Absolutely delicious! My fiancé and I dined here several times. The flavors are so unique, well balanced but completely original. If you like tasty food, you must try Castile. We found ourselves loving their tomatoes and requesting a side order all by itself. They are seasoned to perfection and were perfectly soft, crisp and fresh. The tomatoes come with many different menu items, if you can't decide between two dishes, order the one with there tomatoes. (This comes from a person who isn't normally a tomato lover, I eat them with and in food, but never by themselves.) The atmosphere is modern and upbeat. Outdoor seating overlooks water with dolphins and manatees!!! Indoors is also nice, refreshing and cool if looking to escape the sun. No matter where you sit you will be serenaded with the sounds and music of Spain! The signature cocktails had almost too much flavor. Delicious but too large to enjoy all by yourself. You will order one and love it. But after the first we switched to wine and beer. So much flavor in the signature cocktails... Good, but too intense and sweet for more than one at a single sitting. No complaint, simply a personal opinion. Great however for sharing, order different drinks and pass them around for everyone to taste! Service was exceptional! And very friendly staff. Interesting menu, very good food We had dinner twice in Castille, the restaurant of the Hotel Zamora, twice during a recent stay in St Pete Beach. I was most impressed by the selection of dishes from different cusines and the interesting mix of ingredients in some of them (e.g. the pappardelle with wild mushrooms and Meyer lemon). Bravo. Amazing Experience & Delicious Food!! Definitely start off with the Crispy Cauliflower appetizer! And the Chilian Sea Bass and Scallops have been my fav entrees so far. But the best part of this experience was the customer service!! Just moved to St Pete Beach and was so happy to be greeted by the wonderful staff at Castile! Jackie, our server, was so friendly and helpful to everyone in our party. Very impressed with her ability to stay calm and smile, although it was a packed evening. And Nicolai, the Manager, went over and above to make sure our party was taken care of. We met Nicolai the previous evening and mentioned I just moved to the area. After a slight delay with our food, he comped us a few dishes and offered to bring us back the following evening, even though they were fully booked. Great food! Our waitress Kirsten was amazing! Everything she recommended was as described fast and friendly! I would highly recommend.

We have been coming here every year for Valentines Day for 7 years. We weren't there during Covid but we went last year and it was wonderful. We went back this year expecting the same and we were very disappointed. We started by going to the rooftop for a drink. Our bartender was out of change, half and half, seltzer and other things. We ended up getting 2 peanut butter martinis that had 3 sips in them and cost $29. We then went downstairs for dinner and we're greeted by a lovely woman, Alice. She could not have been more gracious. We decided to sit outside because it was such a lovely evening. The Valentine's Day dinner was nothing special and our waiter edged us toward the regular menu. He said it was all new. We over heard the staff telling other patrons that they had new owners and chef. I ordered the asparagus with crab and hollandaise sauce. The asparagus was deep fried and not very tasty. The crab and sauce were good. We also had the Brussel sprouts which were burnt and not good. We had the Delmonico steaks with crab and hollandaise sauce. The steak was served over mashed potatoes and long strands of thin broccoli. The steaks were cooked perfectly. My crab topping was however not hot. Our waiter was gone for long periods of time and when we asked for our check he did bring it along with our boxes for our leftovers. He did not box our food for us but he waited for me to hand him my plate when I was done. To say the least we were very disappointed. This is where we had our wedding reception. It's a memory we enjoy every year. This was not an enjoyable meal. We will try a new place for our anniversary next year. We heard there was a new chef and decided to try it out. Our visit 5 years ago was only average but the new chef has added specials and new menu items that blew us away! Went for lunch today. The Hotel and restaurant are beautiful but they have some kinks to work out, as any new business does. Menu is ambitious. If they are going to compete with the price points they are asking for, they will have to step up the details. Our table was rocking (uneven). My husbands martini was brought out before mine. All our food was slightly over-seasoned but good. The outside pool area had used glasses hanging around from perhaps the night before. Would recommend some aromatherapy as there was a construction smell that could be a turn off. Noticed they have all male staff apart from the Hostess. Could have just been the time we were there. All this being said, we are wishing this place well. We can always use a great additional choice for food and high end hotel and we do plan to visit again in a few months when they are more experienced. Absolutely amazing place to have dinner! The service is the best I've had in a very long time, the food was incredibly flavorful and the presentation was perfect. Went on a Tuesday night and found out we were there for .01 cent bottle of wine night...you read that correctly. I had just proposed to my girlfriend and it was also her birthday...before we knew it the manager came over with two glasses of complimentary champagne..which was refilled later as well! We had the best time and can't wait to come back again. You will not be sorry if you eat here. Love this place, came for cocktails and tapas, it's 4.30pm and we've been here many many times before and love it. But I have to tell u the service sucked today. Borderline just flat out rude. The woman who didn't greet us who was working at the cash register basically told us we couldn't go out on the patio. She didn't really have a reason why not and other patrons were already out there. The bartender quickly came to our rescue and greeted us pleasantly and said you can sit where u like, it's a free country. Then we ordered our craft cocktails which are absolutely delicious, but we also ordered a large bottle of sparkling water and were offered no help to get outside. I hate spilling my cocktail that's in a small glass and filled to the brim, for obvious reasons and not because I am an alcoholic! But it's not easy to carry a purse, cocktail and bottle of water without spilling. So now I wanna order tapas but not sure if we have any table service or even if we can order food. read more

