stood in there for 10 min before I was even acknowledged. Very pretentious and unfriendly atmosphere. I then went to Murphy Bed's of Chicago and was immediately greeted by their friendly receptionist. I placed the order and then Eric followed up and sent a design for the pieces I had ordered. The installation team was extremely friendly and professional. The craftsmanship is beautiful and the bed itself is so comfy. We slept in it for 4 nights before our furniture got here from Colorado. I wanted a Murphy bed for our guest room/office for a long time. I took a quick look at a local custom shops and was put off by the high cost. I spent months looking on line and found lots of options with bad reviews, mostly for looking cheap and falling apart. I decided to put more time into exploring custom options. Luckily I found Murphy Wallbeds. Beautiful, sturdy, well made, and priced reasonably. Easy to operate. I don't worry about even the heaviest houseguests sleeping on it. A queen bed costs about 50% more than the cheap online options but it's totally worth it. It was delivered and installed on time, and when it banged against the wall a tiny bit the installers came out within a couple of days to fix it. Every single person was a pleasure to deal with. You know that feeling you get when you make a several thousand dollar purchase and everything goes so well you come out believing you got a steal? Me neither...until our recent purchase with Murphy Wallbeds Chicago.  From start to finish, everything went so well, I honestly couldn't believe it (and their prices are markedly lower than ClosetWorks when I compared estimates.) The owner, Eric, is a genuinely nice person who is passionate about every aspect of murphy bed design and installation and I have no doubt he is the best at what he does.  He listened to what we wanted (a wall bed with a desk), provided great ideas for how to maximize our space and customized the plan to meet our specific needs (my husband has a clunky eye-sore printer that Eric built a custom cabinet with a pull-out drawer for - so now we're both happy!)  His team is also very professional and hard working.  They even took their shoes off and put blankets down in their workspace - a detail that did not go unnoticed from an obsessively neat person.  Their craftsmanship and attention to detail was impressive - they made sure all the cords could be hidden and that everything was level and flush against the wall.  Impressively, Eric was also there installing the murphy bed.  There was a very minor issue with the mattress size and Eric came by the next day with a replacement - that type of honest customer service is so foreign to me it makes me wish we needed a murphy bed in every room (they may need to implement a punchcard system for all my future purchases...)  Needless to say, I highly recommend the wallbeds, and Eric and his team, at Murphy Wallbeds Chicago. It doesn't seem like this place needs any more 5-star reviews for people to get the idea, but they deserve it. This is a great company. Eric (the owner, and a super nice guy) came to our house to measure and brought wood samples so we could get an idea of how various colors would look with existing colors in the room. He made some suggestions and (gently) steered us away from decisions that would have been disastrous in retrospect. He offered a few options and upgrades, but didn't push them. The installers were on time, friendly and professional. They clearly knew what they were doing. It was a bit of a difficult install due the condition of our very old and not very square walls, but they took the extra time to get the bed as flush as possible. The finished product looks and works great. I've never bought a Murphy bed before, so I can't really speak to how the prices compare to other companies, but the cost seems reasonable to me and feels like it was worth it.
