Delicious ice cream! We stopped here randomly looking for ice cream. My daughter saw the sign and we got in at 8:55, right before closing (lucky)! My kids got the Cookie Monster and the small waffle cone--they were still huge! My sister got the peach (seasonal) and she said it was delish! I got the pistachio and it was bomb. They have a eating area and even though it was cold out, it was still a nice area to sit and enjoy the ice cream and not worry about making a huge mess (it does melt if not eaten fast enough kids lol). I was pleasantly surprised to find that they carry Grapenut icecream - a classic milk and cereal icecream that has largely faded from grocery store shelves. This place has the very best of it that I have ever had. What's more, I know they make it from scratch because it's slightly different each time, but always delicious. I took a multiple-decade hiatus (I moved to Cali) but just went back to Russ's and it was no less wicked pissah than it had been back in the day. The Peppermint Stick is TDF as is the Bubble Gum I Scream. The prices are right and they hand-pack the "qwatz" and pints to "tao-ah" above the top of the "con-tain-ah" and wrap wax "pay-pah" around and then slap on the lid for a HUGE overfilled tub. They got many flavors of homemade I Scream (and FroYo) as well as soft serve and sundaes with pineapple and marshmallow toppings and all the New England classics. I ordered the kitchen sink and it was very good. For some reason there seems to be more toppings than listed on the board that I wish I knew about beforehand, but I had no problem with the service and I shared the whole thing with my monstrous family. It stuffed all five of us, could probably split it between some more people.
