Water heater was shooting out water on a Saturday -- thought it would be Monday before we were back with any hot water. Called CastleWorks and they had JUSTIN out within the hour. He was the most professional, knowledgeable, thorough repair person we've ever dealt with. He diagnosed the problem (regulator valve busted -- water pressure was dangerously high causing a few other related problems in the house). I thought for sure we were going to need a new water heater. He replaced our valve on the spot, then fixed the leak in the water heater. He answered all of our questions, gave us options, and even told us that if the water heater fails (it's getting older) within the next year, the cost of the fix can be applied to a new water heater. This saved us from agonizing over whether we needed to just dive into a replacement today, or if a fix would be worth the spend. We felt like we were in excellent hands -- no pressure, real human consideration, and thoughtful expertise. 10/10 would recommend. It took 7 months to respond to my review. It shows how much you pay attention to your business. Your response doesn't address the main issue with my experience. This was an outdoor tankless water heater replacement with easy access. The existing unit was being replaced with a new unit, and I was told the job would require disconnecting the old unit, installing the new one, and sweating two copper connections. Your technician quoted me $7,200. When I questioned how that price could be justified, he told me, "I don't set the prices," and then reduced the price to $4,000. That's a $3,200 reduction during the same visit. Your response mentions permitting, code compliance, warranty, insurance, disposal, and other possible costs, but none of those were itemized or explained to me as the reason for the $7,200 price. I'm questioning how a $7,200 quote for this particular job can suddenly become $4,000 simply because the customer challenged the price. That's the reason I wrote the review, and your response doesn't the main issue because you have not real answer other than a dishonest employee trying to rip off a customer. read more

My original review was about being quoted nearly $5,000 for a water heater replacement, then discovering the exact same job could be done for a fraction of the cost. I never asked for free work--I asked to pay the actual disposal fee and a reasonable labor charge for the technician's time. Castleworks response is pure corporate spin. It never explains the outrageous price, never addresses that the technician ignored my request not to remove the hoses, and completely sidesteps the fact that I was simply asking for a fair resolution. Yes, CastleWorks refunded $100, but I even offered to remove every negative review if I was made whole by paying only the disposal fee and a reasonable labor charge. Instead, you chose to defend an indefensible quote. That tells customers everything they need to know. FYI- you can dispose of your water heater for $12 in San Diego or $135 for full service pickup from other companies. I have no idea how this company gets to $625 price! read more

The engineer Elston showed up on time and make a quick and righ decision to replace the tank! He brought a replacement tank that fits to my need and did it for about two hours. The customer service, though sounded somewhat like AI, was very polite and patient on my poor English, which I really appreciate because it's not always the case. I need to mention about the follow up text by Wendy asking about the issue, the type of tank, etc., which made the service more efficient. I found some dirty water from the old tank in the garage after the service but that is minimal and does not bother me. I just appreciate you for your customer first stance! I called them and got their creepy Ai assistant, creepy because it sounds like a real person! But soon after a real person called me and they scheduled someone to come out the following day. This is a tough review. The office is very responsive with calls, updates, etc. We had a water heater put in in September 2024. The guy who put it into a great job. But I felt like there was some negotiating pricewise at the time as far as making a final decision on which water heater to go with. I went with it because my water heater was leaking and there were good reviews. Yesterday I had a leak coming from the recirculating pump. I called Castle works and they had somebody come out today at 11. Very punctual and good communication. When he got here, Salvador Vidales was very polite and pointed out the problem immediately. But I could not understand was that he quoted me $1012 for the service he said because the pump was $900. I quickly went onto Home Depot and looked and those pumps sell at Home Depot for about $400 max. When I questioned him, he said that's what his boss told him to quote. I asked him to call his boss and this is when it gets strange. I asked to speak to the boss. And he told me that Salvatore made a mistake and it would only be $850 total. My water pump was leaking so I said OK. He did a great job was good at cleaning up, etc. But I couldn't believe that I could negotiate a $200 difference... it seems to me these prices should be set in stone. Not negotiable. I know when people come out like that it's a situation that has to be taken care of immediately. And I don't feel that people's emotional state should be taken into account. I have a six year warranty on this water heater. But if something else happens, that is out of warranty I probably will not use them. read more
