Cozy place to stay. The beach is amazing and it was wonderful to sit in the hot tub and warm up after spending the afternoon at the beach.

Nightmare. The owner of this company tried to gaslight me into staying in a house infested with…read moreants. Pull up a chair. It's... it's actually shocking how unprofessional this woman was. We rented a $230/night house (called HAVEN) for a family birthday getaway. The day after we checked in, we discovered an infestation of ants all over the kitchen and in the living room - they were in the kitchen cupboards, on the counter, all over the floor (see pics). It was really disgusting. I cleaned up hundreds of ants and they were still everywhere. I felt like I had ants all over my body. I was in distress. This is not the $230/night deluxe experience I had envisioned. I sent photos to this management company and called them immediately. The first person I spoke to said that they were MADE AWARE THE HOUSE HAD ANTS, a week ago - but thought they had fixed the problem. She offered to send a maintenance person to check things out, but said the options would be to spray chemicals (I had my dog there, and wouldn't allow this), or to use a sugar wash, which, she explained, would make the problem worse before it got better. Oh, super. I told her that I was really uncomfortable and didn't know what to do. Neither of these options would work and I didn't want anyone else in the house due to COVID. She did not offer any additional options, so in my distress, I relented and said the maintenance person could come at least check things out. They gave me 30 minutes to vacate for the maintenance person. It was pouring down rain so a bit inconvenient but... ok. A few minutes later as we were preparing to vacate, I opened up a cupboard to get a glass of water and ants were running around all of our plates and cups in the cabinets. My kids were upset and I was disgusted, and we decided we didn't want to be there at all. I called back and spoke to the owner this time. This is where the gaslighting began! I told her as politely as I could that we were uncomfortable and would be leaving. She then LAUGHED AT ME and loudly cawed, "You're LEAVING OVER SUGAR ANTS??" Then she said, "it's not like it's mice or rats! They don't bite, they don't sting, and they don't carry disease!" OHHH. OK! I don't mind if I find a few swimming in my morning coffee, then! No prob. #BeachLife! She also tried this one: "this is NORMAL for Manzanita!" When I tried to tell her that I've been vacationing at the coast at Seaside since I was young, and had never experienced anything like this, she cut me off to explain, "This isn't SEASIDE, it's MANZANITA!" OHHH! Yes, right, this town is 30 minutes down the coast from the one I grew up going to... and thus has a compleeeetely different climate, vegetation and pests, and that makes an ant infestation perfectly acceptable, perfectly normal, perfectly healthy. When I explained that I did not want any chemicals to be sprayed because I had my dog in the house, she again CUT ME OFF to tell me she has EXPENSIVE dogs and she would NEVER put dogs in danger. OK? Not sure why I needed to know she has expensive dogs. This is not about you, Karen. This is about us, you know, the people who paid almost $2000 to stay here? She never once apologized. She never offered to set us up with a different property. She just attempted to gaslight me into thinking I was CrAzY for wanting to vacate a property swarming with lovable, friendly little ants. Meanwhile, my body still itches. She went on and on for so long without letting me speak, that my daughter eventually took the phone from me and told her we would be leaving, and hung up. We packed up our things and got out of ANT HAVEN. I requested a refund through AirBnb, which the property manager has declined. But it's fine, I'm dealing directly with AirBnb to resolve it. And, this is just review #1. I do not love an ant colony in my silverware drawer, but I DO love a review. And I'm only getting started. Avoid. Unless you love ants and being insulted.

Very clear communication with us. The house we rented was in great condition. We will continue to…read moreuse them in the future.

I hate letting you in on this secret, because then I might not be able to get my favorite beach…read morerental when I want it. North Coast Beach Rentals offers affordable rentals in the Oregon beach communities of Manzanita and Rockaway. So, if you are dying to get away from it all to a secluded Oregon coastal town for a relaxing weekend, then you might consider a house rental as opposed to a spendy coastal hotel. You can rent an entire pet friendly house for less than one night in a hotel at many popular Oregon Coast towns. Prices are as low as $89 a night in off season. We always rent the same house and it is very clean and comfortable. This is a great option when you really want a vacation, and prefer the privacy and comfort of a house rental versus a tiny hotel room. Of course, you won't have room service, and daily maid service either, but it is a good trade for the price.

On one occasion when we were detained at the coast due to car trouble Tracey worked with us to secure three extra nights at the same property and at a good price. After almost 7 years of renting from NCBR, we have stayed in most of their Rockaway homes, and a few in Manzanita. We have our favorite but all have been honestly marketed, clean and maintained, in good locations--some have fantastic views--and many allow pets for a small extra fee. We always appreciate having a full kitchen, washer/dryer, and often a yard, fire pit or spa. Until we can afford to buy our own home at the beach someday, NCBR will always be our first choice for a getaway on the North Oregon Coast.

First off you need to understand that in my opinion this place is more designed for people that want to come and relax and have a peaceful stay. This is not a tourist spot, so there is no night life or things to see unless you drive 10 minutes to Lincoln City. I come here because I have a very stressful job and this place helps me unwind. This place appeals to me because it's quiet are there are not a lot of people around. This place is ideal for those that want to have a private beach and not have a bunch of people around. You practically have your own private beach. If you are looking for more things to do you can just pop into Lincoln City which is not far away. This place is for those that want to relax in peace and quiet. Keep that in mind when coming here.