Outstanding! My husband and I decided to eat out for Christmas dinner and we found this place on Open Table. I didn't have high expectations only because usually holidays in restaurants involve a lot of pre-made food and inflated prices. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised! Our dinner was excellent - on par with the best restaurants in NYC. I had the beet tartare and my husband had the arugula salad to start - in both cases, the flavors were perfectly balanced and the presentation was beautiful. We had seared tuna (for him) and seared scallops (for me) and, like the starters, both were perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Stopped in on a Monday night with a co-worker. Had been staying at The Don and was looking for some good local eats. Christian at the front desk recommended "this new restaurant that has gotten some good reviews." He gave us directions to the Hotel Zamora, and we made the three-walk block north to the restaurant (which is on the second floor). We were enthusiastically greeted by the hostess, who ushered us to an indoor table near the deck. Our waiter John came out and introduced himself to us and took our drink orders. After reviewing the menu, we decided to start with the Yellowfin Tuna Poke. Friends, this poke was pretty slammin'. It tasted just like the poke I had in Hawaii. I would get that dish again in half-a-heartbeat. For our entress, I got the Yellowfin Tuna (again) and my co-worker got the Crab Cake. We split an order of the Yucca and Chorizo Hash. The tuna was really good, but the Hash was outta sight! I was really impressed with the quality of the food and the outstanding service. Paul was on top of things throughout the night. If I'm in town in the future, I will definitely stop by. It's not cheap, but it's a great option if you have the coinage. read more

(As opposed to the crappy tourist beach food fair at other well known st Pete/passé grille "restaurants") Let me tell you why I already love this place 1. Paul our server was friendly, professional, food knowledgeable & we really had a fun time with him! (Us girls really had had a long day) 2. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor of the hotel, seating was quick and they have live music. We used a groupon and they were very nice about it plus all bottles of wine were 1/2 off. Our server was very helpful and let me try 3 samples till I found a wine I liked. The food was cook perfectly and the Chicharrón starter is a must have. The one thing I was disappointed in was my Grouper Cheeks were fired, plated poorly and didn't look like others posts still tastes great. Also the dinners didn't come with a salad course. read more

We just returned from our dinner at Castile. I had been here before and was anxious to take some family member for their first visit. We loved the outdoor deck and Jason our waiter was fabulous. Unfortunately my husband ordered the special which was brought to him cold and when he returned it the next one was worse. Third try was a charm but by that time the rest of us had finished our meals. My husband NEVER sends food back so it was really a problem. I couldn't believe we were charged for his meal. We had ordered appetizers and several bottles of wine but really felt as though the restaurant didn't do the right thing. It was a shame. read more

