The girl in the front is like a deer in headlights and doesn't seem to know what is going on! Completely wasted my time coming for my NEW PATIENT appointment and not getting anything done! They called me a day before to confirm my appointment and I told her at that time I was declining xrays being that I was 8 months pregnant, get to my appointment and the tech calls me for xrays and it was all downhill from there! One star is Too high for this operation. Have tried to work with them the last few months getting a lower denture fixed. Delay after delay only to find out they TOTALLY MISLEAD us on procedure and after initial work of $1800 they came back with another charge of over $6,000 making a total of $9000 for a lower denture replacement, totally absurd! Felt we were undersold on cost to get us in a position the complete the work at a much higher cost. Am in process of filing compliant with Texas dental board and legal representation.. Friendly staff, service pretty good, my new dental work was not checked for my adjusted bite though. However, payment was a nightmare. I waited for over 30 minutes to pay - in full - at the time of service to check out. I have decent dental insurance. The woman who does the accounting was flustered and kept changing codes and rates the whole time. Since I had gone in when a crown fell off and ended up having a new bridge put in, it cost considerably more than I had prepared for. However, I covered the cost in full. Then when I went to their periodontist in Round Rock I was told I had overpaid by $474.15! That's quite an overpayment that NO ONE had told me about. I requested a refund in full, and it took several phone calls, and three weeks to get a check, but in the meantime, I had two calls from their accounting office asking me the same question: I have $274. overpayment on my account and do I STILL want a refund? Worst accounting I've ever experience with any business ever. I'll have to think long about using them again since the periodontist wasn't impressive at all. Her estimate ultimately ran upwards of around $13k or so and close to a year and a half with a couple of implants and communicating with her was difficult. read more

I had a 9:00 appointment, arrived 10 minutes early with all my New Patient paperwork. I have a personal 15 minute wait policy but gave them a little extra time. About 9:25 they called me back but the X-ray room was being used. So I went back into the sitting area. Around 9:45 I decided to call it quits and politely told the receptionist, who was very nice, that I was cancelling. She asked if I wanted to reschedule which I declined. 10 minutes later they called me while in my car asking again if i wanted to reschedule which I again declined. Though they apologized, no extra effort was offered. Other things I observed. When I entered there was some obvious drama going on. 3 employees were discussing something that should have probably been more discreet. I don't know the content but the vibe was a bit heavy. The clock in the office is 5 minutes fast. A patient was having billing issues and was told it would take 4-6 weeks to get her a refund. The office manager was not in ... at 9:00 in the morning??? All these things added up to me that it wasn't going to get any better. This obviously does not attest to the dental care as I never made it that far. Overall assessment is though the staff seemed friendly, the disorganization is at a fairly high level. read more

I made a yelp just so I can leave this review. I haven't been able to see the dentist in over a year because they have canceled my appointment THREE TIMES and did NOT notify me. The first two times I drove all the way to the location for them to make me schedule another 2-6 months out. First time, hygienist was sick, second time, hygienist is on vacation. When I asked about why I was not notified, the manager said my information must have been wrong but they read all my information back to me correctly. I was out of town and drove over an hour to get to my appointment. Today I called and again it was canceled because they were "too booked". I've only had one experience in the back and the hygienist was amazing. They lack communication and technology skills at the front desk. I have been coming to Castle Dental for several years. They do decent work. However, I started waking up to their upcoding and add-ons after carefully reviewing the details of my dental insurance and my EOBs. The dentist decided that I needed perio maintenance instead of a regular cleaning. Of course, that bills much higher. The first perio maintenance cleaning took longer than a normal cleaning. Every cleaning since then just seemed to be a normal cleaning yet was billed as perio maintenance. Further, because it was perio maintenance, they require "oral irrigation," which isn't even covered by insurance. Oral irrigation had been $80 out of pocket at my last visit, but they settled for $40 after I complained. Today, they wanted $120. They also like to add $25 out of pocket for oral cancer screening and $25 out of pocket for fluoride treatment, which went up to $50 today. On my insurance, fluoride treatment is only covered for kids, which likely means it isn't needed for adults. So, I canceled before my appointment began. Any services that aren't covered by insurance should only be "recommended" and totally optional and should not be required. Let me buy the product I want, not what you demand to sell. I'm now searching for a dentist that doesn't upsell and upcode. read more

