UPDATE: One star to Three Stars and Pending Five... The Branch Manager at this location just called me asking how Castle can make this right - this goes a long, LONG way in my opinion. We've agreed Castle will replace the spoiler. He has also given me his word that he will personally follow the warranty cancellation through to completion with my lender. Finally, he has agreed to speak with the employee in the service department about this behavior. I understand that work is work, and work on a Saturday can be especially challenging. We all have bad days. I've asked the employee not be reprimanded beyond being asked to change his treatment of customers. I've also asked that a separate member of the service team be rewarded for his courtesy. I have offered to be patient while the new spoiler be located/ ordered. I will certainly amend this review to Five stars upon completion of the warranty cancellation, and the spoiler repair. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Complete scam artists. Sold me a car with a loose spoiler, and a "bumper to bumper" warranty that did not cover the spoiler falling off on the highway. The men at the service department looked me (a young woman) up and down and said they couldn't help me, and that I'd need to talk to the person who sold me the car. I insisted on speaking to a manager. The manager suggested I lied about the spoiler, and that the spoiler had been struck with something. Nope. You sold me a lemon. And the warranty covered nothing. When I tried to cancel the warranty, they offered a "rebate" instead. When I asked about the rebate 45 days later, I was told they simply forgot. I canceled the warranty. I was told this wouldn't be a problem. 40 seconds later, I was told, "oh wait, this won't change your payments or benefit you." What am I paying for? What is this scam? Do NOT buy from this company. WORST experience yet again with this dealerships service department! Dealt with Sam I'm guessing her full name is Samantha! I just bought a car from them a few weeks ago & the check engine light is back on for the second time. I set up a time to take it in, they take me to work & after 4hrs I had to call to get an update! Then the dumb girl Sam had the audacity to tell me they cannot see the future to know my car was going to need work, she said and the fact it under warranty and getting fixed for free I shouldn't complain. I was LIVID!!!! Then this illiterate girl gave the driver to pick me up the wrong address & had me waiting outside in the heat for almost 30 minutes and blew it off as if it wasn't a big deal. So I had to have my co worker take me up there to get my car & the stupid girl gave me my key and didn't tell me where my car was so when technically they should pull your car up! The is the absolute WORST place. Then I called her manager and all he could say is they have high customer service scores!! Incompetent! They all are! Then I've called for the General Manager, left two messages and he has YET to call me back. These kind of places give u A-1 service when you're buying one of their raggedy cars but after the purchase everyone is so busy!! read more

I have purchased 4 Subaru's from Castle Guy in Portage IN. Each purchase was so easy using the Costco program. Recently, I had service due to my previously ownerd XT Outbacks and I was done much quicker than thought on each occasion. The parts department is great to find the correct parts from my vehicles. We added a moonroof deflector and Wi-Fi charging unit to our Outback Wilderness and it took less than an hour to perform the work. Thank you Castle Guy for your service! Bill O. read more

Initial sales experience was rocky but given proximity I didn't want to go find another Subaru dealer. Went back another time to get past initial quarrels. New sales guy answered me very specifically on important issues like credit checks but basically made up answers and they did the opposite. Despite paying up front and willingness to get cashiers check they did a HARD credit inquiry, affecting my credit score which I need for RE investment plans. Just bad that they just lied and told me specifically they would NOT do this if I paid in full. To make matters worse, when I called to get to see if there is a retraction or anything they can do the sales guy basically doesn't even answer me and wants to offload me to another person. I then get the finance person who says that he doesn't do the credit checks. Then when I note the credit reporting notifications he turns his story to "no one told him not to do it". Then he goes on to speculate that it shouldn't matter to me because my credit "is like 860". Just like most dealerships, full of liars and 0 after care. Update: went in for a second car... should have known better. They lied about capabilities on cars (didnt have their facts straight, had to call Subaru of USA to get the correct answers). Trade in was the usual bullshit story about why they assumed I should expects thousands less from the KBB Trade in value. Sales person condescending as always. Horrible horrible business to deal with. Also called service re an error message on the car. Twice promised to call back. Never did. So we have a brand new car flashing error messages and the dealership is useless. When calling for a lost key I got the usual unfriendly people on the phone. Hardly willing to speak to me about ordering a new key. Do what I did and drive further out to get a Subaru dealer that DESERVES your business. I got an email through my employer that we would receive a discount when purchasing a vehicle at castle subaru. I signed the contract and gave them a check for my deposit. after looking over the contract I realized I did not get the discount I was promised so I called the salesman and told him my concerns and he gave me a a bunch of lies. I then called the sales manager a gentleman who said he was the sales manager listened to my concerns and said he'd call me back. In the mean time I got a message from the finance manager saying there was a problem with my check and they are prepared to take legal action against me. I freaked out thinking my account was compromised so I called my bank and the money was in the account. I later found out that they lost the check. I called Lafayette Subaru and spoke to a woman about my concerns and got a call from a different guy who said HE was the sales manager. He listened to my concerns and said he'd call me back and of course never called me back. I e mailed him two times after that and no response. I will never buy a car or recommend anyone to buy a car from castle Subaru. They lied to me, cheated me out of my employee discount and threatened to take legal action against me and they were the ones who lost my check. Very bad business! read more

I was visiting my aunt from San Diego and she requested that I help her buy a car to replace her aging Jeep Cherokee 4X4. I suggested we look at the Subaru's because of their sophisticated all wheel drive. We were greeted by a gentleman named Sava. He was the most patient salesman i have ever met. He answered all of our questions and allowed us to thoroughly test drive the car. When we told him we wanted​ to visit the Jeep dealership not only did he not pressure us into buying but he encouraged us to see the competition. (I think he knew we would find the Jeep inferior). After a brief Jeep test drive my aunt could not wait to get back to the Subaru Outback. Sava greeted us with open arms. My aunt is older and was tired so we could not handle a long negotiation. To make a long story short he made us a great deal and 1 hour later she was happily driving home in her 2018 Outback wagon! Thank you Sava and all the nice people at Castle Subaru! read more
