the sales rep was great nice guy. the truck we got a Denali was poorly made for the amount of money we bought it for . this on the inside are coming apart, like speakers handle covers the rug is not tucked in correctly . the car needs an align we notice that's week after we got it and also a olaye on the back of the steering wheel is broken. took it in yesterday to finally have them out the plate on the ha and whoever drove my car during service hit the truck the service person matt told me my car was hit and they would take care of it but I needed to leave the car with them for a week that they would replace bumper and light we tried talking to manager but he seemes uninterested in talking to us, while I was in his office he was more worried about his paperwork on his desk than talking to us once we told him we needed some type compensation he said there wasn't any besides them fixing the car but the car will depreciate and what that will be on us . We left our number for the gm to call us and nothing so far you would think that either this happens all the time or they don't really find the importance of speaking with us at all . My father in-law went here yesterday to get an oil change and tire rotation, he was told at 12,000 miles that he needs a Maintenance Package 1, which cost him after taxes $168.00. I called around to other GMC dealers and they stated they will start looking at main things around 25,000 miles. I called to speak with AJ in the service department and he said that due to mileage he needed this service...which is bull. I explained that he took advantage of a great customer yesterday. One that has purchased at least 3 SUV's from this dealer. HE IS ALSO JUST LEASING THIS VEHICLE! Well AJ didn't like me saying this and hung up on me. I bought my vehicle from Castle Chevy. One of the perks was that I'd have free oil changes for the life of my vehicle. Today I brought my truck in for a free oil change at Castle Buick. They wanted to charge me for the oil change and said they no longer give free oil changes. I asked why I wasn't notified of that when I brought it in for the last oil change. The Man Behind The Desk said that I should have been notified. I agreed with him and told him I was not notified and that is the first problem. The second problem is that I bought this car with an agreement we'd have oil changes for the life of the vehicle. Castle does not stand by their word. I bought a used Mazda 5 from them about a month ago. I felt I was getting a good car at a reasonable price. When I test drove it there was some shaking in the steering and there was a bit of a mess in the back storage compartment. They said that they would resolve this. I also asked if the recall had been taken care of on the vehicle and they stated that it had. When they gave me the car to take home the mess was not cleaned up, they said that they couldn't get it clean, and they said that the steering issue was resolved. On my hour drive home I realized that the steering was still shaking. I figured that I could take care of the mess. Over the next few days I saw that the engine was leaking oil and since the steering was still an issue I thought it would be best to take it back to Castle to take a look at the steering again and have the oil issue checked out. After I made the hour drive to the dealer I explained to the service department my issues and even the mess in the storage console in the back. They said that they would take care of everything and I would be all set. After I waited for over six hours I got my car back with them telling me that it was done. They said that they replaced a cover for an oil filter and re balances the tires and I should be good. On my hour drive home the car was still shaking, the mess was not cleaned and over the next couple of days the cardboard box I put under the car had a fresh pool of oil. I took the car to a Mazda Dealer and they told me what was wrong with my car. The cover of the oil filter had a crack in it, my front rims were bent so I needed new front wheels, the transmission fluid was filthy and the ignition system needed to be cleaned. I had the oil filter cover taken care of at Mazda and they did a great job but everything else I had done at Sears and they did a great job. Mazda also informed me that the recall was not taken care of for this vehicle so I had them take care of that also. I called Castle and explained to them that they did nothing and their response was what do I want them to do about it. I had no answer because I wasn't going to take it to the service department again because my confidence in their honor was shot and it was obvious that they did not care about the time and money I was going to have to put into the car. So after I spent over $1400 to get the car to a level that I felt comfortable letting my wife drive the car is wonderful. I think it would probably have cost the dealer less than $800 to fix the issues and they could have charged a couple of thousand more for the car and shown that they take pride in their dealership and the way they take care of their customers. I do not recommend them and I would have the car inspected by another dealer before I bought from them. Thank you. read more

