Mom and I stopped here after watching the start of the Coast Guard football game. Little Officer Sis is the cheer couch and teacher at the academy. We ordered two slices of cheese pizza. Omg so good. The sliced were HUGE and the cheese slice had a slight sweetness to it. So good. We also ordered fries and the bartender offered her suggestion of parmesan and garlic to sprinkle on top. Oh ... my.... I will never forget that tip. Beers were very inexpensive and had a $5 you call it shot. Pickle back which is Jameson and a chaser of pickle juice. For $5!!! Wow! They have this awesome tasty beer on draft right now that's some sort of grapefruit something. So good and so COLD!!! Perfect for the weather !! I was dripping sweat but that's my fault for wearing 3 layers of clothes on a hot humid day. I don't even know .... lol ... what the heck I was thinking. It's not really a pizza bar, per se. It contains both a pizzeria and a bar. I suppose you can eat your pizza at the bar but it's not really any ground breaking type of eatery. The bar is located on one side and the pizzeria is located on the other side. It's separated by a small wall and small metal fence which reminded me of a Blues Brothers movie bar scene. Although I believe chicken wire was used in that movie. I didn't see any shards of glass on the floor so I'm guessing bottles don't typically get tossed around here. With a name like Slyce Pizza Bar, I was expecting something upscale. It's not. But it is clean and the staff comes across very friendly. The pizza is OK. I've had better. The best I can say is that it is filling and the price is right. By the way, this place is near the US Coast Guard Academy. It's not located near downtown New London. read more

My husband ordered a party pizza from here and it was delivered COLD. Him and his friends called them for about 20 mins from all of their phones and no one answered. Finally, I called & a guy answered and I explained to him what happened and he was rude. I asked for either a refund or a remake of the pizza and then asked to speak to the manager. The manager answered the phone and was also giving me an attitude so I of course was NOT taking another pizza from them. Last Friday we went to slice to eat. We were going to sit on the bar side. There was no one sitting there. Heidi to bar rep said no. That we have to sit on the other side. There was tables there, but months ago she decided to put them outside. We needed another chair four the only table that had chairs. Three was not enough. We asked if we could get one from out side. We were told no. That was for the coast guard. Question is who actually runs this place? If the coast guard owns it. Put it on the base for them. We'll just get everyone we know to go else where. Robin the Mgr. does whatever Heidi wants. WE are not the only one's that were told the Coast Guard was having their graduation party and that the bar was for them only. Besides the 19th was two days ago. How do you social distance with over 50 people are there. WE went to Mr. G's. And sat at the bar. With no hassle and better service. Plus they also have regular seating. If they were to retire Heidi. Their business would more than double. They could also build on the lot next store. Make a better bar and restaurant. I've ordered from here a lot over the years. I don't know if they're under New Management or what. But it's hard to find a menu online and has been for quite a while. I ordered from them through Uber eats the other day and I couldn't find beverages listed anywhere and had to call and add the beverage on separate. And when I called someone picked up the phone and hung up, and then I called back and they did it again. The third try they picked up and said please hold and put the phone down for 15 minutes. I also ordered a cheeseburger grinder for the first time ever and was shocked that instead of it being ground beef it was literally two or three hamburgers cut in half. I don't think anyone that orders a hamburger grinder thinks that it's going to be that and I'm pretty sure everyone who orders that wants it to be ground beef. This also is a sign that they're not using fresh ground beef and just using frozen burgers. I asked for nacho cheese to be added to it when I ordered and they ignored that altogether. I'm definitely going to have to cut back on ordering from them. read more

It's in between a new haven and Greek style pizza. Kids will not let me order anything but the bbq pizza. Prices are very reasonable and they always got deals going on. I really enjoy the food here. They have great prices and specials and I love that they deliver. I get delivery all the time and every time has been a good experience. The only reason I didn't give a full five stars is because sometimes it can be tricky to order over the phone. On 9/11/2021 I placed an over the phone order and went to pick it up. When I got there i had my mask on but my brother didn't . So I asked if masks were mandatory and someone jumped up out of now where and yelled YES! By the way, my brother and I are fully vaccinated , and we were more than willing to comply to regulations so that wasn't a problem. However, there was staff in the background that didn't have masks , or gloves, or hairnets , while they were preparing food. We paid for our food and left and when we got home we realized our order was wrong . It made us feel uncomfortable, and out of place in this establishment . We will never order from them again. When we addressed the situation to complain about our order being wrong, we find out the lady that made us feel like this was management, and her name is Heidi. she called us a racist. By the way we are African American and she is Caucasian, But I digress. She threatened me by saying that she was going to call NLPD after I complained about my order and said it was harassment, and my phone number will be banned and I could no longer call or order. Little does she know there is wayyyyyyy better mom&pop pizza spots in New London than this place. Don't waste your time or your money. Food is always good, have eaten here for over a year sometimes more than once a week and the food is always great. The one thing that sucks about this place? Some of the people who answer the phone. They don't listen to you, can't be quiet and write down what you are saying and consistently get rude/frustrated because I am getting frustrated with them. End result? Food is almost never the way I order it. If I ask for no cheese, it has cheese. If I ask for cheese, it comes with no cheese. I've been given the wrong order when picking up and only after checking myself and going back did they realize their mistake. I've been hung up on by one of the rude, incompetent workers there who doesn't know how to write an order down correctly, but I still go back because the food really is that good! Sucks because I've actually hung up mid order and reluctantly eaten some where else numerous times, or avoided placing an order with them altogether just to avoid possibly talking to one of "them" on the phone. Place is great but unfortunately some of the employees and their incompetency ruins it for me and that's why they only get 3 stars. Kudos to the girl that works there though, she's awesome! The first thing I will say about Slyce is that their food is really good. There is no complaint there. However, for some unknown reason, the employees there cannot take a simple order without messing it up or forgetting something. Ex: Eggplant grinder ordered and repeated back as sausage grinder. Even after correcting this over the phone, we still get a sausage grinder!! WTH? And just today...a large pizza was ordered IN person and we were delivered a hotdog. Again..WTH? If they improve I'll add more stars. The food is very inconsistent. Good things have been: the pizza crust, not too thick or thin but a wonderful delicate crispness. The Cobb salad is usually dependably good. The chicken quesadillas are usually good, with flour tortillas but unfortunately they use a heavy mozzarella or something in it. Bad things have been: not all the ingredients on the pizza are always fresh. I had some white pizza that made me slightly ill and ditto with some bad sour cream on a quesadilla. Stale cake (I paid $3 for that?!), etc. If they'd always make sure to only serve fresh ingredients, and if the chef and staff tasted the foods they're serving, they could become much better. But watch out for those past due ingredients, they might make you lose more than money. read more
