I read lost of reviews that this places smells strongly of cleaning chemicals, that is indeed true. It was the first thing we noticed as soon as we walked in. I have been here once before at least 5 years ago, and was finally back in the area and was looking forward to the warm cookie dough topping on my ice cream. I was so happy to see that they still have it! I got a small mint oreo topped with the warm cookie dough, it was very messy and you got to be prepared to eat it quickly as the cookie dough melts the ice cream. I got 3 kiddie soft serve in a dish and it was $21 total. I have no idea how it totaled that much since the board said $4.15 each. The man took my card and didn't show me tax or tip so I am still confused how it became that expensive. read more

This used to be a great place. The owner was always there. HOWEVER, when management stops paying attention, the quality goes down. I've been meaning to get to this review for a while. I went in with my best friend and i've come a couple times with him before, the owner was there the first couple times and he is super friendly. My review is not directed towards him, he is the reason they get one extra star! The employees are shit. The last time I walked in with my friend, he knew one that has been there for a while, maybe in her late twenties, she was very friendly to him and even a bit flirtatious. He ordered a small for himself and the ice cream went well over his cup, it was the size of a small at Treadwells or Richardson's. I stood forward to order separately and I got a very cold stare and not even a hello. I ordered a small for myself and my mother and I got two tiny scoops of ice cream for the price of $4.00, I could have gone to a different shop or gotten a tub at stop and shop for the same $8.00 I spent there. I was nothing but kind and full of smiles for these girls. The second girl was not as harsh, she seemed new and followed the older girl's footsteps. Jealously is an ugly trait. I understand it exists, but please tell your employees to not assume people's roles to one another and to not get in their feelings about things. Many friends of mine go here and I have a couple good memories here, too bad they'll now be associated with this experience. read more

The ice cream, frappes, etc are quite tasty. Service is good. Fun inviting atmosphere. However, there is always a very strong over-powering pungent odor of cleaning supplies, which has been the case for the 20 years we've lived in Marblehead; at the old location on School St and even more so at current location. Totally ruins everything good about the place. After years of not going there, my daughter persuaded me to get ice cream, and sure enough, the extreme pungent smell of cleaning supplies still remains. This review has nothing to do with Covid. Terry's had adequate staff when I arrived for an ice cream. Why I'm giving them a poor review is due to two things. 1. Their advertised posted prices were not what they charged for their product. Price was much higher. Don't give me the excuse that the owner hasn't updated things yet. Love this ice cream shop! The ice cream is delicious, and I've had only good interactions with the employees. They're open later than everything else in Marblehead, so that's refreshing. This place gets a zero! The old man that works here is so rude and disgusting. First the child I babysit dropped her ice cream and he made me pay for a second. Rude. Then he had an adult swim show on where they were talking about sex. I told him the show was inappropriate for children and he said that's how we teach kids things yelling at me. Then he said why don't you teach your kids how to clean up after themselves and throw the ice cream up away that they left on the table. Mind you it was the empty ice cream cup that had fallen prior. So I work in the area and I've been dying to visit. I ordered and I sat outside to eat my ice cream. As I was eating my Icecream, a man takes out the trash and picks up the napkins that were scattered because it was a lil windy out. Then he hops in their Icecream truck, parks it in the back, and continues to talk to this other woman who was outside. He eventually walks right inside and starts serving Icecream. He served my Icecream and he dug his whole hand in the tub. I was concerned from the beginning which is why I was curious. I walked inside and I asked for the manager, the young lady pointed at the guy that served my Icecream. I explained to him what I saw he insisted he washed his hands and he pointed to the bathroom but I watched him the whole time. Sorry not sorry read more