I was so excited to see a Tapas restaurant open on the beach. I went with a group of 6 back in Oct 2014, and everything was great ... the food, the service, the atmosphere. Since it was a few months ago, I don't remember everything we had but I'll do my best. All the items I can remember were absolutely delicious. - Yellow Fin Tuna Poke - Roasted Vegetable Endive Poppers - Heirloom Tomatoes and Burrata - Smoked Crispy Chicharrons (this was a table favorite, tasted like candied bacon) - Maine Lobster Ajillo (One of my favorites! I had it prepared as the menu specified, and my friend had them make it less spicy with no paprika or peppers. Both were wonderful.) I've seen a lot of complaints about the prices, but I didn't think it was overpriced at all. However, there are very few nice restaurants in St Pete Beach, so I can see how people in the area may consider it expensive simply because most local restaurants are VERY inexpensive. To put things in perspective, the most expensive entree (as of today) is the prime tenderloin for $35 (including sides.) The rest of the entrees ranged from $21-29, and the lobster ajillo was only $11. Our final bill, including wine and cocktails, came out to about $55 per person, and I thought it was worth every penny! There was one issue ... when we walked in, a couple was engaged in some pretty graphic behavior. It was clearly making many people in the bar area uncomfortable. That's not exactly the fault of the restaurant, and the staff was all fairly new and unsure of how to handle it. I'm betting there was a meeting after closing to determine how to handle that in future! Thanks, Castile and Hotel Zamora, for bringing another upscale restaurant to our beautiful beach! I wish the rooftop deck was open and that they served their lunch menu vs their kinda boring breakfast/brunch menu and that the hostess wasn't so gruff but overall it's a cool restaurant and our server was sweet. It was annoying to have to wait for an outside table since we were one of 4 others in the entire restaurant. We had the beignets and the parfait and the burata. All were pretty good. What a great place. We have been here twice now. Once for brunch and once for lunch. The food they serve has always been excellently prepared, servers are very friendly and take care of everything you need and prices are pretty decent. A word about the food - I'm a bit old fashioned in my tastes, I like simple - my fiancé on the other hand loves a mix of flavors with all kinds of different things going. This is HER type of place. It's very very good, but there a LOT of different flavors going on. My suggestion - try the chicharron. You won't be disappointed. read more

Waitstaff that was either uninterested, absent, or high or inebriated. The kitchen waiter almost nodded out on our table while serving the entrees. The waitress came back once to give us more drinks, and water as we were handing over our finished entrees to leave. If it wasn't attached to a hotel I doubt it would survive long. read more