Bought my car (brand new) from here about a year ago. It's a piece of crap and when it rains water leaks inside the car in TWO different places. I've tried to have service to fix the problem however they are extremely unaccommodating. There is no such thing as a courtesy car and they would not allow me to bring it in on a Saturday. Bought my car in July 2017, I finally got my spare key not too long ago after several days of calling different people. I was given the "Castle Difference" which came with free oil changes for life. I wasnt informed that in December 2017 that no longer applies despite being there 2 times for service and being in contact with a representative 3 times for appointments. Drove 30 miles there only to find out it's now $40 for an oil change. Now their website doesnt offer free tires for life with their "Castle Difference". Not only will they low ball the hell out of you, they will take further advantage of you if you don't know what your car is worth, what the cost of repair is, and are desperate to sell. Don't buy into it. I was told my car has "significant steering wheel damage" and "bald tires" to justify their atrocious offer of $1,000 on a car I see dealers sell for $10,000 with my same low miles. The "steering" damage is really a $80 strut repair cost (without labor) and my tires are not anything close to bald. I went in knowing exactly what issues my car has and the only reason I didn't fix myself is because I am planning to sell and disclose all the needed repairs which are not significant. To top it all off, the woman was terribly rude and acted offended when I said it's not an offer I would even consider. I came here today and had the worst experience ever at any Buick dealership. I usually get my oil changed at the lincolnwood location however they were completely booked for today. I decided to go online at Castle and schedule my appointment, I chose the 59.99 package which included tire rotation, inspection, and 6quart oil change and filter. When I get here the service guy tried to charge me extra 30.00 for the tire rotation saying it was NOT included however there is a huge sign behind him saying 59.99 for oil change and tire rotation etc. After my husband pointed it out to him he said OH ok. It's not about the money it the principal, terrible service. Also he had a huge attitude when we inquired about where the waiting room was. If he was having a bad day he should have taken the day off not come in and try to swindle us for an extra 30 bucks and give us attitude. I recently purchased a 2010 Pontiac G6 from Castle. I discovered them after searching the internet for days to find the best prices on used cars out there. Castle was by far the lowest price in the Chicago area, and by that I mean the next best was about $2000 higher for a comparable vehicle. Because it was the lowest price out there, I wasn't expecting much when I went there, I was just happy I was going to get a great deal. This is the point when they really earned the 5-star rating. This was one of the most relaxing and stress free purchases I've made in my life. They were very up front with everything and not pushy about anything. Quick note for those 'master negotiators' out there: Castle is not the type of place that you're going to enjoy, and I'm not saying this to knock Castle, I'm saying this because you will probably end up aggravated. They have their prices about as low as you can get, especially in my case. I always do my homework, and the KBB/Edmunds value for the car I picked out was about $4k higher than what I paid. And yes, I realize that it's a down economy and prices will probably be lower than KBB to sell, but it wasn't the case at most every other dealership I researched. They're not trying to cheat you, they're trying to sell cars and run a customer friendly business without the haggling. Everyone from my salesman, Mike, to their Customer Relations Manager, Ed, I was impressed with. They even promised that if I discovered something wrong about the car after I got it home, I could bring it back in and they would take care of it for me, no charge because they guaranteed the quality of their used vehicles. To be completely honest, I've heard that one before, but this was the first time I believed it. On top of selling me a car, as a new resident to Chicago, Mike gave me some amazing advice of tucked away restaurants that only a true native of Chicago would know about, and when I mentioned to Ed that I needed a tire fixed on my other car, he went online and printed me out directions and reviews to a place he knew, and they were every bit as good as he said they would be. Another quick note, Castle does not provide Carfax reports for used cars, but they do have an Autocheck Vehicle Report, which I was told by them was more detailed. As I said before, I always do my homework, so prior to buying the vehicle, I purchased a Carfax for the G6. Just as they said, it was every bit as accurate as the Carfax so don't be worried! I would highly recommend Castle Buick to anyone looking to buy a new or used car, especially to people that want to avoid the traditional car dealership experience. You should feel good when you're buying a car, and the team at Castle definitely does their best to make it as easy and enjoyable as possible. read more

