My husband called Pipeline for an estimate on a leak we discovered in our daughter's bedroom. Jay recommended that we get a leak test first. Unfortunately, the place he recommended was not available so my husband called Conejo Valley. Paul arrived two hours later. After confirming the leak, he estimated the repair cost at 4k, potentially reaching 8k. My husband didn't agree so he called Jay who arrived in 20 minutes. He spoke to Paul, looked at the issue, then provided us with an estimate that was far more reasonable and made a whole lot more sense. He then spent some time explaining what to expect when he returns. We very much appreciated Jay's flexibility with our schedule by delaying his start time so I could drop off my husband at the airport. When he arrived with Daniel, they first prepped the work area and covered our floors from the front door to our daughter's bedroom. Jay kept me informed of their progress, showed me the issue and explained how it happened. When the work was complete, everything was cleaned as if they were never there. Jay was just amazing -- responsive, honest, knowledgeable and fair. He and Daniel were so professional and careful as they walked in and out of our home. I found out later that he was also keeping my husband (who was in Chicago) continually updated by text with pictures and videos. Most importantly, our Frenchie pups absolutely loved Jay and Daniel. As a first time homebuyer I was really nervous about having any work done on my house. Would I know if the price was fair? Would I know if the people I hired were being honest with me about what was needed? Would the work be done properly? How would I know? Jay helped ease my worries by suggesting that I email him a list of what needed to be done and photos of things I was unsure of. Because of the many positive posting on Yelp, I called and spoke with Jay about an estimate. My home is in Beverly HIlls which is right next to West Hollywood and I was surprised he wanted to charge me for an estimate! Give me a break! I told him I found him on Yelp and he said because I'm out of a 3 mile radius he would charge for an estimate! I guess things must be good to turn down business. Anybody who is this pricey for 1 or 2 miles out of his beloved 3 miles radius, must be a high charger anyway. I will look elsewhere. read more

I have a zero tolerance for unethical businesses and Pipeline is one of them. My Noritz water system broke down a few weeks ago so I called Noritz asking them what to do. As it is still under warranty they advised me call a plumber and they would pay the bill. Awesome! They gave me a list of a few plumbers in my area and after reading a few reviews on Yelp I decided to go with Pipeline. First, despite what Noritz told me, Jay from Pipeline told me that I had to pay him directly and then deal with Noritz to get reimbursed. Fine, why not, I did not really care at that time, I just wanted my hot water system to be fixed so I wrote him a check. Then I contacted Noritz explaining them the situation. They said they already issued a check to Pipeline to pay for the service but if I would get that check back they would send me a new one. So I called Jay..... This guys is the RUDEST person I ever talked to. He REFUSED to talk to me. Every single time I tried to have a conversation with him he would say "invoice number!". Can you look by my name? "Invoice number!". Can you look by address? "invoice number!" Can you look by date of service? "Invoice number!" Can you look by check number? "Invoice number!". I am not joking that he was acting like a real robot, repeating over and over again "invoice number! invoice number!" So anyway, I found that invoice and emailed it to him..... many times. He never got back to me. Clearly that guy did not want to send that check back.... I contacted Noritz again and we quickly realized that this guy does that all the time : Cash the check from the client and then cash the same amount from Noritz. What a crook! Long story short Noritz issued me a new check and they are now dealing directly with Jay to get their money back... Not my problem anymore. But I am very disappointed by that type of behavior. I will definitely not used Jay's services again nor recommend him to anyone. read more

We've been using Jay for our 100 year old house in the Hollywood Hills for over a decade now. He's an intelligent guy and a great plumber. He's done just about everything for us over the years, from install a toilet, to fix a leak, to trenchless sewer repiping and servicing our inline water heater. He is quite busy, so if it's not an emergency, it can take a day or two to get on his schedule. Well worth it, though. Jay came to my house Saturday and unclogged the main sewer line. He worked the line from a different "access point" (or whatever those things are called) than the previous rooter business. And it turned out this part of the line hadn't really been cleaned before. He and his machine worked for quite a while (the other company just came and did a quickie job that had to be redone more than once a year) and did a super job. He also told me that tankless water heaters need maintenance - especially mine that another company put right by the exhaust for my clothes dryer! I wish I'd have used Jay for that installation.
