    Chicken fried steak!
    Jennifer G.

I've been in the area for over 4 weeks with work and had such a craving for country fried steak! Castlewood was less than 2 miles away, so off I went! I called in my order and did take out. Super nice on the phone and said my order would be ready in 15. I asked for the gravy on the side and they gave me an entire cup! Nice to have that for the mashed potatoes:) Salad was fresh and plenty and the country fried steak hit the spot. They call it chicken fried steak btw.. I'll probably be in the area for a while longer and glad to have this spot nearby. Oh, 13 and change for the meal which is super fair.

Emily was amazing and extremely attentive to all of her tables! Best service I have had here by far!!!! I strongly suggest when you go here to ask for Emily!!!

I love to explore, looking for interesting places like Castlewood, for breakfast. The area is unique and when I discovered this Castlewood I thought it was going to be a winner. However after striking out on three separate trips there, I am giving up. People are very nice but the breakfast cooks must really try to ignore any and all requests from customers. Not sure what is so hard about eggs to order, crispy hash browns or well done sausage but it's beyond them. Three times they're out. Too many great breakfast spots around.

Good food, but they're not used to strangers. I walked in at 2:30pm and all the employees just stared. Someone, not my waitress, asked if I wanted coffee, then made a big show that she offered as though no one believed her. My waitress only spoke to me when I was halfway through the page to see if I was enjoying everything. Greek Spaghetti was excellent, but could use one or two more ingredients. Feta cheese, green peeps and noodles is tasty but could use garlic and some other veggies. The specials all come with a glass of wine which I thought was odd for a workday, but appreciated. All told, Greek spaghetti, beef barkley soup, scrawberry snortcake and a glass of Manischewitz - 8.40. I'll go back unless I need something professional or even friendly.

Best American/Mexican restaurant in the city, high quality food, service and management. Mexican food is authentic and never disappoints.

Convenient if you're staying at the hotel and want a nice relaxing and quiet place to enjoy a meal. In general all the food tasted fresh and did seem to use slightly better than normal ingredients. My favorite dish I tried was the Gnocchi Ala Vodka as the other ones seemed to be a bit bland. I also enjoyed the Beer Braised Reuben as the taste of the beef was prominent and the other elements complemented instead of distracted from the flavor. I wouldn't make a special trip to eat here again but I would stop by if I'm in the area.

Since I was alone, I sat on the quiet side to work vs on the louder bar side. I ordered a small Caesar without croutons and a cheeseburger, medium, with blue cheese, double lettuce, and tomato with fries. Lighting was low which was great to see the computer screen. Music was on the perfect background volume. The Caesar was really tasty! But it did have croutons as wells as grape tomatoes and olives. I would get it again. The burger was prepared a specified. It came on a pretzel bun. I asked the server which was better- the homemade fries or the homemade potato chips. He said both were good but he gets the fries. So that's what I got. The homemade fries were very, very good. Too good! The key lime pie was tart, the way I like it. The presentation was very fancy too. My waiter said the cheesecakes were the best sellers. Maybe next time! It took awhile to hunt someone down to pay my bill. This is a great option if dining alone and you want to work.

The food is pretty standard with a few items that are different from your normal restaurant fare. We chose the vegetable bowl with grilled chicken added which we found to be quite tasty and truly enough to feed two people. They do have one issue if you're sitting outside. The speaker system for background music is quite annoying and has some kind of problem, it's all bass and it similar to having that annoying car somewhere around you at a traffic light with that deep bass sound coming and seemingly vibrating things. I wish they would fix it or just turn it off. Otherwise 5 stars....