Roberta the office manager is friendly, professional and knowledgeable re insurances etc. Tammy the hygienist is so thorough and professional, and explains ways to improve flossing. I have gone to Castle Dental on Williams drive for years. However, lately I could not get an answer to the phone when I called after getting a notice that check up was due. They suggested that I go online to make a reservation. I did so and was not able to make one but was told that " we will contact you soon for an appointment" After 2 weeks with not call, I just switched to Carus for my check up/cleaning. Don't know what is going on with Castle, but they will soon lose all their business if a person can't make an appointment. read more

I wasn't expecting a very good experience for $29, but (thankfully) I was wrong! I got an appointment set, then, went a little early with my new-patient paperwork already filled out. I received a friendly greeting and was advised staff would be back from lunch and ready for me in 15 min, as scheduled. Since I was close to the HEB gas station, and needed gas, I asked to get that taken care of and was told, "no problem." Yay - 1 errand down and no time lost. The x-rays were done very quickly and thoroughly with up-to-date equipment. (I'm no expert but at Omni Dental they still used the painful cardboard film holders.) :-/ Mateo and the dental assistant (sorry I didn't catch her name) went through the gum line check for pockets or issues. I was surprised to be offered an opportunity for oral cancer screening for only $45! Sounded like a great deal! After the exam, I was advised that a patient hadn't shown for a cleaning, and if I wanted, I could wait about 20 min and get my teeth cleaned today! So many doctors and dentists don't seem to respect the value of their patients' time. Of course the medical and dental professionals' time is valuable, but so is mine (Usually. Like when I have a job I'm taking time off from to go to appointments, where I've been kept waiting for 30 min or more!) The office manager offered that I could go to the store if I could be back in 20 min. No problem! I got the few things I needed, even stopped at the bank and got back just in time. No one really likes being scolded about their dental hygiene but Mateo made it feel like I was just getting some really good tips on how to get the floss between my extremely tight teeth. :-) He was thorough, friendly, and it felt like the water used during the cleaning was nice and warm... not cold... until the rinse. I adore Dr. foster. Of Georgetown TX. Her affect, demeanor is top-notch. She is an awesome Dentist. I mean sensational!!!!!!!! I would have stayed with her until our time ran out as Dr and Patient.  After my 1st visit and approval for my family, she would be an awesome Dr. for all of us!.  I scheduled. With an introduced appointment, my son, my wife, myself, we were on our way scheduled appointments!  In the meantime, getting through the office manager has been a challenge. She argues with me. And she pulls you in making you argue it's so bizarre, I cannot get her to explain to me my treatment plan, their exact pricing, correspondence of insurance information and anything beyond the Doctor.  Dr. Foster prescribed a plan and I wanted to buy into it! And was!!!!!! What is disheartening is she the office manger herself admitted just yesterday she dropped the ball and didn't explain things accurately. The office managers' customer service skills make you feel so unwelcome. Your left seeking alternatives to another dentist and business that will accept you as a guest or customer. Or left seeking out to find if Dr. Foster has another clinic that you can attend.  I did the unthinkable and missed my appt. But, I cannot go back to a place where the office mgr, who takes your payment, files your policy and schedules you make you feel unwanted and unwelcome. I have extreme anxiety when going to the dentist. I felt welcomed, comfortable, and felt like everything was explained to me in a way that I could understand (even when I was still a little loopy from gas) I had two wisdom teeth removed on one side with anesthetic and gas. I had a little scare last night when my mouth was coagulating but not hard clotting, but this morning all I feel is a little sore. Doing some mouth exercises to keep my upper jaw from feeling stiff, but so far, I've only had to take one ibuprofen. I feel like the dentist did a wonderful job at doing what needed to be done, without over traumatizing the area. I don't know if something happened in the past year with Castle, but their level of service, and ability to keep appointments is deplorable. Last week, the appointment I made months prior was rescheduled the day of. I had to change my entire work schedule the day before I went out of town in order to make the appointment. During that appointment, I experienced the most painful dental cleaning I have ever had. (I had some gingivitis so needed a deeper cleaning) I've had this before, and was never tortured to the level I was that day. My jaw was wrenched so hard I could only eat soup for the next 24 hours. I was choked by having my tongue forced into the back of my throat, and repeatedly stabbed with the cleaning tool. I was lying there with my fists clenched and tears running down my face from the pain. I have a very high pain tolerance, having walked around with a ruptured appendix resulting in an abscess the size of a grapefruit for a week before being rushed to the hospital. This morning, I get a call from Castle to reschedule the appointments for both of my children set for TODAY. Appointments I made months ago. I took off work this afternoon for the appointment, and made sure I didn't have any client appointments. This is an unacceptable business practice. So I'm finding a new dentist for my children, one that respects not only my time, but takes care with my physical comfort. They seem to work fine for my husband, but for us, we'll take our money elsewhere. read more

