My Name is Fred and Joyce Jones with our eldest Daughter Shay we met up there. We came into this nice and cozy restaurant beautifully decor really intimate. So the Owners A Daughter and Mother operation we met Ms. Mandy one of the daughters and their Mother Ms. Willowmena they gave us such a down home Welcome and the hospitality was second to none. As far as the food it's was incredible true to its roots true down home cooking . We told the ladies we would be back. P.S. try the Southern style Fried Fish and the Mac and Cheese and those Damn Collard Greens were to die for those Smothered Pork Chops were out of sight we couldn't eat all of our food. Please give Cassy Kitchen a try you want be disappointed ENJOY

Good food, nice atmosphere, the parking could be a little better, the AC was not working properly the day I came, but I would go back

I love this restaurant! And it's favorite spot to visit when I'm in Houston…read more The food is always fabulous, and I enjoy the libation. My last dish was étouffée with gold tile filet - delicious! TV screens in the background don't interfere with the table conversations. There's street parking.

Josephine's is listed as a Michelin recommended restaurant, and so we visited with some friends -…read moreit was a party of four on a Tuesday evening. I had pretty high expectations. We started by sharing a couple of appetizers - the smoked redfish dip and the biscuits. I'm weird about smells and aftertastes - and was hesitant to try the smoked redfish dip. The dip was flavorful and very smoky - the crackers it is served with were amazing. The aftertaste was tolerable, but a little fishy for me. The biscuits - I could write poems about them. I'd go back to eat baskets of just those biscuits. Highly recommend. My husband ordered the fried catfish platter - it was amazing. The catfish nuggets were crunchy and HOT (temperature), the fries were perfectly seasoned and the hush puppy was a crunch heard around the globe. Sadly, the shrimp and grits arrived to the table at room temp. The flavor was really good, but I was worried to mention the temp issue and have the kitchen nuke them in the microwave. The red beans and rice were similarly room temp and congealed. The restaurant atmosphere was lovely, the service was solid, and on a Tuesday evening we could have walked in and been seated quickly. Overall, it was a nice evening with our friends. Sometimes the company makes up for small disappointments.

Guys, THEY MOVED!!! New location is about a 5-7 minute drive from the old one. Check the address…read more As always, the food and service never disappoint. My go-to is the Overload over rice. When I got home, however, discovered that it was over egg noodles this time. No worries though. We come for the cream sauce and the large potion sizes, not the carb that's included, right?! Also, they offer a new tea made in house with Pineapple and Peach. To die for. It is sweet but not aggressively so. The inside has about 3 booths and counter seating now. The location is on the end cap of a strip where Level One Fitness is, across the street from Young Women's College Preparatory Academy. The service is always stellar and personable. The owner is a couple. The wife usually takes the orders but on this day, there was a vendor assisting with the new cashless payment and menu system. There isn't a lot of parking so you'll have to park around the corner, on the street, in front of the church across the street. If you're lucky, you might be able to snag one of the few spots right in front of the door but that'll depend on if there is a group fitness class going on at the gym. So extremely happy that they now have a store front and have expanded beyond the back counter in the gas station. Will return soon for some more Pineapple/Peach tea!!!!

The drive thru line was wrapped around so I placed an order to go inside. The restaurant was moderately busy for a Sunday and was clean and well decorated. The prices were reasonable- with a variety of options including seafood, wings, plenty of sides and desserts. I opted for the combo plate with 2 fried catfish filets and 10 shrimp served with fries and a roll. It took about 20 minutes since everything is made fresh and it was well worth it! Everything was crispy, hot and seasoned well (though the fish could have had a weensy bit more). The Joes Berry Lemonade was a nice refresher to wash it all down. I will absolutely be coming here again.