I just purchased a 2010 GMC Terrain as a second car. I have bought many cars, from many top notch dealers, BMW's primarily. My experience at Castle was by far the most pleasurable than any previously. I negotiated the sales price and trade-in value over the phone. When I arrived expecting a bait and switch of some sort, it was exactly as we had discussed. What a nice surprise! They were down to earth, unpretentious, and fun. When the deal was sealed, our salesman rallied the staff for some congratulations and pomp and circumstance (horn honking, spinning of a prize wheel - I won a Wii!!). No one took things too seriously. We were in an out in less than an hour, although we were not financing. The facilities are dated and do not compare in accomodiations with the higher-end car dealers. But what was important to me is I left with a smile. read more

When I called to make an appointment for their 2 hour wait to get your oil change I was told that it is no longer free despite that I was told I would have free oil changes when I purchased my vehicle. I then asked to have them email me my contact and the lady connected me to a dead line that went straight to a voicemail, when I called back the phone kept ringing so I hung up and called again then I was put on hold for over 8 minutes so I just hung up. When I bought the vehicle I was told by the salesperson and it was confirmed by the owner or manager (named Joe) that I would have free oil changes for the life of the vehicle. So either the contract has a clause that says that after a certain amount of time there would be no more free oil changes or they just decided to break the contract. Started out with a very friendly salesman that showed me the SUVs I wanted to see and provided good servicing. However when the price negotiations started and he brought in his manager things changed. The manager was constantly changing the story (in other words LYING) to not give a discount. I just purchased a vehicle here and am so glad I found the car, but had a horrible customer experience. The car I wanted was tough to find, so I drove 90 minutes each way to test drive it. We were told that we would be able to put the car on a lift to inspect underneath, but when we got there at our scheduled time, we were then informed that the mechanics had already left for the day and the bay was closed. When we later expressed concern about a noise in the front end, we were told it could be addressed by the remaining manufacturer's warranty, which still had about a year on it; after we paid our down payment and went to sign final docs, though, we were told that there was no remaining warranty and we should purchase warranty from them. Salesman said he had been "guessing" that there was a year left on manufacturer's. Brian, the man who seemed to be in charge of upgrade sales and paperwork, was extremely condescending, especially when we expressed frustration over being misled about the warranty; he asked why we would drive 90 minutes out here and then pass on the car because of a warranty we didn't even initially know it had. I explained that we had heard a noise in the car and weren't able to use the lift we reserved to check it out and asked if he could understand how that makes the manufacturers warranty an important factor, to which he responded, "No, not really." We did end up having 3 months of warranty left to get the noise addressed and did purchase the car, but our business didn't seem to have any value to the staff and we were repeatedly misled and brushed off. I found a car on their website and called to make a very fair offer on the vehicle. I was told it was a fair offer and that the manager Virgil was going to work out the numbers with the GM. I got a call back and they were charging over $3,000 in taxes on a $20,997 vehicle!! This made no sense and I questioned Virgil on it and he was clueless!! I was told the GM would call me back to go through the numbers. Well, never got a call back,I called back two times And left messages for the GM Corey and still no call back called again and got Corey on the phone. He said he knew nothing of it and would be calling me back in 10 minutes with more info, this was at 6pm at night and never got a call back. At 10 am the next morning I call back and the GM was to busy to talk, I told them I was filing complaints with the BBB and the state next thing Corey could talk. Corey told me they couldn't just give away cars for what people offer and came back with a new number not realizing I offered a little more than what he was now saying the price was. It's completely B.S. and you can't talk to anyone higher than Corey who's unprofessional and bad for business. I'm livid I have the messages from the manager stating the car is 24,000. They tried to gouge me in the price and got caught. Go anywhere but