This is a busy place. This is my first visit but my friends come once a week. There is always a wait. Not sure how the seating works but I could have sworn two to three couples went before us yet they arrived after us. My friend said they could have had a reservation. So don't be surprised when you see people go ahead of you. We were seat in the back area and had a very friendly, smiley young lady. She was pure joy and did a good job waiting on us. There was also a young man I think who was a busboy/helper. He was sweet too. I ordered Biscuit and gravy, $5.99. They were good and that is all I can say. I have better. My girlfriend had pancakes and bacon. I tried the pancakes and they were good. My friends husband had the Lumber Jack Special $10.99. He loved it. The food was good, nothing special, just good. But the service by our waitress was five stars. My friend just loved her and said that was reason he enjoyed coming here, because the staff made him feel special.

Tried breakfast and it's really great! They know how to do breakfast Southern style. They offer lots of options and it's very fresh and made to order. The grit bowl was fantastic and can be created to fit your taste. You can swap grits for potatoes, as well. Looking forward to going back for more yummy breakfast meals with friends and family!

Friendly service. Good food, and the coffee was fresh. Surpassed expectations! Was busy, but had minimal wait time.

The kitchen team here is operating at an incredibly high level. The Scallops: Absolute perfection. They had that beautiful golden sear while remaining buttery and tender inside. The flavor profile was sophisticated yet allowed the freshness of the seafood to shine. The Red Snapper: A standout dish. The fish was cooked to moist, flaky perfection, showcasing a delicate balance of textures that only a top-tier chef can achieve. The Risotto: Honestly, this dish deserves its own line item in our family budget. It is so addictive that I'd happily order it every single day if I could! Out-of-this-World Service While the food was spectacular, the service was truly cosmic. It's rare to find a team that is this intuitive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. They don't just take orders; they curate an experience. Every detail was anticipated before I even had to ask.

Our main entrees were just OK. I had much better fresh seafood at other restaurants we tried locally.

Service is welcoming and professional. They have daily specials. My husband and I ordered the crab dip and hush puppies for appetizers. The hush puppies were perfectly fried and slightly sweet. They were served with a seasoned butter. The crab dip was served with toasted French bread as an option. The crab dip was delicious. For dinner my husband ordered the shrimp po boy and really liked the shrimp. I had the fried shrimp platter. It came with coleslaw, string fries, and hush puppies. The shrimp were large, breaded but not greasy. They were fresh and very well seasoned. We really enjoyed our dinner here and would definitely go back.

We started with a dozen oysters. Unfortunately, the presentation and accompaniments were disappointing--cocktail sauce and horseradish were combined in the same container, and the mignonette lacked flavor. More concerning, several of the oysters had small pieces of shell in them. We ordered another half dozen, but they sat on the counter for quite a while. Multiple servers walked past them before they were finally brought to our table, which was frustrating. To make matters worse, my husband noticed a server drop a ticket on the floor, pick it up, and then place it back above the food that was waiting to be served. That raised some serious concerns about food handling and cleanliness. Overall, while the oyster selection is impressive, the service and attention to detail really fell short of expectations.

The lobster bisque soup was delicious; however, you had to pay extra for lobster chunks to be added. It was $11 without the added chunks. The Mac and cheese was okay. Their food was at a discounted price for the soft opening day. They were serving a whole steamed lobster with butter and lemon, Maine or New England Style Lobster Roll both served on a grilled roll with lettuce, Lobster Bisque, Lobster Mac & Cheese, and sides of corn and chips. If you purchase more of the lobster menu items, then you get a more discounted price.  They had a 15 minute late start opening/taking food orders, but understandly, it was their first day. There was no organized line, but when they were ready to start taking orders, they were nice enough to take my order first since I was the first person to arrive. Generally, England-style lobster roll is served warm with a butter base and a Maine style lobster roll is served cold with a mayo base. I tried the England-style lobster roll. The bread roll was soft, not grilled as advertised and was about 6 inches long. Don't wait to eat this because the roll will get soggy quickly. The lobster roll was good and I devoured it in seconds. It was seasoned just right with a hint of butter. There are additional seasonings you can add to your food, including their own homemade spice, Old Bay, and paprika. I liked their homemade spice, it added a nice kick. I still felt a little bit hungry after eating the roll so I suggest getting at least one side or another lobster roll. If I had to compare to Joe's Lobster Roll and Salty Sistas lobster rolls, I would choose Salty Sistas as my favorite lobster roll. I also tried the lobster bisque. I wished it was more hot in temperature. It was lukewarm when it was served. I did not bother to ask for it to be warmed up because I did not want to wait even longer. The thin pureed consistency of the soup was not what I was expecting. It was not too rich tasting, had a slightly acidic tomato flavor, and had chunks of lobster.  During my visit, they accepted cash only but eventually they will accept credit card. They plan to serve the Wilmington, Snead's Ferry, and Hampstead area.

This place is an absolute legend, a classic coastal roost that's been serving the beach community since the days when shorts were shorter and the hair was bigger. It's got that beautifully weathered, no-frills, old-school charm--clean as a whistle but entirely unpretentious, like a well-loved coastal nest. Step inside the massive indoor dining room, a sprawling, wood-paneled 'coop' with plenty of room for the whole flock to spread their wings. If you prefer the wind in your feathers, wander out to the open-air patio. It's a lively deck perched right over the water where you can shake a tail feather, listen to the acoustic guitar strumming, and mingle with the locals. Hold onto your tail feathers, because the biggest news on the boardwalk is officially in: the patio bar has got its liquor license. They do have a "No-Frills" Pork Chop: This isn't a fancy, thick-cut artisanal chop topped with mango-habanero chutney. No, this is a classic pork chop that looks like it was grilled by a grumpy uncle who has been staring at the same flattop griddle for thirty years. Sitting right next to the chop is a baked potato wrapped in a sheet of crinkly aluminum foil that is hot enough to melt glass. But don't bother looking around your plate for a pat of butter, just a small scoop of sour cream. You'll quickly realize this potato could have easily used another ten or fifteen minutes in the oven. It is the absolute definition of a no-nonsense joint. Cheers!