Heads up! dear people in Georgetown. Castle Dental in town is ripping off their patients , front desk do not bother to deal with Dental insurance you might have . Front desk they just give you lame excuses about your dental insurance that said it will take 24 hours to get approved. At the end of the dental service, you ended up paying out of pocket the whole dental service expense. Front desk is very incompetent and lazy to perform to do their job correctly. I go to Castle Dental Georgetown for orthodontia. The experience has been frustrating. Things have been hard for most businesses during COVID, so as clients, we should certainly be patient, but Castle Dental is not doing the things they need to fix their problems. Many of the staff have turned over, so these problems are not strictly the responsibility of the current staff. Other reviewers have given details about their difficult experiences with Castle, so I won't list all of mine here. When you get braces, or when your child gets braces, you are signing up for a long relationship with a dental office. Look for an office with great, recent reviews. I recently signed up for Humana Dental Ins and had quite a bit of concern I could only go to HMO clinic. But I decided to try it. I choose Castle Dental on Williams St in Georgetown Tx because it was close to my house. I have say I was very impressed. I paid close attention to their sanitary protocol, the time waiting, and their professionalism. I have made three visits. There was no more than 5 min wait before being called in, everything was cleaned in front of me, Dr. Foster entered in timely manner, and the rest of the staff was also very professional. Dr. Foster and all of her dental team in the back are great! I've never had such a good visit with the dentist. I would give them 6 stars if I could! My issues are with the front desk staff and the repeated mistakes that are made when billing. In just one visit I was wrongly charged almost $2500. The lady running my credit card so it was because her figures were fat and laughed. In that same visit I was also double charged almost $500. Now here I am over a week later still waiting on my refund... The excuse I was given was that her boss hasn't pushed a button to push the refund through. When I asked to speak to her boss or for her name I was told that her name is "Rachel No last name" (literally what she said to me). I was also refused being allowed to speak with her. I continually get pushed off and given excuses as to why this I hadn't been corrected in over a week. Being out so much money during times that are difficult (COVID) for people is very hard for me to understand. I don't know about other locations, but the Castle Dental location in Georgetown on Williams Drive, in the HEB shopping center, is not a professional business. My guess is, since they are located close to Sun City, their main focus is on scamming money from older people. I say this because all they did when I brought all three of my kids in for their normal cleanings was try to upsell me on various unwanted procedures. To the point that I had to tell them more than once I do not want anything more than what I came in for. Also, like others here, we had to wait way past out appointment time for each one and even had to wait after getting placed in a seat. On a different but related note, a couple months ago, I get a phone call during dinner from someone claiming to be from Castle Dental and said I owed them over $100 and I need to pay them over the phone. I immediately said "no, I will not pay anyone over the phone" and asked for details. They couldn't tell me when the so-called procedure was done or even what was done that I needed to pay over $100 for. They did tell me the bill was over 90 days overdue and they had sent me multiple letters. I asked for the address they sent these letters to because I'd never gotten any letters from them. They told me and it was a different address in San Antonio. Not me! They insisted I pay, so I said I need them to send me the statement first. Well, I get a bill in the mail yesterday with just my kids name, the amount of $110, and a statement date of 10/15/2018. That's it. No details of what work was done or even what date it was done on. However, even though the statement date is only 8 days ago, it still says my account is over 90 days overdue. There is even a threat of getting a collection agency involved if I don't pay right away. I will be talking to someone in charge about this. But, regardless of the outcome, neither I nor my family will ever visit this place again. read more

