    Tuscan chicken pasta

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area! The food is always amazing! The waitstaff are so personable and funny. And the food is very good I LOVE the Tuscan chicken pasta and lemoncello cake

Have been here multiple times and the food is generally good, however the server we seem to always get (Lisa), is generally rude and loud, and unprofessional. Today I ordered a build your own panini for take it and this is what was built...looks thrown together, not heated as a panini should be. Also I asked for mozzarella, thinking it would be fresh and was given to thin/transparent slices. I think it's time to write this place off my list for good.

    Cardboard consistency... just so bad!

I have given them so many tries. We live close by so it is convenient but they just can't get it right! The pizza is so inconsistent! The pictures on line are not what you get 80% of the time! It's not that hard to make a pizza well done... and the staff brutal! The answer for the pizza not being cooked correctly for take out was "it's not my fault, it's the kitchens."How about an offer for a resolution. Sorry guys, we will definitely not be back!

So far so good. I stopped in on a whim. I'm happy I did. I'm not disappointed. It's a quaint yet classy establishment. I ordered an old fashioned first off. Pretty tasty I must say. My starter was the arrincini . Super tasty for sure. For the encore I ordered a meat lovers pie on a cauliflower crust. Not too bad. It was kind of salty for my taste but still tasty. I'd come back. I like the ambiance. My server was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Great job

On our way to the Niantic Children's Museum, we passed their sign for 2 slices of pizza and a soda for $5. First of all, the slices are huge. Second of all, they are delicious. They have a thin, crispy crust. The sauce is really good. The service was excellent and we would be regulars, if we didn't live so far away!

    Short rib cavatelli

Decided to try Castello for restaurant week (RW) with a friend. It was really busy on a Friday night. The small parking lot was packed. I had to park a street away and walk over. FYI: Over flow parking is at the Niantic Center School. We went for RW but then, we changed our mind and ordered from the regular menu. We both got cocktails and they tasted yummy. For entrees, it was eggplant rollatini and cavatelli with short rib ragu. Both was delicious. I had the cavatelli and it was tasty - rich and a bit greasy. I wished it had a bit more acidity from the tomatoes in the sauce. The onions was chopped up a big big, too. For dessert, it was molten chocolate cake and peanut pie. I had the peanut butter pie. It was perfect - creamy and nice balance of peanut butter and chocolate. Our waitress was nice and attentive. No complaints there. We noticed it was a packed house and didn't have any lag in service. We made reservations but ended up with a table right by the door so that was a bummer. As for the crowd, it seems to be an older crowd. Solid. 3.5 stars.

Good food, pretty patio area. Lots of free parking available - can park at the school across the street if their parking lot is filled.

The waiter did not do a good job of coming to our table to check in on us, drink orders, and refilling our waters. This time I tired some of the lamb chop which was cooked well and tasted amazing for an appetizer. For the main entree this time, I had a special which was a halibut with a linguini pasta. The fish was cooked pretty good and so was the pasta (al dente) however the sauce that it was served in was quite bland. Definitely a letdown with the sauce which made me not finish the pasta. If they nailed the sauce with something savory and complimentary to the fish, this would've kept the high praise review. Overall, this experience was unfortunately a letdown with the food and staff/service, probably a bit of an unfortunate choice in meal and poor waiter for my table. Hopefully my next visit which will be in the far future is better. Food(50%): 6.5 Staff/service(25%): 4.0 Value(25%): 5.0 Overall: 5.5/10

The Chicken Ornella, the Chicken Piccata, the Bolognese and my wild Salmon were all very well made. Fresh tasting, homemade pastas and well prepared. For dessert we all shared a delicious Bread Pudding....YUMM.... This is a great place for a meal in New London, check it out. Free parking in the back of the restaurant. A parking lot that lead to the main dining area through a set of steep stairs. The entrance on Broad is street level.

Ordering was very easy online, even though the prices seemed a bit high. We ordered $109 worth of food...Arancini ($16), garlic bread with cheese($16), Penne al Vodka with sautéed chicken($32), and the Alfredo with chicken cutlet($38). I was expecting a lot for prices like these. The Arancini were 5 pieces the size of golf balls and the flavor was ok, not worth $16, out garlic bread with cheese ($16) was left out of our order, the penne vodka with sautéed chicken ($32) was dry and there were 5 small pieces of chicken, and the baked penne chicken Alfredo had broken sauce, full of grease and almost inedible...I threw out most of it. I expected so much more from this establishment. The parking lot was packed and parking just to get takeout was challenging, but the food and prices were amazingly disappointing. We may try their pizza to see if that is any better, but I would not recommend the pasta dishes. I can see charging g prices like that if the pasta was homemade, but even that is a stretch. 3 stars is generous

We couldn't decide on just one thing, so we went all‑in on appetizers: * Tuna Tartar - super fresh and flavorful * Calamari Ecuadorian Style - tender with a sauce that was different in the best way * Trio Empanadas - the Colombian beef and Ecuadorian chicken were my favorites; the plantain & cheese one wasn't really my thing * Chickpea Salad - the dressing deserves its own award And shoutout to Fausto, our server.