I invited my aunts with a great recommendation from my last visit and it was a complete disaster, I was so embarrassed my suggested restaurant was a fail. 1.40 hours waits time and when we sat more than half of the restaurant was empty (not sure why kept us waiting that long) then nobody came to the table in about 20 more minutes. Food took so long we weren't even hungry. Sent back a plate that had a unpleasant taste and they didn't even had a courtesy with the table. We were celebrating a Birthday and Engagement .Although our first plates came out cold and undercooked she was super compassionate and escalated our dissatisfaction to the manager who was also accommodating and had the chef replace our plates. Worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I showed up with a party of 9 and had reservations for 10. After 20 minutes of not acknowledging us at all and taking a reservation to seat 4 in front of us, we were told to sit at the bar until our table was ready. 25 minutes later, we were on the way to the table. Keep in mind, the restaurant was probably at 20% capacity. After arriving at the table, we were not acknowledged by a waitress at all. After 15 minutes, we stopped someone to ask for bread and and water. A few minutes later, a waitress showed up to pour water and take appetizer choices. 30 minutes later, the appetizers came and we put in our entree orders. It's now 8:45...a full hour and 15 minutes after we were supposed to be seated. None of the drinks are refreshed and we continue to wait another 30 minutes when the Manager comes to our table. No apology or explanation was given for the service to this point. Instead, the Manager informed us the restaurant didn't have Branzino that night and the three of us who ordered it would need to pick something else...at 9:15...after we had been there for almost 2 hours. Clearly, our food hasn't even started being prepared at this point. We changed our orders and continued to wait another 30 minutes before asking to be closed out. The manager assured us that our food would be out in a few minutes, but we were running late for another engagement and had to leave. It was 9:45. I picked this restaurant to celebrate my 40th birthday and chose it mainly for the Branzino. Luckily, I was with good friends at the table who didn't let Castile impact our good time. However, Castile ruined my dinner experience on a very special day to me. They comped our appetizers and drinks, which was the least they could do. This is the first ever review I've ever left for anything, but I couldn't say nothing. This is an expensive restaurant and my table would most likely have spent upwards of 700-800 dollars on dinner, drinks, and desserts. For those prices, their utter disregard for us can not be ignored or accepted. Thanks to Castile, a very important day in my life was partially ruined by their carelessness and deplorable service. The moment my boyfriend and I walked in, we were instantly impressed. Not only by the ambiance, but by the friendliness of the staff! We were seated at an intimate two-person booth with a direct view of the open kitchen. When the expediter came out of the kitchen with these beautiful donuts, I was captivated! We asked about them and she brought over two of them for us to sample without us even asking. A little gesture like that is so impactful. (Btw they were amazing and I highly recommend them). Our waitress Kirsten went above and beyond and met every one of our needs. She provided excellent service and was very personable. Kirsten also gave us a list of places to check out while visiting. When we asked her to take a picture of us, she initiated photographer-mode which was much appreciated. I really can't explain how happy I am with my visit to this restaurant. Last Saturday November 18, we had a small wedding dinner at the restaurant. When i made the reservation the manager asked what we were celebrating and I told him we were getting married that day and wanted to take our friends and family there for dinner. Well he told me he would make sure that everything would be perfect and we would have a special menu. We get there the day of the event and mind you there were 3 large weddings going on and let me tell you they never missed a beat. Drink were amazing and the food out of this world. The servers were very attentive and understanding about all of our needs. I was worried that the service would be bad because of the other groups but nope. We felt right at home. I was very pleased with the menu that they chose since it appealed to all of our friends. This is a restaurant and hotel we love going back to. And they definitely made my wedding day memorable. Good food, terrible atmosphere. For a pricey restaurant there were no table clothes, no bread, no water, no salt and pepper on the table. Super noisey and $12 for a glass of J Lohr made things worse. There is a reason that the Castile Restaurant at Hotel Zamora has been offering $59 dinners for two on Travelzoo since September 2018 and at least as recently as February 2019. And the reason is poor management, limited staffing and apparently staff turnover. We decided to start with a cocktail on the rooftop lounge. There was no wait staff so every one had to make their request at the bar (with only one person mixing). The magic price seemed to be $10 for a glass of wine or a regular cocktail. Thus there was no follow up service, snacks etc. Perhaps all the drinks are $10 because they can't find any wait staff to serve their very limited clientele. The restaurant service and food was inconsistent. All of the diners were seated in a fairly limited space--although there was additional dark space across the room. We were one of the first couples seated. My husband gave our server a $20 bill at the beginning so she would not think that because we had a Travelzoo voucher we would skimp on the tip. A business group of 10 or so were seated close and directly across from us. As time went on the group got louder & louder & our server busier & busier. By the end of the meal we spoke to the manager who looked pained but had nothing to offer us but--"we get large groups too. " read more

This was one of our favorite boat-to lunch/brunch spots a few years ago when we lived here so we decided a vacation Sunday brunch would be perfect. After fighting through four large dogs to get to the restaurant (apparently it's pet friendly now), then hunting down someone to seat us in an almost completely empty restaurant around noon, the hostess gave us one menu and disappeared. Simple printed menus but even the 3-top table only got one menu. Waiter was great but my $12 mimosa was minuscule, my poached eggs were hard boiled, and the second round had shells in it. A few more tables wandered in while we were there but what used to be jam packed dock spaces were completely empty the whole time. Local boaters love good restaurants they can boat to so just another very sad sign of how far the restaurant has fallen. Perhaps dinner is better but we won't be trying it again. read more

This place was okay. Our server didn't seem to know much about the menu (maybe he was new) so we just started googling things instead of asking. The beef tenderloin was AMAZING. The chicken dish, not so much. They accidentally gave us the black risotto, which wasn't great. Pretty expensive for quality but nice ambiance. May try again when it's cooler in order to sit outside and enjoy the view. read more