Booked my first appointment. Downloaded 12 pages of new patient paperwork (2 medical, 10 pages of cover-your-butt lawyer stuff). Arrived 10 minutes early with all paperwork complete. I was greeted and signed in. I spotted at least 8 employees in the office who were having a great time visiting with one another, but apparently no one had the time to step into the waiting room and tell me that they were running behind. I scheduled my appointment for 7:30 am. I receive a call confirming my appointment the Wednesday before, the date and time are both wrong. The gentleman asks to have time to research and call me back, about an hour later he calls and says that he saw in the computer that it was for the date and time I had requested. I arrived at my appointment today at about 7:25. I turn in my pre-printed paperwork. The woman asks for my insurance information again because apparently it wasn't put in when I gave it to them over the phone. A little while later she tells me the reason they couldn't get pre-authorization was because my birthday had been put in wrong. I sit for about 15 minutes and then ask when i am going to be seen. The receptionist states about another 5-10 minutes putting my time at about 8 am. I ask how many people are in and she said one dental assistant, but there are already 3 patients in the back and the dentist hasn't even arrived yet. I asked when I would be seen by the dentist and she said not until about 8:15 - 8:30 am, an hour after my appointment. This place has no regard for their patients time or any consideration to inform them what is going on unless they ask. I cancelled my appointment and am now looking for a different dentist. Worst experience ever. Will never go back. Extremely rude staff, they treat you very condescendingly, roll their eyes and are unable to deviate from their spoken scripts set up by corporate. They only have ortho in once a month for appointments and wanted to charge us $450 for a lost plastic tray retainer. Not the wire one, one that is like a teeth whitening tray. I could not wait for my daughter to get out of her braces fast enough. I have been a patient of Dr. Saba Asrar of the Castle Dental Office located in Georgetown, TX for 2 years now and must say how AWESOME of an experience I have had there! Dr. Asrar is my orthodontist but I also want to give her Staff, Rakeisha, Brandy, Ms. Roberta a the front desk, and a few others whose names I haven't learned yet, kudos as well, for always being so polite, patient, and all smiles when I visit. Being a single Mother, there are even times when I had to bring my 4 year old daughter with me for quick adjustments to my braces and everyone made her feel so special by answering her little curious questions. Prior to getting my braces, I used to hear horror stories from people about their dental visits elsewhere, but even with my having BAD anxiety, I was made to feel very comfortable for each procedure completed in this office! Dr. Asrar always explains to me what she is going to do, prior to simply doing it, even taking breaks to ask if I am ok. Most times I am in and out of the office for adjustments within a half hour; therefore, it works with my schedule very well! As soon as I get my braces off in the coming weeks, I will definitely allow Dr. Asrar to put my son's braces on. I love the difference in my smile since getting braces a little over 18 months ago:) Upon leaving the office this afternoon, I made her laugh as I expressed to her that I would follow her to the Moon if she ever relocated:) Great job Dr. Asrar and I sincerely mean it from the bottom of my heart! Story time. The last paragraph sums it all up so that you don't have to read everything if you don't want to. My wife made 3 appts for our family to get cleanings. One at 7 for my son, one at 8 for me, and one at 9 for her. It was out first appt so I expected a little delay to get our new patient information input. We arrived at 6:40. The front desk was helpful and answered all of our questions. So far so good. My son gets called back around 7:40. His appt was for 7. I go back with him. He gets his x-rays and goes over and sits in the dentist chair. The assistant take pics of his teeth. Then we wait for the dentist. Around 8:35 she comes over to check him out. Takes all of 4 minutes. At around 9:15 my wife comes back for her x-rays. Her appt was scheduled for 9. Mine was at 8. I have yet to be seen. My wife gets her x-rays done. Then sits in the dental chair that my son was in. He is now waiting for his cleaning. My wife sits in the chair til around 9:45 when the dentist comes to see her. Which, again, takes about 4 minutes. I finally get x-rays close to 10. My appt was scheduled for 8. My son STARTS his cleaning around 10. To make a long story short, my son was done with his cleaning at 10:25. My wife and I didn't even get our cleanings. That's right. We made an appt for a cleaning. They did x-rays, we saw the dentist for about 2 minutes each, then we were told that they didn't have time to do our cleanings. So to recap... We arrived at 6:40 for 3 cleaning appts. We left around 10:30 with one cleaning done. We had to reschedule. Next available appt isn't until SEPTEMBER. Our original appt was MAY 21. When my wife called to make our very first appts, we were scheduled for the very next day. But now their next appt isn't for 4 months out. Seems legit. read more

We were looking for a new local dentist. We received a new patient solicitation from Castle Dental. The deal was X-rays, exam and cleaning for $29. My husband arrived for his appointment. X-rays were done and the dentist looked in his mouth but never picked up an instrument. She then tried to sell him veneers, fillings for teeth that had no cavities, and assorted other items. He declined. His teeth were NEVER CLEANED!!! I am in pursuit of a refund. This is classic bait and switch. Shameful! read more