here to buy a car. They suck I dealt with Tyler in sales who was super nice. Virgil in sales who doesn't know how to add numbers, Joe in the finance Department is the one who worked out the numbers to gouge me (never spoke to him) and had Virgil call me back with it. And Corey the GM who's not only unapologetic for the mistakes the dealership made but is a huge smart ass and totally unprofessional. I will be filing complaints with the state since the gouged price was left on my voicemail. Not only did I have to call a ridiculous amount of times about their mistake but they were total jerks about it. Last week I had the worst experience ever in a dealership and I had previously purchased a vehicle from this dealership. I passed 3 other GMC/Buick Dealerships to come back here and was treated like $h!t. I went on the website, went through the process of valuing my trade-in, get a call and I told them that I was going to follow through because the price given via the website was not good enough. They convinced me to come in and go through the on-site evaluation of my vehicle and when Tom went to go test drive my vehicle (I watched) he walked around the vehicle and upon seeing my 1st Responder sticker in the windshield just walked back in. Tom was happy and very outgoing prior to seeing my sticker. He walked back in, through the other door that did not go past me, and went into his office. He then began covering his face with a piece of paper (like a head football coach calling in plays) to talk about me, to the others. He then sent out his lackey and offered me less than they had through the website for my car. And when I said I told Alex not waste my time like this and I did not appreciate this, the lackey went back to Tom and was then yelled at, guess Tom thinks being a loudmouth makes you a tough guy. Had a bad experience selling a used car to this dealership. I found them through the KBB instant offer program. Once I brought my car in they pulled the usual used car negotiating tactics - offering a price well below the KBB indicated value. To be clear this was a good used car - a Toyota Sienna with less than 50k miles with a single owner. We did agree on a price but they wouldn't pay me right away claiming that waiting three business days was standard. This was despite the fact I signed over a clear title that day! No check by day 3 and I had to call multiple times to get money owed to me. It finally came a full week after I delivered the car to them. I really questioned this dealership's ethics and considered what legal steps I may have had to take to get money owed to me. Be careful with these guys. read more

I was interested in a car they had. The representative that helped us out was nice. And when we headed back into the office to talk about numbers and what the walk out price would be. My boyfriend tried to see if they could lower the original price of the vehicle. The representative only budged $300 lower than what the car was listed for. He told us to hold on for a moment. Out came the representatives boss. He came toward us really aggressive. He did not look at me or shake my hand. (I was he one interested in buying the car) He only greeted my boyfriend, shook his hand and only looked at him while he was talking. He looked angry and aggressive as he talked to him. He pretty much repeated what the representative had told us which was fine. We said we were going to look elsewhere. The problem was the lack of customer service involved with the boss. He had none and was very rude when he spoke to us. There is a way to speak to customers and at least show some type of courtesy or manners. We definitely did not feel welcome after that interaction. The service here is horrible! After getting an oil change they mentioned I need brakes. I got my breaks fixed by them and shortly after I felt a vibration when I accelerate over 30 mph. I took it in, and of course they don't have a rental nor any one to drive me. I have 2 kids with me and one is in a car seat! They tell me I need new tires it will be $1250. I shopped around and got them. Vibration still occurring. Go back and they say they can't find what's wrong!! No rental again. Finally they say it was a wheel baring. Now they need to order the part. Ok, how long? A few days. Nope 3 weeks and no one called me. I called and the part was in. Make another appointment and no rental. Before they fixed the wheel baring I really didn't feel the vibration. I think something was loose when they fixed the breaks. Needless to say paying 70k for a new car the service is terrible. We purchased a 2015 GMC Acadia SLE-2. Tom was the salesperson that helped us and was professional, courteous, nice, and most of all, patient with us the entire time and experience. This was our family's first purchase of a new vehicle and Tom, along with the Castle staff, set the bar pretty high. We had some very specific criteria for the Acadia we wanted to purchase. Unfortunately, Castle did not have the exact configuration we wanted on the lot, but they took the time to scour the area and surrounding states for a vehicle that fit our needs.
