Small shop, each barber has their own area and it seems from previous reviews that the personal changes depending on the barber who is renting the space. My haircut was fine, but the cost was a lot higher than I am used to paying. I should have paid closer attention to other reviews that has mentioned it. Would I go here again? Having tried many barbers over the years Castle Rock Barbers has exceeded where others haven't. The interior and decor are tidy and up to date. The environment is always very quiet and relaxing. Best of all is Rebecca. A true artist who understands my hair after going through a multitude of both shops and the barbers themselves. Recently relocated to Castle Rock a few months ago. Was looking for a new barber for our son Because his old barber was in downtown Denver. We showed very detailed pictures of his normal cut and we were told that they could do it. Despite the lady being very kind and nice, unfortunately the hair cut was not even close to what we asked and needless to say we will never go back. It was not a super difficult cut either. First let me say that we loved this barber shop. Tyler was our go-to and he never disappointed. When he left, he recommend Bobby. The first haircut my kids received was not the best. But, we decided to give another chance. We booked an appt and that morning my husband needed to cancel my sons appts. I fully understand it was last min. I understand he was probably upset. But that doesn't excuse the text we received from him. 100% unprofessional. He had no idea the back story of why we cancelled. Hello, we live in COVID world now. It was just as easy to respond with a kind text (EXAMPLE: "I'm sorry you need to cancel. Is this due to illness? If not, I do have a cancellation policy and I would require some type of payment") - cool. Would've been happy to comply. What he chose to respond with is petty. My barber of choice for a long time now. Bobby is the best of the best. Many ladies have given me compliments. Recently, after 4 weeks in the hospital and another 3 weeks with an out of state caregiver (my daughter) I really felt shaggy and in dire need of a haircut. Bobby wasn't available but I tried the young lady who had the chair next to the door. As I am new to the area, I wanted to find a local barbershop that didn't cost a fortune but still gave me a great haircut. Castle Rock Barbers definitely fit the bill for both my needs and then some! I walked in on a Wednesday afternoon and was promptly greeted by Tyler and Cindy. I sat in Cindy's chair, explained what I wanted, and was then taken care of better than I have been by a barber in many years. Cindy listened to what I wanted and then exceeded my expectations with an outstanding haircut. She took her time, even though it was getting late in the business day and a few other walk-ins were waiting. I did not feel like I received a rushed haircut or one from a recent student who had just received their license. The cost was as expected ($21) but the result was so much more! Walked in for my first time. Met with a great welcome. Very friendly. Very polite. Told to have a seat. After about 5 minutes called to the chair. This is where it goes downhill. Barber puts the apron on, grabs the scissors, and then pauses. "One second, sir." Another customer had walked in. Made an appointment but was late. After a short conversation, the barber comes back, takes off my apron, and says "Sorry, sir. Please go take a seat." He's going to serve the late customer. Huh? Are you kidding me? You're kicking me out of the chair for someone who was late? This has never happened in my life. How rude! Stunned, I get out of the chair and walk out of the shop. I will NEVER come back. read more

Got my hair cut by Tyler this morning. He was professional, very helpful, and super nice. Best of all, he answered all my silly questions and made me feel like a valued client even though I'm not a local. I live in Indy but my parents live in Castle Rock. I'm going to refer my dad here and every time I'm in town (every 2-4 months) I'll go back. I can't say enough about Tyler. Also he's a carpenter on the side so we had plenty to talk about as I'm in the lumber industry. I hate going to new places but needed a haircut desperately as I won't be back home for several weeks due to travel. This was painless and I feel like a million bucks. If you were on the fence, quit dilly dallying and get in there! You can make an appointment online (I did) and it worked out perfectly. They accept cards also which many barbers don't. I take my son to get his haircut at Castle Rock Barbers. We've seen Stephanie and Tyler. Both stylists asked my son how he wanted his hair cut and the results were great! They were both polite and chatty with him as well. For the price this easily beats Great Clips, Sports Clips etc. The shop is clean and easily located. Appointments can easily be made online, which is really nice because you can pick a stylist and time convenient to you. It's really nice if you have no stylist preference and are more focused on a specific date, time. Walk ins are welcome but I'd suggest making an appointment. Highly recommend giving Castle Rock Barbers a try. They be done a great job for us!!! read more

Just moved to Castle Rock and needed a haircut really bad! I am SUPER picky when it comes to my hair but I always explicitly state that I don't care, to a new barber. I walked in and sat with Tyler. He asked me what I like and I was very vague, "I like it short, faded on the sides, and I usually spike my hair a little bit. Also, I'm not very picky so no worries." He did EXACTLY what the best kinds of barbers do: he cut my hair to look natural and to fit the shape of my head (egg shaped??). I didn't have to coach or say a damn thing! He cut it the perfect length all around. I have never, ever, in my life, gotten the perfect hair cut with ANY barber, the first time, until now. It also helps that Tyler is very friendly and keeps good conversation. I don't need to go visit all the barbers near me because I found the perfect one the first time, by luck... pat on the back for me... Tyler is the best. I've been in Castle Rock for almost 20 years now and let me tell you it is HARD to keep a barber. In fact,​ it's hard to keep​ a barbershop​p here. I have a list of about a dozen "shops" that have come and gone in less than a year or so. They sprout up and disappear like mushrooms. FINALLY, I have one now that is going to stay and the best part of that is that they are REALLY REALLY GOOD. The best that I've ever had in Castle Rock for sure. As far as barbers go, all the others that have been here were a 6-7 on a scale of 10. Tyler rocks it at a 10. He actually KNOWS how to cut a man's hair and does it well. I hit this place at the perfect time (almost walked in and walked into the chair). Three minutes later there were 5 people waiting! When was the last time you had your hair cut by a guy in a tie? I had my hair cut here twice. The first time was ok. OK. Stylist a actually told me they weren't much of a talker but they put on a happy face to cut hair. ? But haircut was decent. Second time the kid was late, then barely spoke and when he did it was because I prompted the conversation. And it took a full hour for my simple trim. Unfortunately I'm a first and last customer. I recently just moved to the area and really wanted to give this place a chance after reading all the great reviews. I had an appointment for 12:15 with Meghan, sat down and waited. About 30 minutes go by, I'm still waiting as other customers come in and are seen immediately. At this point after still not being seen for my appointment, I decided to leave as a customer's time is valuable. I'm sure the haircuts are good and the owner seems like a good dude as I was greeted by him when I walked in. Went to get a haircut for a wedding so I figured I'd go to a place that cost a little more, essentially expecting a little more. Made an appointment with Boris. Nice guy, but the cut didn't turn out well. So I went back in the next day to show him what I was aiming for with the pictures on my phone (again) and hopefully get fixed up. Of course he charged me again (I actually half expected it) and it didn't turn out well at all...sigh (all told $80 later). I just smiled, gave him a thumbs up and left. I read that these Barbers are their own little businesses so there's really no one to speak/appeal to. Long story short, I believe that the magic to a good haircut is not with a nice establishment, or a well known chain... It's with the individual stylist.