If having a romantic weekend straight out of 1982 is your dream vacation, book!!! If not, avoid. I do believe each house is decorated/provisioned by the actual owners and not the property management team, as I did see other homes that were incredibly cute. This home, however, could use a massive update. Bathrooms were seriously laughable -- if you're over 5 feet and 90 pounds, good luck with fitting in the tub or shower! Hope you're also a fan of WEAK water pressure -- and the bedding (comforter) in the king room looked like it had been well marked by a dog. Sweet. I will say we had GREAT views from the family room and deck. Saw a TON of whales right from the family room. We kept plenty warm and cozy. I think it was way over priced for getting accommodations so extremely dated. Also, watch out for the rip tide. Watched people get rescued!

On September 24, 2025 went and made my final payment for the property and noticed that the property address was available. Went to Zillow to check for additional photos and get more info on the area. The house is "FOR SALE" and went on the market on September 5, 2025. Contacted Vacasa and of course Tier 1 support is not very helpful so asked to speak to a supervisor. Spoke with Tonya and expressed my concern about not being notified that the house is on the market and was told there is nothing to be concerned with - Realtors will be told that the house is not available for showings while the house is being rented and that if the house is sold previous to your stay, the stay will still be honored per their contract with the homeowner. Still expressed my concern about random people coming by while we were on vacation and asked for a full refund. Sorry! we can refund you stay minus the cancellation fee per our policy, So I ask, what is your policy on informing guests when a property goes on the market - "I don't know what that policy is and would have to go and find out." Cancelled the reservation immediately and lost out on the cancellation fee because we were willing to lose out a $160 versus the stress of having our vacation interrupted by some real estate agent or random person coming by. Horrible Customer Service and will not be using Vacasa in the future. This is not how you treat customers.

I actually loved that my phone couldn't be called here '-) AND that they have a landline should you really need free of charge. I don't know why this little beachside gem isn't in more findable here online - but snap it up if you see it in a listing here in Oceanside! They really book it out (which tells you the cool little place to stay it is.) I am crazy about cabins and the title says it all - knotty pine walls and it has that vintage cabin feel. Pluses - well, the sunsets from here! The owners seemed to have appointed it well even providing plenty of nice seasoned wood for the fireplace, pretty much everything you'd need in kitchen and this seems like a great place for families to stay with the bunk beds for the kids. It's also pet friendly - how cool is that? But one of the biggest pluses, besides the sound of the ocean from your window and a lovely little deck full of sun on a shiny day :) are the BEDS! Oh my gosh - incredible memory foam mattress topper and really soft high count thread sheets. You don't always get that in a vacation rental. That one there earned them the 5 stars along with the most unique "Treehouse" with stunning views. We will be back!

Spent a good part of the day up there reading, with a glass of wine (Okay, a bottle. Who we kidding?). The sunset view is perfect. It sleeps 6 or more I guess. The garage is stocked with all the beach paraphernalia you could need including boogie boards, beach chairs and a coupla dozen wetsuits, including YOUR size! The beach is an easy two or three block walk (walking back is uphill). It's GameNight ready. Dozens of games await (Scrabble, Risk, Cards Against Humanity, puzzles, etc). Oceanside is a quiet little town (village? burg?) The Blue Agate (for breakfast and Rosanna's for lunch and dinner are both within walking distance and both real good. Looks like it tends to be booked pretty solid, but if you can squeeze in a couple of days during the week, more power to you.

Sometimes the views have been amazing. This time we stayed in Twin Rocks in one of a group of newer townhomes we had made fun of previously. Karma. It was like the suburbs at the beach, twenty cookie cutter townhouses. It was nicely appointed though. Our 3 bedroom 3 bath slept 11 they said ( I think 8 is more realistic) with hot tub for $169 pr night with buy two get one free. Some cleaning fees and a hot tub fee. Wi fi. Mostly good. Lake view and short walk to the beach. Nicely decorated. The place shared an outdoor fire pit with the one next door. It didn't really specify that it was shared on the website. Our neighbors monopolized the fire pit the first two nights we were there so we were pitless. We also didn't use the hot tub those nights, it was just frankly too exposed to the neighbors....not that we were up to anything, our ten year old eveven expressed that it was too close to " those noisy drinking people." We used it the last night and it was nice enough. The ten year old enjoyed it as the sky was clear and the stars and moon were beautiful. My primary and ongoing bitter complaint with Beach Break (los t yelp stars) is their laundry policy. They want all their linens washed and this time all folded and out of the dryer at check out which is an early 11am. This means the last night and morning you are doing laundry and getting up at the crack of dawn to get the linens done. Usually the appliances are the stackable kind that dont take an enormous load. We paid a cleaning fee. Other places kindly ask you to start a load, or have you bring your own and charge a little less, or have later checkout (12 would be good)or have bigger appliances. Any of those eould be better than cranky me becoming the towel nazi and making people shower the night before so I can wash towels. We only used three beds I cant imagine if we had used four. I do not like getting up at 8 am my last day at the beach. Grrr. And over the years I have given this feedback as have others and we have been ignored. Same policies in place for years now. So, you have been duly warned. Its a mixed bag.
